Both Alliance Alive and Legend of Legacy were great games. I hope the devs will someday release another one. This remaster AND a new SaGa game releasing this year is honestly amazing.
Would be neat to see what kinda SaGa they’ll pull from if there was another Furyu SaGa-like. Glad the SaGa series is alive and thriving these days enough that we even HAVE these games in the first place.
This is quite the video. I have been a SaGa fan since 2014 and hearing a spiritual successor was announced, I got excited. I waited for a localization and preordered the game. I played this game back in late 2015/ early 2016 and I really like what this game had to offer. It really is a beautiful game with such a gameplay variety that’s not in other JRPGs outside of SaGa (of course). I’m a big gameplay JRPG guy, and games like SaGa and Shin Megami Tensei fit that bill for me. Seeing spiritual sequels like The Legend of Legacy or games with similarities like The Lost Child are great in my eyes seeing that every niche are being granted in this crazy video game world. Great video, explaining more about the game than what most people know. I actually watched a let’s play from a RUclipsr called “YokaiYing”, but it seems like her channel was taken down or deleted, the playthrough along with it. I did watch all of it before it was gone, so I know a few things about the game. But this video gave me more knowledge about the game, considering I had magic on people that weren’t efficient with. Looking forward to seeing more JRPG videos from you. The Alliance Alive perhaps? Also really like your music choice, Unlimited SaGa score much appreciated.
Damn I thought I was like the only one that'd played this lol. The music definitely resurfaced some memories, the vibe of this game is just so... odd, and like you said there was no documentation. It was just me and my lil' froggo experiencing death. But I kept playing. Until the weirdo final boss when I realised maybe i should've been collecting and using spells because oh my god I think i was softlocked. But after this I guess it is finally time to return to the l e g o f l e g
It is nice to hear someone talk about this game, BEFORE the remaster drops! LegOLeg was one of the few really nice editions I picked up for the 3DS, the art book and CD were nice bonuses. I agree wholeheartedly that it NEEDS some rebalancing! I'd love to offer my advice, but I got filtered by the Black Dragon. 😂
The Remaster announcement hit me like a FREIGHT TRAIN. So I KNEW what I had to do. Also I just ducked the dragons. Leg of Leg taught me to NEVER mess with SaGa dragons.
@@ablazeemblemier Same on the reaction! Apparently I played it for just shy of 50 hours over 4 months, making it one of the top 20 games I spent the most time with on 3DS. A quick glance through the in game encyclopedia shows I've only seen only about 60% of what it has to offer, despite having 100% on 19 of the 21 maps. Definitely shows the SaGa heritage!
There's actually 2 competent offensive spells: Ball Lightning and Hypernova they're stupidly powerful, I got both on Eloise and she was able to do damn near 1500-2000 per hit lmao
Dang I remember this game and believe or not I still have my cartridge of it even though I have not finished it. I think I just saw this game at GameStop and I bought it because the character designs reminded me of Bravely Default which is my favorite RPG in the 3ds. I could tell this game means a lot to you
Awesome job at this video!! I definitely felt the passion u have for the game and I'm on my playthrough of it atm. Can't wait to see ur future uploads!!
I'm super duper happy for you, Blem, but like... I think the thing that steered me away from it was listening to a podcast I was listening to at the time talk about this and the way that this was more of a spiritual successor to SaGa more than anything, and... I feel like maybe if I were to give Romancing SaGa or SaGa Frontier another go first, i'd be more comfortable playing what is, in my mind at least, the "Bravely Default" of Romancing SaGa.
Thank you. SaGa nerd here, we need more people willing to dig into even more nicher games and appreciate what is yet to be found

I played this game as a kid and didn't think much of it, a few minutes into the video and you've already made me decide to go replay it
Hope you have fun running it back and eventually even considering running SaGa games after it.
