Yes, learned a lot. Thanks for this lesson. It makes life easier to get the clearance while you’re still on the ground.
Three months in as a private pilot and I'm working on my Instrument rating... Great timing on the instrument videos. Keep em' coming, because I never know what I don't know until I see it here... then I know
Good video.
I learned to get the clearance on the ground. Good idea 👍.
Great lesson, Jason! Thanks for sharing.
I definitely learned something new today so thank you Jason for teaching me that the newest thing I learned is I didn’t know that while I’m on the ground requesting an IR clearance I can tell them. Hey I need 10 minutes and I’ll say let me know when you’re number one so I didn’t know that I thought I had to wait till I get down to the airport down to the runway whole line do my engine run up and everything and then call but I know I could do that beforehand so. I’m gonna try that next time I wanna do my IFR clearance. I don’t uncontrol Airport call and let them know that the 10 minutes and and stuff like that.
great lesson. keep them coming please
Appreciate the lesson. I'll add that it seems like a better plan to have the info ahead of time. This lessens the pilot workload during those early moments of climbout so i can have eyes outside the cockpit.
Good video. Thx
So cool Jason, I flew to AU a few weeks ago for a hamburger run at Niffers. Give ‘em a try next time your in town.
Good one. Thanks -
Nice video!! 👍
And same process if you have a Clearance Delivery phone number instead of a frequency, right? Hopefully you can pair your phone to your headset to hear the call.
What if they say filed altitude “5” minutes after departure? (Yes, I’ve gotten that).
Then the 10 just changes to a 5. “Maintain X, expect Y 5 minutes after departure”
