One of the greatest movie themes ever composed.
Ta muzuka jest super.
The quintessential War movie. This one has it all.
Big stars.
Great Plot.
Jaw dropping visuals,
and a music score that fit's the theme and pace of the movie. 10/10
I just hope next time...
It will be an all
British Operation
Absolutely correct. The ultimate picture with everything one could expect from such a epic novel
Best war movie soundtrack ever!
G Gauge Spur G LGB Piko brilliant 🏴❤️🌹🥂🙏
Not Yet.
Superb Ron Goodwin Score!!!!!
The sound track to this war film is absoulutely Class, definitely 10/10 rating.
you are right Francis. And the thing is, they DON'T make themes like this anymore on movies. There might be a couple of exceptions. But after the 90s, MOST MOVIES OF ANY GENRE are lousy!!
One of the best soundtracks ever made!
I saw this film first when I was like 12 in the late eighties when it went on TV and my dad had it recorded to VHS, and I was so blown away with it. I watched it time and time again. I know almost all the lines by heart man. Von Hapen yelling "Sit down, colonel!" with that pretend German accent is a favourite, and Ingrid Pitt "Here are all the things you'll need" while really making sure we get a good look at her cleavage. And Clint Eastwood "We've got company" and "Broadsword calling Danny Boy!" Man what a film! Just good, fun, beautiful, super exciting, entertaining action. I've seen thousands of expensive, impressive, philopsophical, well-written, pretentions films since then and Where Eagles Dare is still the film of my life man! Play this at my funeral!
What can you say Ron Goodwin soundtrack....this and Battle Of Britain = best opening scenes of any movie.
Pure class. Richard Burton made some great statements. He was also in D Day the longest day and there's a scene in the film where he is being rescued as he had parachuted out of his spitfire and had broken his leg. He had killed a German soldier who amusingly had his boots on the wrong way. Just pure class as we are us Brits. We still have some hidden snakes in our great country to expose and cleanse ourselves of. When we have achieved that we can again climb to the top.

The ultimate WWII hollywood movie intro! Epic!
Majestic music from my favourite film of all time! Saw it first in January 1969 and many times since. I watch my video at least twice a year and never get tired of it.
Absolutely correct
This is the true art of Film scoring........the detail to compose for one snare drum , then another at the same pitch....followed by a third of deeper pitch ....and then to top it all when the orchestra comes in to add another at higher pitch is genius........I have not even mentioned the amazing bass drum sound at 34secs !!!
The chord progression is beautiful and It brings to a really elegant modulation. I saw the film Yesterday and this soundtrack was perfect for the film. It also kind of reminds me of Wagner with those horns.
Great ears Raymond .
I was born 1968 - where Eagles are beatufiul
Cool
Superbe Millesime
Ironically this fantastic theme is now often used in music classes as an introduction to composition in the fugal form.
One of the best film main themes EVER. Well done Mr Goodwin.
Just as an aside, during the filming of the cable car sequence, Richard Burton was so drunk, he had to be physically strapped to the cable car, just in case he fell off. And yes the music is perfect, "Broadsword calling Danny Boy"; The Wild Geese is another near perfect war film starring Burton.
Yeah Rich was great but he always had that "What time do the pubs open round here" look about him ....
Brilliant soundtrack. One of my all time favorite films. I couldn't wait for the Christmas TV film season to announce when this would be on. I used to watch this with my Dad. from top to bottom this a great movie. Broadsword calling Danny Boy...Come in Danny Boy! Love it!
What a war movie! Full of testosterone!
Now they are all full of soy...
I watched this movie in cinema for the first on New Years Day 1970 when I was 9 years old.
Me too!!!🤝
Good old days...
Richard Burton was a great great actor ..❤️
This posting is great if you want the clean sound of just the orchestra. But the other posting on YT with the aircraft engines included is serious goosebumps. When the plane roars over the main title, my hair stands on end! Never fails.
"Broadsword calling Danny Boy! Broadsword calling Danny Boy!"
All sins forgivin... Over!
Best ever soundtrack for a war film. Makes me wish that I had of been an OSS/SOE agent in WW2. Stirring soundtrack. Great film.
O.K it is unrealistic, but it is still a very enjoyable film.
And like all great films it is very atmospheric which is rare in a lot of war films.
You can feel the discomfort of the good guys. Great cast my favourite being General Rosemaier (Ferdy Mayne). Wish I had of been around in 1968-9 to have seen it in the big screen.
I would prefer to be in the Fallschirmjager, Brandenburger or Anwehr.
Any day.
I was & it was great on the big screen.
Yeah it would have been great until the Kommado Order ... where any special forces , Commandos, parachutist, spy's, where dealt with in the severist terns by the ss , Gestapo, RHSA , , , bastards.....
@@blaumax918 Why would you want to fight for Hitler?
@@balgaadrian4046 Why do you want to fight for Churchill?
All the buttons popped off my shirt from my inflated chest while listening to this.
Best boxing day film ever, after the great escape of course!!! RIP Richard Burton, a good man, a good welshman.
Lots of heavy brass makes the sound great.
Awesome War Movie!A masterpiece!
Iron Maiden wrote a song with the same title"Where Eagles Dare"(inspired by the movie) 🤘⚔️
A top notch opening to a top notch WW2 adventure yarn - with a bravura sample of the best sort of main title music...perfectly setting the mood of anticipation among the high
snowy peaks that are a foretaste of the fortress Schloss Adler to come!
Simply the best opening scene movie music ever written.
Together with Zeppelin (1971) my two favourite war movie soundtracks
Goosebumps… loved this movie when I was a kid, still do.
One of my other half's two favourite movies, such a great piece of music...
I'm an American and honestly I never gave a damn if the actor was British or American, Richard Burton is a great one so is Micheal Caine and Clint Eastwood is a great actor too.
Music lovers who died b4 1968 have missed this music gem...
This is a true Symphony by Ron Goodwin. "Allegro con moto e tema fugato"
All the way through- well controlled bursts from a STEN gun the snare drums. Love it!
A GREAT MOVIE EVER & THE DRAMATIC MUSIC!!!!
WITH A TWIST AT THE END TO IT!!!!!!!!!
GREAT ACTING TO ALL THEN INDEED!!!
RICHARD BURTON,CLINT EASTWOOD.MARY URE.INGRID PITT.
CLINT IS THE ONLY AROUND- R.I.P. TO THE OTHERS.
As I travel throughout Europe, I always play the DVD in my hotel at night. The music inspires me to keep driving onward. I must have wathed it dozens of times. One of the best WWII films for me. Great cast and the music is in a class by its own, a cut above.................Tarentino was supposed to do a remake but he chose Inglorious Bastards instead, far below WED! He fucked up.
One of the best moments in Movie making.
The best film score for a war movie ever written!
心に残る映画音楽! 雪の山岳地帯を縫いながら飛ぶドイツ軍輸送機。
しかしてその実態は、、、
私の一番好きな映画音楽。二番目は大脱走。
I believe I saw a picture of one a while back, still being used for parachute training.
wow. Thanks for putting the focus on that music.
Very epic great film
The theme song for Magnificent Seven... that is THE BEST composition and soundtrack of any movie...bar none.
Absolutely LOVED this movie as a kid. Now it looks like a pretty standard war movie. But the music is truly memorable.
The movie was fantastic and the acting superb, they could not have found a better cast to play the characters if they had tried.
They made one mistake in this movie the helicopter in the court yard of the castle was not built to after the war.
Respect
Although both the allies and the Germans did have helicopters at the end of the European War, mostly for pilot rescue Sikorski R-4 & transport where Storchs could not go, Focke-Wulf Drache, & Flettner Hummingbird afaik.
O
fantastic soundtrack and brilliant movie
Beatifulf soundtrack
One of the ultimate guy flicks.
World class soundtrack, Burton + Eastwood + nesbitt world class. X
fioretto chiama danny boy...fioretto chiama danny boy.... grande film visto mimimo 30 volte! grande Clint!
A film made at a time when you could actually read the credits in reasonable comfort.
With genuine "movie stars" 👍(so far from today's impostors)
can't beat that, a little understated beginning. But you need a wacked out of his mind drummer. But insanity on the drums, works, so go with it.
Fabulous drumming
Uno dei miei film preferiti
Magnificent. Saw the movie yesterday :D Loved the music and the movie itself.
Film che rivisto 10 volte. Fantastico
I never get tired of this
...come erano reali i film di un tempo, una meraviglia....
probably one of the 1st war films i ever saw xmass 1972 at school, now have a collection of over 200 war films
I watch this movie all the time with my Dad its such a good movie
Just pure Epicness!!!
Just such a tragic passing of Mary Ure so early in her life, too.
*The white painted triple propeller engine JUNKERS Ju-52 call sign “HB-HOP” crashed Aug 4, 2018 on a Swiss mountain. She was looking so airworthy in this movie RIP. But Clint Eastwood’s is is still going wrong, I mean strong! Bangkok-Johnnie CarSanook Media THAILAND*
Superb sound track

It doesn't get any better than this!
Can't get better than this can it?
Adoro questo film
one of my all time favourites ! R Burton was great in this 🤪
GREAT film VERY good muisc 5*s
I Love it.
Great soundtrack.war.movies❤️
Art is good. Scandinavian cave paintings are among the worlds best. We spent a lot of time in caves due to the cold in the stone age. Outside of making love to our gorgeous women we painted a lot. I cant remember reading or learning about any American cave paintings? I guess you lot got out a bit more or were less artistically inclined.
It's tough... Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator... Where Eagles Dare...Zulu...633 Squadron...Dambusters... Battle of Britain... Great Escape... and of course..The Right Stuff
Terrific score. Thanks
Very strong work 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Gran film❤
Best film ever never to be beaten
Cool nice Film....sehr schön !!
Epic!
Great Burton.actor❤️❤️❤️❤️
best movie ever
legendary !
epic!!
made very beautiful and meaningful. in part of it, you hear the scream of eagles ! 3.17
Broadsword calling Danny Boy
This is emergency! Get me the Oberhausen airfield, immediately!
Smart comment ....man respect
Lieutenant Schaffer
Joseph Saliba Wouldn’t it be funny if he was related to Dutch Schaffer from Predator!
Very strong music for not strong movie
I love ju 52s auntie ju.
Headbangers love it too.
