      How do I invest?

    • @XmonsterXaddict
      @XmonsterXaddict 2 года назад

      I have Robinhood and Webull cash accounts and want to make a moomoo account but it will only let me do a margin account. Why is that? Doesn’t that make it to where I could end up owing them money even if I don’t do credit? That’s what the terms made it seem like…like they could lend out my securities. I’m not sure I want them to be able to do that. Could you give me some more info on this?

    The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. $52k dividends received in 2022.

      I agree! That's why it is advisable that you have to invest while you still have a regular job or earning a regular income, and do it constantly. You still need to have something that will keep you going even if you're investing. Good financial planning and money allocation is the key.

      This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.

    I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

    Investing in a stock may look straightforward, but choosing the right stock without a proven technique can be difficult. My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

I believe having $450K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. Although dividends are fantastic, they only work well as a passive income source if you own more than 20,000 to 25,000 shares of a high-yielding firm. In other words, you probably need to invest a few hundred thousand dollars, if not more, in it. Reinvesting dividends back into the same stock does, in fact, compound interest, but you won't truly realise the benefits until after 20 years of continuous investment, and you'll probably need to add more money on top of that, so it will take time and money. In my opinion, if you were to acquire a million dollars at some point, that would be sufficient to build a portfolio that would yield dividend income of between fifty and seventy thousand dollars.

      It's not hard, but you have to become used to handling it. Moreover, you might want to reconsider making independent investments if you are unable to manage your house. If so, instead of placing your bets on penny stocks, you ought to work with a CFP to help you diversify your assets by adding ETFs, index funds, mutual funds, and stocks of businesses with reliable cash flows.

Make realistic investments!! People say it's good to be greedy while investing..Yes, i agree but there's a difference between being greedy and being delusional haha. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.

    Dividends are a great thing, but they’re only really effective for passive income when you either have somewheres over 20 to 25 thousand shares of a high yielding stock. Meaning you likely need to have a few hundred thousand if not more invested in it. Re-investing dividends back into the same stock certainly does snowball with compound interest, but you only really start seeing it after 20 years of never stopping and likely needing to add additional money of your own with it….so it’ll be time consuming and costly. The way I see it if you have a million dollars at some point, that’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between 50 to 70 thousand in dividend income

    • @EleanorBaker474

      It's not difficult, but you have to learn and handle. Another thing is that if you can't manage your home, maybe you shouldn't invest on your own. If so, you should hire a CFP to help you diversify your assets to include ETFs/index funds/mutual funds and stocks of companies with consistent cash flows, rather than betting on penny stocks.

    Doing the calculations on expenses ratio. That eats up a lot of your dividend income. For example, SCHD says in their summary prospectus that for every 10k invested, after 10 years, you will be paying 77 dollars. So, if you have one million dollars invested, you will be paying 7,700k a year to keep your money invested with them.

    • @THirayama
      @THirayama 4 месяца назад

      Now, if you get 30k off of dividends that year, 7,700 is for expense ratio alone. Think about that!!!

    I am new to stock market and learning. I have a genuine question. Rather than investing in individual high dividend stock, i am investing in VYM, vanguard high dividend ETF
    Which has dividend yield around 3.11% , but if I keep same amount in high yield savings account then i can get more than 4% interest. So i feel it is better to keep money in HYSA for now. Please correct me if i am making a mistake.
    Thank you.

      You either do not know or else misunderstand that good dividend bearing stocks tend to increase dividends paid over time. High dividend stocks tend to be less able to increase dividends paid. Conclusion: you end up with more money over long periods of time by finding companies which regularly raise their dividend.

      You're correct. I think the smartest way to go is to spread out your investments. By putting your money into different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and stocks from other countries, you can lower the risk if one part of the market goes bad.

    Hi Charlie. I'm leaving my Walmart job for a much higher paying job with crazy over time. But I never had a Roth Ira before and I still have an outstanding 401K loan. What are my options? I am told they will take my money owed right out of my 401K vested balance and it will be a taxable event. There is nothing I can do since I can't pay it off. I'm told since I'm switching companies they will take the funds owed right out of my balance. Any thoughts?

    Dividend stock is most effective when approached with a long-term perspective. While dividends can provide immediate income, the true power lies in the compounding effect over many years. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas...

    Don't invest in dividends because you end up paying tax. Please don't put your Roth IRAs into dividends because it slow growth. Instead invest in spy 500, voo which averages a 7-12% return and 1.65% dividend. Learn how to read the chart for a swing trade on your Roth IRA account. Roth IRA swing trades are the best if you know how to read charts and average losses.

      Personally, I sometimes use my dividends to buy other dividend and growth stocks for diversification instead of reinvesting in the same stock. To each their own methods though. The good thing is that you’re investing in the first place and that’s what’s important.

      I am new to the stock market. Every stock that I bought so far, I was out of luck because I bought them when they were expensive. I feel I missed out on all the stock opportunities so far for the tech stocks. I believe having 150K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the stock market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn to invest or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. I am kind of tired of searching for a good stock to buy and losing all the good opportunities.
