    Nice video Kenny, You can also set this up with just one Special Function. Just Choose "ON" for your switch and S1 will become active at power ON for this model. Fly Safe :)

    FYI you can do this with one less step. instead of attaching the volume on off to SF ^ and SF v you can I scroll up until you get to the 3rd from the last(I think) it is "ON". it will keep the volume control always on eliminating 1 of the 2 special functions.

    Thank you for this video. I am a newbie drone builder (my first drone will be a drone based on the AOS UL7 EVO frame). I am on a steep learning curve atm. Could you put all your FrSky Taranis related videos in a playlist? Do you have anything on this radio working with an ELRS module? Thank you again.

    thank you Hanger Fiftyone for the info on the volume control. BTW: do you have any videos on setting up Telemetry like voltage, GPS, Vireo sensors? I've watched videos on it but for some reason I can't get them to work.

    A better way is to use the special switch ON instead of both SG positions. It's near the bottom of the list.

    That worked a treat - thank you very much. The only thing is although I have the volume control the initial "Welcome to Open Tx" that you are greeted with when you turn the radio on is still at a fixed medium volume regardless of where I have the volume set on the dial. From there on I have perfect volume control. Is there a way to quieten the initial welcome to ... message?

    Was wondering if there is away once you start playing music to stop it ...the only way I can is to power the remote down and then back up....was hoping I could do it with another switch but I have had no luck....Thanks for any help !!

    you don't need the switch function to control the volume just assign volume to one of the pots

    Hi, I love your video. It was very helpful to me. I'm a newbie and I just got a Taranis plus and I'm trying to get my landing gear on my 580 quad to go up and down. Could you tell me, or show me how to assign a switch to make them go up and down and assign sounds to it?

      I'm assuming you have flight modes on channel 5 so on screen 6 (mixer
      screen) set channel 6 name it gear attach a switch to the source and
      that should get the gear working. as far as talking ; on screen 11
      special functions just set the two switch positions up and down to play
      track gearup and geardn. watch my video on telemetry for some help.

      Worked great! You wouldn't know why I can't celebrate my escs in Mission Planner with and Arducopter 2.6 Would you? I had them calibrated with a Turnigy x9 but couldn't get the Taranis X9D to work at all. Thanks Kenny.

      ok so tell me what you are doing different because it should behave exactly the same ; are you getting throttle input ?

    • @grovehull9478
      @grovehull9478 8 лет назад

      Kenny I wish I knew what I am doing different. I did notice the model set up I used had different channels, but I cannot get the escs to calibrate anymore... the apm doesn't sing when I put the throttle all the way up like it did with the turnigy. The receiver is communicating fine in Mission Planner. I chatted with tech support at HobbyKing and they gave up on me... they said 'just plug it in right and fly.
      I'm wondering if I need to reinstall the firmware or what?
      I did try just making a new model with the quad format and trying that... but nothing. The ArduCopter 2.6 isn't responding in the esc calibration mode.
      Andrew the tech guy said my numbers on the tx calibration in MP are perfect.
      Any thoughts?
      Grove

      is arducopter 2.6 using channel 1 or 3 for throttle? check that your Taranis matches the channel mapping

    Is there a way to lower the "welcome to Open TX" sound.... that's the one that wakes my wife when I bind quads at night :)

    u can use switch called 'ON' to make it be on all the time

  • @CodeChief
    @CodeChief 8 лет назад

    The current version has the "ON" switch under "Other", so no need to map the same thing twice.

    I have the same problem you have , that dead pixel line on the screen , no idea what caused it, the transmitter is only a few months old, have you figured out how to fix it a side from buying a new screen?

    • @hangarfiftyone3527
      @hangarfiftyone3527  8 лет назад

      +Gus F ; I was told that if I unhook the ribbon cable to the screen and re attach it making sure it is centered it might fix the problem but I have not tried it yet.

      Try checking your boot screen volume; press and hold menu button, scroll
      down 6 lines to the volume and raise to desired level. Kenny

    Wouldn't it be better to put volume on a 'GF' so it works for all setups (models)...or am I missing something.

      Hey Greg; no you didn't miss a thing !! Very good call; 4 years ago I was just learning (still learning every day ) just how powerful this radio is; and I did figure out that you could use the GF for that a few years ago ; This radio is just AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kenny

    Hi Kenny, how do I turnoff RSSI warning and telemetry lost? There is nothing setup in Spacial Functions but as soon as I fly out of 100 ft range, I start to get warnings which is very distracting.
    Thx
    Riz

    • @hangarfiftyone3527
      @hangarfiftyone3527  8 лет назад +1

      hey Riz; I do not recommend turn off the RSSI warning all together.
      it is a very helpful feature of this radio that you should take
      advantage of, but if you want to lower the level so yo don't get
      notified until you are farther away it is done on each model on screen
      12. just select a plane, go to screen 12, scroll down to RSSI warning
      and change the two levels to; well I would start at maybe low at 34 and
      critical at 29 and see how that works. Kenny

      Thank you Kenny. I have change the numbers from 49 to 30 and 34 to 20
      Btw, on taranis plus this function is on page 13

      Hi Riz; That is interesting because I have a Taranis Plus but I only
      have 12 screens. Are you running Open TX and do you know what version you have?
      I have V2.0.9.2 That is on screen 4 of 8 of the radio setup
      screens. push and hold menu. thanks - Kenny
