    My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

    I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

      Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. My advice for dividend investors is to save for a bigger investment if you really want to retire off dividends, My major picks are SCHD and VOO and a few more that i can't mention because my FA Dianne Sarah Olson is really strict on discretion, anyway i digress, You can't expect to make a million from a thousand dollar investment that's where most people get it wrong, It's not a lottery!! Make realistic investments!! People say it's good to be greedy while investing..Yes, i agree but there's a difference between being greedy and being delusional haha. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.

    I admire the financial independence of people, But you can live better if you work a little more. After watching this I think there are people out there, on the extreme, who plan to die early just to be able to retire early. To each their own but to me, retirement isn't just about not having to work, it's about having the freedom to do whatever you might reasonably want, such as travel, buying things, enjoying life, etc. I don't think I could retire with less than $3m in income-generating investments, maybe $2m at the very minimum. I plan to work until I'm at least 45

    The most popular investment portfolio strategies include diversification, where you spread investments across different asset classes to manage risk. Another is the growth strategy, focused on capital appreciation through high-risk, high-reward assets. Income-oriented strategies target regular income from dividend stocks or bonds. Finally, there's the value strategy, seeking undervalued assets for potential long-term gains.

It's important, in my opinion, to be able to live off of dividends without selling if you invest and make other income in addition to payouts. It suggests that you may pass that down to your kids and give them a leg up in life. Over the years, I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks; I continue to buy more today and will keep doing so until the price drops even further.

I then compared these 10 data point to an index (SPY). Of these 7 stocks only one beat the index and that was HD. The other 6 stocks with 60 data point there was only one stock for one year that beat the index. it might be better to just invest in an index. Charlie, thanks for the video. I was curious if you like stock O (Realty Income Corporation) today at its price of $52.32? At the time of your video it was at $62.65. It is currently down approximately 16%. Do you think it will go down more? If you are not selling your existing holding in O, can you fully disclose how many shares you currently own, when you purchased them and at what price did you pay? I look forward to your response and appreciate all the information you share with your subscribers like me.

    You don’t lose money when a stock price goes down. Be more careful with your speech. I’m sure you know this. You don’t lose or gain until you sell, which is why dividends are great. You make money without selling.

    I am new to the stock market. Every stock that I bought so far, I was out of luck because I bought them when they were expensive. I feel I missed out on all the stock opportunities so far for the tech stocks.I believe having 150K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the stock market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. I am kind of tired of searching for a good stock to buy and losing all the good opportunities

    Everyone has been preaching "buy now, stocks are at a discount" but I've been buying stocks since the beginning of the year and yet nothing's changed, but I've been reading articles of people still in the same market pulling off over 350k in just a couple months, what am i doing wrong?

      You’re right! The current market might give opportunities to maximize profit within a short term, but in order to execute such strategy , you must be a skilled practitioner.

      @CharlieChang  Год назад +2

      You can start investing with just a few dollars but to make $1k+ per month dividends you'll need hundreds of thousands invested! It takes time

      to make 1k a month in dividens you would probably need to invest anywhere from 130k to 180k.

    What people need to realise is that when you look at healthy companies, companies that's been around for a long time and have had a healthy situation for years or even decades is that they are not going anywhere. If their stocks are dropping in value, doesn't mean we're losing. It means the stock is now on sale. We're investers, we're all suckers for a bargain. Buy more, it's cheaper. Companies like Home Depo, or Walmart, or other huge brands are not going anywhere. They are firm, and they are long term. Get in on the action.

    Interesting picks, Kevin O’Leary once said, “if you are stupid enough to smoke, I should make a profit off you”
    While I do own VYM, SCHD and DGRO also look attractive with moderate growth.
