Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it. Why does the one pack tilt back and forth when hiking? Is it not designed for hunting or just loaded too top heavy?
Yea that pack was causing my friend some problems. It’s a Kuiu hunting pack… so it is designed for hunting. But it’s designed to be modular so you can change out the bag size depending on the length of your hunt. He tried looking at it to make sure it was hooked up right after it was leaning like that but it never really got resolved. He wants to sell it and get a stone glacier pack. My osprey pack worked great and is comfortable but I plan to sell it because it doesn’t have a meat carrying system. I plan to get either a stone glacier or a EXO K4 pack for future hunts.
Good call yea, we went with what we had but I know the isobutane jetboil type stoves aren’t quite as reliable and lightweight as liquid fuel… especially for cold temps and higher altitude.
It was an any ram tag, and at our ability level there was such a low chance of getting within range to shoot anything with a bow, and as it turned out we weren’t even able to shoot the half curl ram we saw so in the end, the young ram lives on.
Archery ram in AK is incredibly tough, why the tags are any ram. To think "a dink" isn't good enough shows you've never hunted in AK, let alone for a dall

Great vid! I would suggest an MSR whisperlite stove next time on your hunt. Especially at colder climates and elevation.

Why try to shoot an immature dink?
