I've built my tiny house also 14 x 40 ft in 1967. in 1970 I moved it to my own land of 2 acres 1/2 KM away, pulled by a bulldozer. no wheels but a sled made of 45 ft pine wood beams.I still live in it, it is now my 'retirement home.
Stumbled on this by accident but man, am I impressed. I watched my 10 by 14 shed get put in years ago in FL - not fancy equipment back then - - but this really is something else-- - good going
Whatever y’all were paid for that job, y’all really earned it!! When Mom had her trailer delivered, she had to get a crew with a jack to set it on the bricks, wish we had had you to deliver it!! Good job!
I have a 18x48 cabin . 3 bedroom 2 bathroom with vaulted ceilings which was framed out with wood siding and a metal roof. I had it brought out and set up on my property $24,000 here in Texas I have insulated it did the wiring and the flooring and the sheetrocking and the plumbing myself with help of my sons. It's a nice shed. I put in a mini split 25,000 mini split and it does well. It was a lot of work but well worth it.

I used to help my dad set up mobile homes when I was young. We always had lots of 1” thick plywood squares to lay down for the trailer wheels when it was muddy or wet. We would dig piers below the frost line and fill with concrete to keep the home from heaving during temp changes.
I wish they had done that for my mobile home. That wasn't required when they brought mine out, but that rule was made 4 years to late for me. I have had nothing but problems ever since..............
The guy sure knows what he is doing, got this job perfected. Seems to work with what is there and keeps his cool. Lucky home owner. Good pair working together.

Some of these areas in these hills your getting off into are absolutely gorgeous!! I’d love to find 10-20 acres in one of those areas for sale. I need to get back to the Ohio area closer to family, been away too long and something in one of these rural areas away from civilization would be perfect!!
You evidently are amazingly good at what you do! Yall work so well together, it's always awesome to watch your videos! God Bless Yall and keep you both safe! I'll be looking for more videos to watch!
Loved this! Some serious skill and work ethic all around. Would love to see a list or another video from you guys of what TO DO and what NOT TO DO if you are building a shed or tiny house you plan to move. Just watching got me thinking about: 4x4 beams running length wise as skids and supports, but how far apart, close together, for the mule to get under? Maybe a 4x4 beam on both ends, with a half lap join like Lincoln logs for structure? A wide flat place on both ends, not a door or window for the upper bar of the mule? Possibly with some extra studs on both ends? Or a temporary protective board from corner to corner to spread the load more than just the mule top bar? Thanks for taking the time to film this while you worked.
This popped up on my RUclips. When we rebuild after a fire, my husband found a floor plan for a 28' x 80' (double wide). If we had it delivered instead of building, our road would have been difficult to have placed it on the property.
Hey little chickadee. should have picked up three blocks. that dude picked up too, when he pick up three, you should pick up four, then go back to one.????? LOL 😆🤣 Thanks KID'S. life is good. God bless you all
We bought four, 8x40 containers and made our home 🏡 with brick outside... the home sits on a concrete 8 foot raised foundation... the foundation turns into flower beds all around it's beautiful... we are happy...
@@donaldcampbell5277 A normal person would layout exactly where it is going, and level and prepare a base. Dumping a truck load of blocks off at random somewhere on that end of the field ain't cutting it.
@@deconteesawyer5758 My assumption is part of the price was leveling it. No way would he and wife spend 2 hrs of time moving blocks if he wasn't being paid to do it.
@@sarah-kenorum2852 "how much more could he be ready." is the question you posed. Your world view that people will only do the bare minimum is flawed. This man on many if not most of his videos goes far beyond what is required in his job description to accommodate and make life easier for the folks he deals with. He does not get paid more for doing so. I wonder if leveling a shed is the same as building almost two foot tall piers and the owner not so much as agreeing on a plan beforehand. Seems like determining what to build for the foundation of your house would be in the preparation/planning stage instead of done on the fly after it was delivered, the blocks counted, and a calculator brought out to see what could be built with them.
I think I would have poured concrete footings for something like that to sit on. That ground is way too wet. All it takes is one side to start to sink and the whole thing slides off.
An ideal footing is gravel with a wood frame (to keep it together). It's perfect for mud probe areas and places with wet clay, like here in Virginia. I see sheds all the time on some precarious concrete blocks, often on a hill, but that would scare me. This one is huge, so I'd go for the prepared gravel for drainage and stability.
The managers of a nearby Mfg home park are siting the new homes going in with the frames and the gravel. It looks clean and strong. The gravel is six to eight inches thick. I think the moisture barrier is under the gravel, but I haven’t been around to actually see that.
Understand people "You can't fix stupid" After one winter and spring thaw that shed will be sinking and leaning one way or the other. Just pure laziness and cheap attitude.
My 14x40 sits on a granite gravel/concrete dust mix that hardened up like asphalt. The lawn timbers hold the shape and the shed sits on 18 inch piers on flat cement pads. Its strapped down with four foot bolt anchors. Steady..
I bought a 2" by 12" wood plank and cut it 5 foot long and then lay it across the forks on my mule. Then I load the block flat across the 5 feet of board, then stacked layers of block to carry them like he was trying to do. 2 blocks high, 5 across for 10 blocks then extras on the next layer. They don't fall off because they are spread across the board then stacked on each other. I normally could carry about 12 blocks before the mule could not lift without tipping forward. My mule did not have tracks, just the tractor style wheels. Then I would just drive around the building dropping block where it was needed. I stored the 5 foot long 2x12 board between the cab and the mule carrier on the truck. I used it on all deliveries to carry my block (and tools on top the blocks).
Cool video. Cooler fundraiser. I would encourage everyone to give. This should be the highest priority for us as a nation. Every political party, church, and citizen should be working to end this kind of trafficking.
Looks like the new owners did not put any forethought or site preparation before this delivery, amazing how lax some people can be, after all this is no small or cheap shed, it's going to be their home, and it's a good size for that, still you both did the best you could, and that's all you can do, it's up to them now.

Those base pads are being installed upside down. The open end goes down so it digs in, and the smooth side should be up so it doesn't collect water.
There are nubs on the smooth side that grip the ground and drainage holes for water. The smooth side is less likely to sink.
