I am reading through the Little House series currently. In February I will be finishing the series.
“Children of the Longhouse” I think I have actually read. The cover looks very familiar.
Thank you for the video. Happy reading!

I seriously get so excited every time a new video in the series goes up. I’m currently listening to Wives and Daughters as an audiobook from one of your last video’s recommendations and I am really enjoying it!

This makes me so happy to hear!! It is the most soothing book to listen to on audio.

The Little House on the Prairie series is a life softening series for me as well. I love the audiobooks with the music too!

I really enjoyed this series, Kate and I’m adding a bunch of books to my TBR. I have been struggling with a lot of anxiety and find that I’m just not able to read some of the books that I used to enjoy and these books sound like just the type of book I need. I hope you have a great reading year!

Thank you for your videos. I have written many of your suggestions down on my tbr list. I just finished A Week in Winter by Marcia Willett for my January winter read. You mentioned Marcia Willett a few videos back and I do think you'd like her. My mother loved her writing and collected 14 of her books but I had never read any. I started Week in Winter and then you mentioned her; I love connections like that. 😊

Love, love, love the Br Cadfael series. It was a PBS miniseries years ago. Very accurate historically and in the portrayal of monastic life

More wonderful titles! Brother Cadfael is 12th Century; so 1100's, during the Anarchy. 💗

Oooo! Good to know I can read Dr. Thorne any ‘ole time! 😅 Children of the Longhouse sounds great! Have you read The Birchbark House? I’ve only read the first in the series, but I enjoyed it! ♥️

Aww but @amyofheartridge you will LOVE Mr. Harding and his relationship with his daughter in The Warden. I read this book twice and loved it even more the second time. It's a book I would definitely recommend to you knowing your taste.

@@Thecatladybooknook_PennyD I enjoyed The Warden! You are right! 😄😍 I just haven’t got into Barchester Towers! 😂 I’m impatient for Dr. Thorne because I’ve heard so many good things about it. 😹

I’m STILL so sad I didn’t participate in The Belton Estate group read this past summer!! I just keep hearing from reader after reader how much they enjoyed it!! I’m so thrilled to be reading more Trollope this upcoming year after my very first one this past year!
And I can’t believe I’ve only read the first of the Brother Cadfael books, because I totally loved it-what’s my problem?! I need to continue on with that series…

I really enjoyed Ellis Peters' Cadfael series. I think I've read them three times. Amazon has sometimes had low prices on a few of the ebooks. I liked the early Maisie Dobbs, but as they went on, I felt anachronisms in social attitudes started to intrude. It became hard for me to suspend disbelief. I still haven't gotten into Anthony Trollope, but his books have been on the old TBR list for years. :-)

Good to know that Cadfael is rereadable! You're definitely right about Maisie Dobbs having some anachronistic bits. It has bothered me at times. I hope sometime you give Trollope a try!

Children of the Longhouse sounds really wonderful. I have The Door in the Wall and Absolutely Truly, which I've started, out from the library now. Have you read/ heard of The Elephant Keeper by Christopher Nicholson? I'm not connoisseur, but part one, I would say, is a life- softening read. It's about a stable hand, who becomes a keeper for elephants brought to England from india. Set in the 1760s. This is not a recommendation yet, but I hadn't heard of it and wondered if you had.
