In this video I'll show you how I go about installing this Secure Locking Drop Box and show a few features that we liked.
I installed it on a small concrete pad, which was the first time trying a pad that I needed to make flat . . . it was close, so I needed a bit of packing for the unit to make it sit level. Now it's secured down, it's nice and solid.

Hey, thank you so much for being such a good teacher. I just got the drop box because our USPS driver just drops our boxes at the end or our gate…not protected. If we don’t have a car parked hear the gate for her to (unsolicited) put in in the car our packages will be ruined either by our dogs or weather. Thanks “Hanging Out.”

Hey, what size drill bits did you use to drill the holes in the slab for the Ankascrews? and how deep? Thanks
Howdy, they were 8mm Ankascrews, so the drill bit size was 8mm, (that's how they are designed). This concrete pad was fairly thin, so I ended up drilling completely through, but I'd recommend drilling 10mm more than the embedment depth so if any dust gets caught in the bottom of the hole it won't stop the screw going in, make sure to blow out the hole before using the screws. It felt like you added a wired mesh, it is necessary to add a Mesh, for parcel box concrete, I was thinking if I put a mesh, it will be hard to drill if the drill hits the mess.
Hi Suman, this is such a small pad, that I don't think the mesh was absolutely necessary, but I'm not an expert at concreting either 😀. The mesh I did use was very light, so the drill would have easily gone through it, if I used a larger reinforcing mesh, this would have been harder. The reason I used the mesh was because I had an offcut laying around to use and I didn't want to risk cracking the pad when tightening down the anchors. The anchors I used are designed to limit the lateral force anyway, and may not have cracked the pad. Hope that helps, thanks for watching. 👍

Good to see ya Hally, 😁, it's splash proof. There are lips all around the top and bottom doors that will keep out rain, but nothing to seal it when shut, so if there was any flooding and water rose up around the bottom it would leak in. Thanks for watching 👍!
