Easy to understand tutorial, thanks! I made the following changes after looking at some hats ay Old Navy and Target. Use interfacing to help the form have some shaping. Iron the side seams of the head band open and stitch down. Once the circular top is attached to the headband, stitch down the raw edges to the top. Both strategies give a more professional look to the hat. When finishing off the hat, sew around the hat at 1/2 inch increments. The additional stitching adds a decorative element, especially if done in a contrasting thread color.

Is like to add I usually trace patterns but for those wanting to cut it like her use card stock when printing out the pattern. I do this to save patterns for later and cardstock is not flimsy or light like normal printer paper
Trying my first hat following your tutorial, which is great, but hat is a disaster! Nothing matches up/fits! Cut out pattern exactly, seam allowance as you said. I seem to have too much fabric...help!

hey! i’m making this hat and when i got the two half’s done to put together one brim is longer than the other 😳 should i see the two ends together and match them up or should i just put the hats together and sew along the smaller piece? i don’t know what i did wrong! 😭

You would have to sew along the smaller piece at that point. When that happens to me it's usually the seam allowance that I messed up haha
