Yuffies outfit looks simple to make too! A cut up green sleeveless turtle neck
Only thing i would add is about the animation when entering punisher mode, while that white swirl animation is active, you will parry an attack that hits you. so if you are in operator mode and about to be hit, triangle will parry the attack put you into punisher mode for the follow up
THIS! this is such a crucial tip for maximizing combat efficiency
Yes I constantly find myself switching in between basic attacks Everytime I see the opponent twitch to stay on my toes lolol. The fluidity is fun when you can land it
Damn I gotta remember that.
I usually hold block, then switch over to punisher mode.
In between the attacks in operator if you see the opponent moving in any way just tap triangle and switch just to stay ahead. Sometimes their animations can be tricky especially against new enemies
Cool thing about the attack animations in operator mode is that if you look closely, its really similar to Zack's attack animations and stance in Crisis Core. Punisher mode is closer to Sepiroth's style which makes sense because Zack was also trained by Sepiroth and likely created his own style based on Sepiroth's moves. On the whole it just feels like a far more fleshed out version of Crisis Core's combat.
Great insight I loved crisis core! That's some really good attention to detail. I can't wait to see how the rest of this unfolds in part 2
Oh wow, never realized that
Is made like that for a reason remember he thinks he is Zack later he probably will change his battle style
Yup, but hey do you mind adjusting the comment a bit for spoilers if possible? Don't wanna ruin it for other viewers
You can use L1+L2/R2 to shortcut non used party members aswell
That is an amazing tip man thank you!
damn this is really useful, thx man
your combat guides have made my playthrough 10x more fun!
Ayyye happy to hear that! Make sure to check out the end game guides to really bust the game open. The new top secrets guide from 2 weeks ago is fire
Am sure most know this by now, but you don't HAVE to Block in Punisher mode to Parry, you can actually Block/Parry during the transition from Operator to Punisher Mode! That light puff of smoke that surrounds Cloud while switching stances, if he is attacked during that he will automatically Parry! It's a great way to do Parry damage on the fly & increase that Stagger gauge!
Fascinating stuff! I’m a lazy button masher so I keep as many healing options on hand as I can and try to find online info on upcoming bosses! It’s gotten me through 7 or 8 Final Fantasy versions with multiple play throughs each! I’ve always admired players who deeply analyze the battle systems though. I’m here for the stories I reckon!
same! 😂 altho I'm not so much lazy and more very inexperienced at combat. Hanging in there by the skin of my teeth and healing potions. Thank goodness for online guides and an awesome story otherwise I would have never dared to play an RPG!
great explanation, I've been spamming what you've taught so far, and mygawdd the combat is sick especially between switching out to slowmo then being all DMC and shit
That's awesome to hear! Sorry I'm just now seeing this. I'm making the advanced character guide for cloud right now! Hopefully it can be out tomorrow
Thanks for the tips! I had no idea that Punisher Mode can parry. This will definitely come in handy in the upcoming chapters in this game. I have to say, this game is awesome! For special abilities and magic, I normally rely on X since I still haven’t gotten the hang of using the shortcuts, no matter how much I tried. XD
No worries! Shortcuts aren't necessary to enjoy the game it's just an option for those who like to move faster. The command menu still is better because you can analyze your surroundings and stuff.
Thanks for the guide bro helped a lot!
Much love bro happy to hear! I saw you play ff14 the other day. I wanna get back into I have a max level Dragoon and Samurai. I stopped playing after beating that nightmare trial extreme Dancing plague lol
great explanation, really helped me out just starting this game thanks!
You're welcome! That's exactly what I had in mind when designing all of these guides! Wait till you see the tifa one! Advanced guides are coming soon after I get more abilities and materia
Best guide I've seen on this game, can't wait for the others!
Check out the advanced cloud guide i released yesterday! I also have a stagger pressure video you will absolutely love. Tifa's advanced guide is in the works right now
@@BltzZ Oops I meant to comment this on the Advanced guide! All are good though lol.
@@adamthemute haha no worries man I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed them all
WOW! That was awesome! Nicely done man
Yooo thanks man! Be sure to check out the other as well as cloud and Tifas advanced guides. Tifa I just released!
Great video. You got straight to the point and explained everything very well. Got exactly what I came here for. New sub
Haha thanks dude! I appreciate that ALOT. I normally don't get that comment saying I get to the point usually because in these earlier videos I tend to ramble a lot XD so prepare. But some good advanced videos other than the advanced character guides are the infinite health build, instant limit break build and unlimited atb build. Those change the game up dramatically and are so much fun
Fantastic video! Capitalizing on Clouds Fury buff can be stacked with applying berserk on an enemy! Doubles the effect and when combined with stagger, crit, and elemental weakness cloud's punisher mode does some unworldly damage
Yup especially elemental attacks for cloud he hits like a truck! I have a stagger pressure video up too be sure to check that out for an amazing use of the time materia. Be sure to stay tuned for the advanced guides for all characters coming soon
I played tifa most of the game myself but one thing i would add for cloud is that you can use the parry materia to have the ability to dodge while in punisher mode. Its very useful and covers the one weakness that cloud's punisher mode has :D
Another viewer mentioned that and I'm shooting to unlock parry as we speak haha halfway through the wall market portion now
Thank you explaining parry! I died due to misunderstanding the concept. Now I know what to do!
You're welcome! Same with me from the beta I thought it had to be perfect timing Everytime. Which caused me to die a lot lol
man this is amazing, thx for this guide, subbed
Happy to hear that! Be sure to check out my cloud advanced guide and the new video we just dropped today! Stagger pressure is also a hot one too. Plenty of information dropping this week basically haha
At first, this game battle system looks like FF XV, but after playing it awhile this battle system feel so different. It like mix and match between FF classic ATB system, GCD based FF XIV system, and Kingdom hearts active battle.
Yes they definitely combined and took a lot from their other recent games systems which is a cool callback imo. I love the combat system, especially when you take the time to understand it and watch the opponents movements. It becomes infinitely better and more enjoyable. That's why I love making these guides for you all so we can understand the mechanics in the best way possible!
@@BltzZ I like setting the L1 shortcuts based on each character's innate button layouts. Like on tifa, L1-sq. is overwhelm to weave in between her regular attacks for the added damage and atb dump. Circle is that focused hit since it also kind of has a dodge roll. I think I'd have cloud's circle shortcut on that nail bat attack that switches his stance, so if I roll out of punisher form I can combo back into it
That's really smart and a good way to stay consistent with each characters mapping and abilities. This game is going to be so much fun when released on PC next year I already feel it haha
Actually so so helpful - thanks!
Happy to hear that it helped you out! Be sure to check out the cloud advanced guide :) as well as the other characters! Those are phenomenal and you'll enjoy that tifa and Barret one i promise
Great guides, thank you!!
Happy to hear that Pablo be sure to check out the advanced guides for all the character :)
Brilliant combat guide, bravo, detailed yet easy to understand..
Happy to hear that man I'm glad you like it and found it super helpful! Hoping to see you around the channel more often
@@BltzZ your welcome 👌
This is gonna change my gameplay so much. I’ve already beat the game on normal but am struggling on chapter 8 on hard. Thanks for the video man
No worries man! Make sure you refer to the advanced guides too and boss guides if needed! Also of you are playing Intergrade. I highly recommend checking out the synergy video!
First playthrough: my style based on what I got
Second playthrough: dance on the battlefield
Thats pretty much how it felt to me
Once you get into the combat and fully understand the mechanics. You just dominate! Check out the stagger video I released there are some amazing tips in there many others haven't known to be possible
I'm glad someone like you exists. Learning a lot from your vids. . .
I'm happy you guys are finding these videos so helpful!
For some crazy fun later be sure to check out the infinite health, unlimited atb and instant limit break builds I made ✊🏾
this helped me out, especially for the ending. omg.
Super happy and appreciate that the video was helpful to you and many others. It's been my dream to make ff7 content over the years and finally doing so is unreal. I can't wait to finally beat it but I've been taking my sweet time with it haha only just got to the rude fight haha
@@BltzZ u can poison/sleep them.
Really useful and entertaining content man I subbed 👍👍
Happy to hear man welcome to the channel!
Using that Berserker mode just as you Stagger an enemy and then follow up with the most powerful move you can will do CRAZY damage. Specially if you have a Limit Break ready to go. Berserk combined with a Stagger & Limit Break will do insane damage.
Great content! Subbed!
Thank you! I just uploaded the Aerith guide! Now I can focus on unlocking all the abilities and making the advanced guides for you guys!
Thanks this was really helpful
You're absolutely welcome! Be sure to checkout the advanced guides too for a better grasp and indepth look to everyone!
This realllyy helped me out. Thx bro

@@BltzZ just did
nice non spoiling guide! gj
You're welcome! If you want the advanced guides I have made one for every character but expect moves and ability spoilers for those. But be sure to check them out or save them to watch later especially the Barret and Tifa advanced guides :). The new Barret build I just uploaded is doing extremely well too!
I saw a couple videos of reviewers complaining about the combat system. I'm sure they never took the time to explore it. This game is really deep, fun, & customizable. I learned a few things from this video. Thanks.
I appreciate you saying that! Yes I feel the same way. Noone made videos about the information I wanted to know so I decided to make it myself. Yes I don't have every ability but as long as I can explain the bass foundation and gameplan to you guys, that's all that matters! What else I love about it is it's not just a hack and slasher. You really have to defend and dodge attacks and work through certain mechanics like staggers etc. A lot of people not like the combat are those who keep attacking blindly and keep getting interrupted. It's easy to get into that habit especially early on haha I have that issue myself from time to time. But I absolutely love it. I want to have a tough time beating bosses and having to figure out to change my playstyle. Most games nowadays don't push players to actually think and that's what I find is missing often. Sorry for the long tangent haha I just agree with you to the max!
@@BltzZ respect bro. I'ma subscribe to you.
Hey man I appreciate that! Welcome to the channel I can't wait to bring the aerith guide and a few others I have planned
@@BltzZ You should play outward after finishing this, you most likely will love it too.
also thanks a lot for showing some actual gameplay of cloud, I always looked at how others are playing and said, jeez either cloud is being downplayed a lot or the developers made him like a ''smash button to attac till thing is ded' It really was refreshing to see this video since I hate when people just use like 10% of the potential of the melee characters
@@xLuis89x haha thanks for the recommendation I'll definitely check that out! I'm the same way I hate when noone uses the others or just braindead swings around as cloud lol. I make fighting game guides and I've always loved final fantasy so I wanted to use that concept for guides to show people how to properly play the game so you can enjoy it more. I appreciate that you love the content! The tifa guide is a really big hit right now too
Awesome video man. There are a couple things to consider about Punisher mode though: you can actually parry by changing from Operator into Punisher right before the attack hit; the indicator being the wind like effect surrounding you. This would allow some crazy combos and doesn’t disrupt your chain. Guarding in Punisher also doesn’t reduce much damage like Operator.
I definitely overuse the Punisher mode to be MLG parry, but it backfire so many time lol
I appreciate you sharing that! Yes I utilize the triangle parry mid combo switches and it's fluidity is so fun. Don't worry ill double back and include this in my advanced guides im making this week about all the characters once I get every ability!
I had no idea about the berserk move. Learned something different today
I'm happy to hear that man, if I teach you guys even just 1 thing that's all I care about. Be sure to check out the other character guides. Advanced guides are coming soon as possible maybe today. I just released a stagger guide that has a tip that will blow your mind. Be sure to check that out
I absolutely love how the game revolves around staggering the enemy, since exploiting weaknesses has always been the most satisfying combat style for me. I am watching this video because I JUST KNOW that I’m not maximizing the higher damage the game said Punisher Mode has!
Eyyy a 'bio roxas' for ff7 i love it! Keep it up buddy.
For sure man thank you! Stay tuned for more ff7 coverage working on a aerith guide and of course we will be making advanced ones on all these characters
I do the same for mortal kombat and smash as well
Really good guide. Great info
Happy to hear this friend. Be sure to check out the others I've released as well. Barret yesterday and Tifa just a few hours ago!
Hey to answer your tifa Unbridled question. Once you use Omni strike it immediately gets rid of the buff reverting her back to normal status..but when you are level 3 Unbridled and use rise and fall you revert to level 2 and have omnistrike now. Also there is a timer over her triangle button hud. It shows how much duration is left before it's gone
@@BltzZ lol thanks i removed the comment because i thought i was stupid and was just gonna play the game tonight anyways. You have any plan on making like a full combat guide, on like utilizing all the characters and when and where to switch between them. I love this combat system and how you feel like a God when you get those satisfying combos in.
@@TheDudeMaaaan no worries man I'm always happy to answer any questions! That's a good idea, I'll work on the concept for that! Much appreciated
If you're in punisher mode and need to clear some distance and have an atb, use triple slash to clear the space.
Great content. I hope you'll do a breakdown of each character's abilities, as it's hard to know when to use each. For Cloud, for example, which ability gives the best DPS/ATB?
First off nice name! And second of all I will be doing these for all characters for sure! I just released the advanced guide for cloud today so be sure to check that out and let me know what you think!
Ty for the parry
You're welcome but be sure to check out the cloud advanced guide I just released! Tifas advanced guide is coming out tomorrow. Clouds advanced guide will change your whole game up
Thx man, I didnt know you could hold the parry... I thought you need to time the parry perfectly when changing to the punisher. Same goes for the hold square part too.
No problem! Glad these are helping you guys out a ton!
Lol... I'm about 35 hours in and I didn't realize any of this. Makes me want to start over now.
Don't worry friend that's what the hard mode play thru will be for! Just master that and all the other characters and you'll be good. Idk if you haven't yet, cuz I'm going through the comments in order right now. But check out the tifa guide I made. A lot of people did not know of her capabilities with combo routes and leveling up!
For real man. I’m the same. Wasn’t even using punisher mode and didn’t know about the damage buff. Thanks man. 😎
Haha now you can maximize that cloud damage output!
Did you know you can cast stop on a staggered enemy to free the drain of their stagger gauge?
Absolutely awesome for getting high stagger damage buffs
Great video bro I think this is the first guide I’ve seen of this type, the only thing I’d suggest here is maybe talking about Clouds special abilities and weapon buffs as they can dramatically change the flow of battle. Other than that you got my sub keep it up
Most definitely! This will be a part of the advanced guides coming this week so stay tuned
BltzZ sorry bro I just watched your Aerith video and realised these were the first versions. That’s awesome I can’t wait, your videos are incredibly detailed and engaging bro!
All good bro! I'm glad you enjoyed them all wow! That's super cool to hear. I've almost gotten all materia now just going to further the story a bit to get aerith back
Thanks for this guide, think you can do one for tips on how to get enemies to stagger?
Great idea! I'll release that after Aeriths guide :) stay tuned for that. Tifas guide was released yesterday and it's getting a lot of love

After playing this game i cant wait for the next one.
Yes sir! Be sure to checkout the infinite health build and the instant limit break build to absolutely break the game! You are going to lol when you see what can be done
Dear Blitz... ur statements are so precise and this video presentation is so well planned... its like i have to focus to keep up with ur words n video... this should be a ROLE MODEL to *HOW TO* series in any games... 👍

@@BltzZ 💖💖💖
@@projectanimation1 Hey the Barret Guide is up now!
don't need to tap triangle and hold block, merely hitting triangle is a punisher parry in and of itself. it's pretty sick. but if you hit triangle too early for that window then yeah follow it up by blocking.
Damn didn't even know bout the berserk mode..thanks man!
A lot of players dont so it's super valuable! The game doesn't directly tell you about this but it's so helpful especially when you get them staggered cloud can really put in work
Berserk mode?
@@larrygarcia6356 well idk thats the actual name but i know its a buff you get if you hold down square
It's the beserk buff that cloud gets when you hold down square while in punisher mode. He flashes red and if the attack lands you'll see he gets a buff under his life bar. This increases damage dealt and damage taken for 10 seconds
It's also a wise idea to hold Square for that Berserk bonus when the enemy is Pressured or about to be Staggered, that way you can dish out huge damage while they are Staggered! The extra damage you take isn't a worry if the enemy is already Staggered! The 30% damage buff also works for spells too!
Actually, the damage increase seems to kind of be random between 25 & 30%, so maybe it's best to just say that it increases damage by 25%.
This helped me because for awhile i assumed that the only way to parry was pressing triangle lmao
It's funny I've reached platinum without knowing the normal parry 🤣😂
Hahaha that's actually really funny, welp I'm on that grind as well myself! Making the character advanced guides right now as we speak
This was my childhood game. I really loved it and I can't believe how much time has passed since then. I wanted the platinum, since my only other one is on the ff7 original. I usually don't care about things like that, but that game forced me 😂
And I was willed to do so 😄
Got it after 81 hours of gametime and it was really tough. To know the enemies from the previous version though, helped me a lot in combat 😄
But good video anyway. Appreciate it 😊
That's awesome to hear man it's my childhood game as well from 1998. I couldn't put it down! Happy to be making videos about it for you guys. Can't wait till the second one comes out!
This game right here, made me a fan of rpg's. And that before I could tell the difference between other genres. I hope that a lot of the younger gamers will notice how important this game was and join the hype, that never got least. Maybe remake will bring some fans back to the classic version. And just to show them how beautiful it was, playing this game
Of course for sure I think this game has retaken the world by storm again for veterans and new fans. In general I think FF7 is the gateway game for RPGs. After that every game I played besides MGS was an RPG and freaking loved them all. Funny story, my cousin introduced me to ff7 when he spent the weekend by me. We tried to see if we can beat it all but we didn't even beat disc 1 haha. So after he left I asked my mom if she can take me to the flea market to buy it. I only knew it was called final fantasy so when I asked for it the game shop dude Gave me the latest one..which was ff8 I had no idea till I got home and started to realize these characters don't look the same lmao. My cousin had beaten it and we traded ff8 and ff7 to each other and man I no lifed that game for like a month I swear.
Great video dude. I watched the one on Tifa yesterday and it was really informative. Lots of details in her skills I never noticed on my first playthrough. On hard more now and getting my butt kicked you really have to plan you strategy and be smart instead og just grinding through.
I had forgotten that L1 bring the quick select for abilities and that holding square does area damage. Since materia selection is crucial on hard more I don't have deadly doge materia equipped anymore,
Awesome to hear man I'm happy! Did you see the advanced guides? Those are definitely the superior ones to this. I have tons more stuff coming out be sure to check out the best materia video and barrets advanced guide. I have a sick combination in there with enemy skill that will help you live longer on hard mode :)
@@BltzZ no I haven't watched all your stuff but when i get home I will make sur to subscribe and watch more. I am at Hell house on hard more and got my ass handed to me haha
Haha oh man! That's a rough boss most definitely. Use poison and equip Elemental with lightning on the armor slot to absorb and heal some health back! I have an amazing guide for beating the final secret boss if you're up for that!
@@BltzZ got the end of the last stage and surprise! Damn cutter and sweeper got me haha I'll come back to this chapter once I get my weapons fully maxed out and get the second elemental materia I miss in chapter 14
Awesome! If you need materias maxed out I just posted a quick video on the fastest way to level them up!
Cloud with first strike materia, opening every battle with triple slash ends almost every small battle immediately. Triple slash not being mentioned in this combat guide is almost criminal, but it was a great look at his melee combat.
Was going to talk about his and the rest of the characters other abilities in an advanced guide when I unlock them all. Taking my time with the game enjoying every frame haha.
You can also tap triangle to counter attack too. Works like a block.
Yes, in the video I showcase that but mistakingly said you still have go hold R1 which is not the case. Tapping triangle puts a white aura around cloud and if enemies strike there it parries. Very quick option to use mid combos
By just pressing triangle the moment a melee attack is coming the animation of entering punisher mode will auto parry the melee attack for a quick easy counter.
Basically put while recovering from a combo or just trying to avoid a group, just tapping triangle is your easy escape tool
Yup! Another viewer mentioned this last week. I kind of showcased it in the video 2:26 but I labeled that you still had to hold block after which was untrue. So it technically is there
@BltzZ Great guide on the early content! Was hoping you could investigate for a later video a few more things about Cloud- no other videos have covered these topics in depth AFAIK so you'd be the first:
1. I've seen some boss fight videos where cloud has some alternate evade animations besides the standard dodge roll. Namely, he can either footstool over his attacker or in some cases do a cartwheel flip away from danger. Can you see if these have any better/different properties compared to dodge rolling? And are alternate evasions something unique to Cloud?
2. I've seen some cases in punisher mode where Cloud was definitely already committed to an attack but somehow he managed to perform a parry anyway mid-swing. What's going on here?
3. Cloud's disorder ability is slow, kinda low damage and seems relatively useless. Is there any niche utility to this move?
4. If there's only one enemy in the fight, how does triple slash DPS measure up against braver DPS?
I appreciate the great content and editing you put into your videos! Thanks for all your work.
Awesome! I'll be sure to include all of these for clouds advanced guide. I'm working on a pressure and stagger video for release tomorrow morning. I found an amazing trick you can do that blew my mind. I should be able to finish it tonight
Sweet
Just wanted to say, I'm one of those annoyingly hyper critical types. I know we're a bit annoying and we tend to criticise a lot, far more than most ask for, but still, I've no complaints here.
Man, what a well designed, succinct and structurally sound video. I played FF7R, but am playing through again for Rebirth and have really found your vids super useful. Granted, I beat the game just fine before, but it's always nice to know extra bits.
Anyway, thanks, dude.
Thank you so much for the kind words. It's kinda funny you have amazing timing. We made this guide and a bunch others 4 years ago.
But now with rebirth I made a return and just uploaded my cloud Rebirth guide 1 hour ago! Feel free to check it out haha. It's more natural and relaxed than these ones were made back in the dAy
When switching to Punisher mode, the white effect signifies you will auto parry in that window.
Yup, I did not realize that and mentioned you need to hold R1 as well. I showcased this around the 2:30 mark in the video but incorrectly stated you have to hold R1. But this isn't the case. If you tap Triangle going into punisher the white aura will parry incoming attacks. A fast alternative for mid combo switches!
@@BltzZ I need to test, the white effect is there when you switch back into operator. I don't know if there's a parry there as well. Should be due to the visual, but can't say for sure.
Unfortunately it doesn't. I can confirm as I've tried many times thinking I was in the other mode haha
@@BltzZ good to know, saves me from looking like an idiot while getting beat down.
The only thing i have to say is the Parry Materia allows cloud to dodge in punisher and stay in said mode, not sure if intended but figured id post it here.
That sounds awesome, I'll have to check that out when I get the parry materia!
Awesome vid bro. Thanks for the tips 🙌🏽🙌🏽
You're absolutely welcome! Stay tuned for the advanced tips and guides coming this week
I’ll be waiting
From the builds one that captivated the most was sharpedge with iron maiden you get raw power and defense no fancy materias cause also they are a pain in the butt to upgrade but had to stick with the iron sword cause i needed to upgrade them materias
Yeah that makes sense because you can hold 3 I believe in the iron sword and maximize that AP gain
Mostly iron maiden it doesn't have any slots for materia but you get whooping defense it's worth it. Try those 2 trade mind for muscle :)
Thanks! I definitely will man I appreciate you giving me that tip
well for me during your video i am currently on normal mode(replaying this game again and at the part you are at i am currently level 21) so i am a bit op right now :)
NIce! Clap Them UP!!!
The one main benefit to shortcuts is that the player doesn't lose rhythm of combat for certain actions.
Like shortcutting overpower to square on tifa. The ability is a good ATB dump most especially for dealing increased damage following normal attacks (square button) I have certain set ups for each character but few shortcuts feel just as good as that or having cloud's triangle be counter stance to really bring out his counter attack button combo
Im loving focused thrust/strike/shot all on shortcuts. Soon as pressure shows up on enemies I'm shooting that stagger up immediately no questions asked haha. It's very diverse how you can go about it tho. It can be for rhythm it can be to last second counter or dodge with focused strike which jumps backwards
@@BltzZ you know? I've been contemplating having all of those moves on their circle shortcut, since those can cancel roll and roll is already on circle
Currently using defensive/trap abilities as priority, and focused skills on leftovers like Barret until I get mo'
@@verislie I have them all on my circle button as well haha. I'm making a video right now about staggers and pressure as well as a crazy new thing I just figured out that I can't believe works. Stay tuned for that to release tomorrow around 11am
@@BltzZ lustrous shield for Aerith's circle is pretty nice. Based on what I got so far. I usually have my X shortcut on moves that benefit from another action or ability being selected next (focused thrust>braver, starshower>something. Or based on what I'm trying to do, like steal from a certain boss, or cast fira on a pack of mobs, etc.
Edit: but im also on the cusp of making my X shortcuts being my upkeep abilities, like steelskin or unbridled rage
I used to have unbridled on a short cut but since feathered gloves have a 70 percent to start in level 2 I just select the abilities and keep attack moves on shortcuts for tifa. She's crazy versatile
Hey. Cool vid. Do your team members use their full arsenal to the best of their ability while playing as Cloud? I don't want to switch away from him ever.
Thank you sooooo damn much not only for the awesome combat help but for not explaining it over video of spoiling every late game special enemy like the idiots at Ign did!!!
Happy to help! I made this during chapter 5 when I first got the game to avoid spoilers. When you are ready I have some very advanced cool stuff out! For your hard mode playthrough I recommend looking into the synergy build
@@BltzZ I'll definitely have to check that out later, I'm having a hell of a time on normal and just found out that to get cloud more moves I was supposed to use the not as good weapons as the buster sword and max em out. I've gone through so many phoenix downs and potions and consequently Gil, now I have none left and I'm at chapter 9 with barely any moves and no money lol.
The berserk buff from punisher mode appears to have been changed. It lasts 5 seconds - at the most.
Do you have warding materia equipped? Sounds like something is reducing your debuff durations by half. Maybe debuff resistant on one of your weapons? Because berserk counts as a debuff I believe in game
Here’s a tip some ppl don’t know yet. Clouds punisher counter can be followed by counter stance skill. it’s amazing to use against bahamut. I posted a video of it
Edit: forgot to mention u can do either counter first then follow with the other
That is a great tip! Thanks for sharing man I'll be sure to include that in my advanced guide as well
Also you can switch operator to punisher and punisher to operator
But they're both different ways to
Switch mode
When you're on operator mode
You can hold the square button then once you see the blue slash switch to punsher mode then after that punisher can easily switch back to operator mode while doing combos
Yo that sounds interesting I gotta check that out man thanks!!
@@BltzZ accidently discovered when playing the demo
Yo I appreciate you sharing that tho man for real. I'm always happy to learn new stuff in the comments to try out and up my game!
hey BItzZ can you do a tutorial how to use magnify materia? thank you in advance!
Of course! Working on leveling it up beforehand as we speak
BltzZ awesome I’ll be on the lookout, you just got a new subscriber!
Glad to have you aboard! Almost have all the materia, abilities and weapons
I hope in the sequel they add more buttons for the quick menu, 4 shortcut commands just isn't enough. I'd honestly be happy if we could get 4 abilities, 2 spells, and 1 item on a shortcut for each character. I think with this I could honestly play this game in it's entirety without slowing down time.
probably carry over from KH3 where you can have 3 different shortcut menu sets
Cool vid. Where’s the fifa and barret ones?
Barret is rendering as we speak it will be uploaded in about 20 mins. Working on tifa today maybe to release later tonight as well
BltzZ legend man. Helped so much. Guess I was so exited to start playing, and I’m ashamed to admit it, but didn’t even know there was a parry move! Haha. What a noob. Thanks for the info man. Awesome
No worries! I understand haha this game is amazing and it's easy to just get sucked in and not worry about anything else haha so I understand trust me. I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful! Stay tuned Barret is coming as we speak
Hey bro the Barret guide is up!
'Him talking impressed about the shortcut system'
Me as a senior Kingdom Hearts Player: "Boy, you're talking to an expert"
would have been good to discuss some of his abilities and when to use them, not just his modes and auto-attack combos
Going to talk about his and the rest of the characters other abilities in an advanced guide when I unlock them all. Taking my time with the game enjoying every frame haha.
In the other characters guides I focused on their beginner abilities of what I had learning from this mistake in the cloud guide. Be sure to check those out!
You parry enemy attacks for a short period of time after going to punisher mode so you don’t need to hold block right away after switching to punisher mode
That's right!
Im so bad at this game. Idk, I watched like 10k tutorial videos and still I almost die every fight, I just dont get. But video is really great :)
Not a problem just remember to block and parry when you get the chance. Constantly stay mobile and moving the camera around. Also check my recent video from today about the best settings you have to change in the game menu to enjoy it more!
bro, can you do a materia guide? :(
Yup! Soon as I unlock them all and get all the characters abilities
Did I miss the tutorial
About holding down the square button to get other attacks or is it secret?
In the beginning of the game one of the combat tips mentions if you hold it down it does an aoe attack for cloud. As far as tifa goes I think it mentions it too but I was so excited to start fighting I just jumped straight into it haha
I'm in chapter 12 and didn't know most of the stuff in this video 😅
It’s funny you bring up how shortcuts “interrupt the flow of battles”, I find the exact opposite. Only use the shortcuts for cannon fodder, and even then I wanna make sure I have them assessed. When it comes to bigger bosses and more difficult enemies I’m always jumping into tactical. Jumping into tactical allows you to use other party members ATB turns as well. I’ve found in later fights that if you strictly play this like an action game, without using everyone’s ATB unless you manually switch over to them, can spell disaster.
Yup you have to utilize everyone properly! Tifa is a beast once enemies are staggered! I meant going through the menus can slow the battles down for some people but using the short cuts can speed things up and keep elements of action rpg alive!
I don't think the slow down ruins combat. It saves it when you give a character so many skills and magic in a non turn based game. Would have loved it in KH1-3. Would have probably give me a valid reason to focus a bit more on magic and not have to look away from the fight to go through the battle menu. In the corner of the screen. It also helps that it's not exactly a pause to the battle.
Oh man trust me the slowdown is my favorite thing! It helped me wreck the top secrets guide which I have a video for! Be sure to check that out as well as the other advanced guides for the characters
. My Build for Cloud is.. Hp Absorb + Deadly dogde. 2x HP UP. First Strike, Steadfast Block, Elemental on defence with whichever Ice, fire etc depending on situation And cure. Luck is optional if you want more critical damage.
That's a fun sounding build I'll have to experiment with that!
HP absorb DD combo is essential especially in hard mode clearing small crowds and getting a really good chunk of health back without the use of magic. P.S thanks for the acknowledgement, appreciated 👍🏾
Real question, does steadfast block also lower the damage received while parrying as well?
I believe another viewer wrote something about this but I almost have it unlocked and will let you know. Also I will be making a advanced guide with all characters abilities and materia combinations
👍
You actually don't need to tap the block button after hitting Triangle to Parry. He has a small window when switching to Punisher mode that will do an automatic Parry if being attacked during that window. No need to hit block at all :)
Yup! I'm constantly hitting these nonstop today and it feels so gooood. Just keep swapping Everytime the opponent twitches haha
You also take 75% reduce damaged compared to just 50% reduced damage as well, if you block within that time window.
@@goshtic9565 so stance parry is 50 and stance parry + block is 75?
@@khoality102 No, you have to time it to get the improved damage reduction. When you go into punisher mode, there is a very short counter stance window that Cloud will activate without holding down block. If you hold down block the whole time while in punisher, the damage reduction is only 50% on that counter hit. Any further hit cloud get, becomes full damage taken. Some enemies continues to attack more than once, even if Cloud countered the first hit.
Or punisher mode parry materia moving around easily staying in punisher mode
Just use counterstance only as soon as you unlock it. It's honestly broken lol. It even work against most ranged attack.
I'm shooting to get that ability today! Thanks for the headsup. Advanced guides will be underway soon
what is parry vs counterstance? Counterstance is an actual ability
Both are counters but counterstance the ability is better. It can counter projectiles and mid combo cancel
@@BltzZ Ah. In that case I just haven't gotten that far. Taking my sweet time ;) . I was trying to find the grind spots but meh I'll just enjoy the game. Subbed and liked! Thanks!
Ah dude I'm sorry if I spoiled that! I was just trying to clarify didn't realize you haven't finished it :(. Welcome to the channel tho haha yes take your time man this game is absolutely so much fun!
Every now and then I notice cloud is shooting a green crescent shaped energy from his sword as a projectile how am I doing
That what is it
I am so dumb. I never figured out how to parry. Just thought you had to be in operator mode and time it right.
Haha no worries man atleast now you know! Be sure to checkout the advanced character guide I have for cloud!
I’m super critical of games, Period, but both the game and Bltzz are among the best I’ve ever came across, Period, this game is INCREDIBLE, and the way Bltzz makes his videos is the best, so SUBSCRIBE and find out for yourself!
Thanks dude that really means a lot to me! ❤️
One thing I have been wondering is if it really makes any difference to use a move with the Shortcut menu or just the regular Command menu. Is there really any difference? Are moves pulled off any faster using the Shortcut menu vs the Command menu that slows down time?
There is no inherent game benefits to shortcuts. It's mainly for gameplay style. Queued abilities is done in tactical mode (selecting two or more abilities on the same character) which can be beneficial for burst
It's just a preference for the player. I use shortcuts mainly for pressured enemies so I can stagger them easily. I also use Divekick whenever tifa does whirlwind uppercut to make it feel like an action game haha. But yes using the command menu can help you queue up multiple moves and switch to other characters easily. You can also switch to another character to cast a spell and stay playing as another if you want which is interesting.
@@BltzZ Oh so ur saying that using a move via the Shortcut does more pressure/stagger? You mentioned using the shortcut makes them stagger easier, how so?
@@seanvermilion7256 QUequed abilities? Since when are you able to pick more than one move at a time? Is that a feature unlocked later in the game? As far as I know you can only choose one ability or spell at a time.
@@skins4thewin no it's does not. It's just easier for me to access on the fly personally making it a smoother one button click. Just my preference. It does not change how much stagger is inflicted..
I am new to FF, new to RPS's, new to combat and new to playstation. I had to draw the controller on a piece of paper to remember the buttons 😳 I'm now on chapter 14 (easy mode) and still don't feel I understand wtf is going on with combat. I really wish there were guides for COMPLETE noobs (aka idiots like me). You experienced gamers automatically assume we understand what you're saying... I mean, I am grateful for these guides... but ya'll talk so fast I can't keep up! 😂
So you just need to hold down R1 while in punisher mode to parry?
Yup, cloud has 2 parry's. That one and counter stance
Question, how do u change Clouds sword?
Once you unlock and find more you can change them in the menu. Through the character ewuip menu
