omg yes, i love this song so much. also, first lol
1966 actually. I’m an old grandma now, but I was in high school then. And I promise you my mom wouldn’t have let me out of the house in a skirt that short. 😁. These ladies were definitely pushing the envelope.
Lol yes
My mom said her parents wouldn't let her either, but what she would do is after she left the house, she would roll up her skirt to make it appear shorter, then make sure to pull it back down before she got home haha
@@doylescordy I used to do that too. Lol.
@@doylescordy yep used to do that too.or go to my girlfriends place and borrow a skirt off of her older sister, them hope Mum and Dad ,plus my Brother's didnt see me and my friends down town or the drive in.
Let's just sit back and appreciate the sheer beauty and talent of Nancy sinatra.
"Could they wear ..." Oh yes! Speaking as a relic of that ancient age - the ladies DID wear that ... the micro mini was very much a thing of the 60s - my wife used to wear a skirt like that to school [though a lot of schools would sent girls home for that] The 60s was far more progressive than you think - the 70s was more tame. This song was from 1966. The next summer, 1967, is know as The Summer of Love - trust me, the 60s were wild - the 70s were much more tame.
Nancy Sinatra is cool. She has some good songs. Boots was released in 1966. In 1968 she did that movie speedway with Elvis.
Awesome
Nancy and I have a mutual friend and I'm told Nancy is very cool.
It was the 60s. My mama had a pair of hot pants that would put daisy dukes to shame. Never mind the micro minis, lol.
60s was mini skirt heaven.
Yep, and 70s was hot pants and go-go boots.
@@tedharvick9010 go-go boots were more 60's along with twiggy, carnaby street & then the Love culture in the late 60's. I was born in June 1960 :)
That little dance at the end is the Pony.
@@miamidolphinsfan My dad was born july 1960, and my mom was born june 1966
Don't forget the GoGo boots.
Girl this is the 60's!! Lol..... the 70's was classic rock and disco!!!!
I really can’t believe it
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! Nancy is Frank Sinatra’s daughter! This song is very different from the songs you’ve been reacting to! Since you did this song, try listening to “Harper Valley PTA” , Another one with “shocking lyrics!! Nice Reaction!!
IT WAS THE MID 60'S. I HAD THOSE BOOTS IN RED, BLACK, BROWN, AND WHITE. AND THAT WASN'T A SKIRT, IT WAS HOT PANTS!
came out in 1966 - that was Go-Go dancing and it was a great hit!
Thx bigs
Love Simply K. Simon’s reaction watching
this ! 🤣 I’m pretty sure this was done mid 60s from the attire/dance style. 70s had the more hippie look . Clothing looked dirty, bohemian, maxi dresses/jeans, no makeup ,stringy hair in the 70s decades . They embraced looking “natural” 🙄. Early 60s had the high tailored hair look and they were more polished - snd yes, they wore minis. I grew up during these decades.
The 60’s. Mini skirts and boots.
And she and Elvis were friends.
She gave Elvis’ ex wife a baby shower when Priscilla was pregnant with Lisa Marie. Also she co starred with Elvis in 1968 Speedway movie when she sings Your Groovy Self and at the end of the movie she sings a song with Elvis. I saw this movie at a drive in movie theater when I was 10.
Just recall "Full Metal Jacket" Movie
Great reaction! I'm a new subscriber and have been watching this video a lot these past few days. Another great song is the duet Nancy did with her father, called Something Stupid.
It was 1966 She has shorts on and the dancers are wearing long jumpers ... These outfits were just for the video... No one actually wore them on the streets. I was a teen then and i lived through it.
I don't know, one of my teaches, in 3rd grade 1968/69 got sent home one day because she was earing a mini-skirt LOL
This song came out while I was laid up with an injury in a Navy hospital in February and March of 1966.
Mom worked at a TV station, and her Boss, Janet , a short 58-something woman with long graying hair, always came to work in these , Mini Skirt, and white GoGo Boots.
📻🤣
Great lyrics, almost Shakespearian in the play with words, 'truthing', and 'same-ing'. This was the 1960s. In the late sixties women wore their skirts very short (although not quite as short as the dancers in the background).
"And what he knows you ain't had time to learn" ... Boy that's a flame thrower! Sizzle 'n' burrrnnn 🔥😲😵💫😆
😂
I love that you listen to the words your the best
The song came out in early '66 just after the miniskirt was invented, and sold a fast million in the U.S., 4 million around the world.
Yes, 1966.Loved your response during the video. I was 13 and Nancy Sinatra "Wow"..Crush on her for years. Didn't know who Frank Sinatra was at that time but, some people said it was because of him she got popular...He wouldn't have looked good in hot pants and boots.
The era of the miniskirt.
Omg... When I was just a little girl I use to put on my Granny's heels and ask her to put this record on and I'd stomp around singing it while my Granny cracked up at me!!!! 😂😂😂😂good memories!!!! Hahah!!!!
Lol
If you want to see what they do with a 70's song, check out their cover of "Love Train" by the O Jays. 70's clothes and font.
Ok
@@SimplyKSimone yep Home Free has done a cover of Love Train & they do wear 70's stuff...but do a double reaction, the original vs Home free's version...hint too, Home Free asked their patreons to make short clips of them dancing to the song....and it's home free dancing & singing & some of their patreons too.
A lot of those short skirts back in that time frame were actually skorts. Shorts hidden by a flap that made it look like very very short skirts. It permitted a lot more flexibility of movement without exposing too much.
Was huge when I was in 1st grade LOL I started school in September 1966 :) at Kensington Park Elementary here in Miami
Yep 60s had my first official mini skirt in 3rd grade
Frank Sinatra's daughter
The song was released 2/22/66
H in the 60s mini skirts and GoGo boots were the style. All the rules were being tested and often broken down
Nancy is the only Sinatra I can stand to listen to.
I want you to know that you are a ray of sunshine for me when I’m putting on my makeup in the morning and you have posted a new video.....this morning a double...Nancy Sinatra AND Home Free! What a great way to start the morning. Home Free is my absolute favorite and Nancy Sinatra is bringing up memories of when I was very young! Thank you so much! 💜 When this was released in Feb, 1966, I was 4 1/2 & my younger sister was 2 yrs old. My older sister graduated from high school in 1965, my brother graduated in 1969. Yeah, we’re kinda spread out....but our parents were married for 65 years. I vaguely remember my sister and her friends wear the teased & sprayed flippy hair do! I will be 59 in a few days and have never had that much teasing done to my hair or had that much hair spray in it! 🤣🤣 Have a blessed day.
Nancy have the right to wear. What she wants to. That was the style. Back then. People might talk about the clothes people wear today
Great choice!
Hey Fam, Congratulations on the 15K plus. You're killing it on these YT streets!!! I love this song, this song has appeared in so many movies,LoL!!! Amazing reaction as usual!!!
Aww thanks family
I was a child of the 60s and this song was my older cousins' favourite back then.
Love that song
At 2:00 -- I loved the way you said that!
Sorry its called the happiest girl in the whole usa Donna Fargo like in the 70's i just love watching you. Your so pretty and doing a wonderful job
Aww thank u
My favorite singer Donna Fargo. "Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A & Funny Face" are happy feel good love songs that Donna wrote about her marriage.
I would highly recommend watching the version of this sung by Lola in Kinky Boots, one of the only covers i think is worthy of it, sadly you cant get a full version of the cover on cd as far as i can tell
Ok and thanks
60's and this was spicy.
I can’t believe this was the sixes I thought they were very conservative then
@@SimplyKSimone Counter culture. The pill. Mini skirts, hot pants, (Legs! Except not all girls have nice legs lol) free love, hippies. All late 60's. Into early 70's too.
S..K. always want that motherland..you my Bau
This song come out in 1966
Lol, this song always reminds me of the 80's Vietnam War movie 'Full Metal Jacket' :) :)
😂
Great song 😎
You mess with me , I'll make you pay 😂
😂😂
It was the 60s baby girl
1966. It was a boot walking year!!!!
This song charted in January 1966!
You are wrong, that was the 60's. Nancy had on a hot-pant jumper. The dancers had on micro-minis. Not too many people wore micros in public, but some did. The 70' were disco.
Disco was in the late 70s
If you like disco music back in the 70s here's the song that. Nobody has listen to and I've heard it a couple times in the 70s and I think you would like it
Thanks 😊
Mini skirts were definitely 60s, though not that short. These outfits are for the video only. When I was in high school in the mid to late 60s the fashion rule for skirts was fingertip length.
The "dresses" they're wearing are called 'Skimps'.
Cool thx
I want to say it was about 1966.....BTW....this is Frank Sinatra's Daughter.
Hi John !! Thanks for watching
I didn't think the length of the skirts here was a big deal, but then again I grew up watching the June Taylor Dancers.
Really ?? I have to see them and look it up
❤!
💙💙
The song was from the sixties.
Nancy's an OG baddass
Yes she is
Also check out the happiest
I saw cartoon of this song in 1964 on screen at the time was the largest stage in the world. If us boys had seen this instead of the cartoon we would have be howling. Where I'm from the city would block of a block in the summer and have games, provide sodas, snacks and take us kids on trips. The Trip to New York was one of them.
Wow
Couldn't have been 1964, the somg wasn't released until Feb 1966
@@miamidolphinsfan You're right. I was only 7 years old and got the year wrong. Thanks for the correction.
That was just for the video ... they actually were NOT wearing mini skirts at all ...
cannot imagine wearing my hair like that ,, so heavy
Me either lol
This came out in the 60s😀
LOL. Delicious revenge.
She burned him with that line"you haven't had time to learn what he knows."
is 1966 ! the age of freedom...
Totally the 60s.
The '60s
60’s sweetie
60's
It’s from the 60s
Video Nancy Sinatra 1966---
1966-!!!
Not the 70's it was the 60's!
Thx
Not really a Nancy Sinatra fan but I’m still with ya....lol.
Thanks for watching and trying it
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Reading some of the comments I had a teacher split the desks so the students faced each other. The reason the mini skirts were so short the teachers could see what they weren't supposed to see. That was 67.At least some respect. Don't know why parents of the time let them wear them.14 yr olds.
This song came out in 1966
Thanks but I’m still shocked
@@SimplyKSimone Me too! Those women were almost nekkid! lol
Heyy 👋
Oookay they jamming with they little mini dresses these 👢 are goin to walk all over you..I like it
Hey Queen !! Yess
This song from 1966
I knew mini skirts were short then, but I didn't know they were that short. Like in a 10 year spread from 1950's to 60's women went from modest clothing skirts below the knee to this?
1966
This is actually the 60's! Our parents would never let us wear skirts that short. A lot of the girls used to leave the house with a modest length and then roll them up at the waist on the way to school - skirts, not dresses! We couldn't wear them too short, at least where I grew up, because we still wore hose with girdles - where the stockings were attached to clip-ons on the girdles. We were behind on when panty hose became popular. Panty hose were a god-send!!!!!! Those girdles were just horrible!
60s honney 60s
1966! Wasn't she something!
1966.
Now I know where they got the idea for the fem bots! Yeah baby!
She was both adorable and smoking hot.
No the 60's
Behold the original Cardi B
1965 and Blu Sky is correct Frank's daughter
It was 70
Some say the 60s either way they are pushing
60's - I was in elementary school----you should check out Ike and Tina Proud Mary for some short dress dancing! --ruclips.net/video/hzQnPz6TpGc-/видео.html- in the 70's our HS had an annual Queen of the Crop contest where each club, the ROTC,the Band etc sponsored a guy to dress up like a girl and do a talent thing- the winner one year lip synced this song, did the dance and dressed like Nancy Sinatra--
I could see by the hair styles. I remember women would spend every night putting their hair up in rollers to have that look for the next day. Definitely 60s. By the 70s, they just let it hang.
Nancy Sinatra daughter of Frank Sinatra!
Yes I know
Many girls wore miniskirts and looked good. Some girls wore them and really should not have. Kind of like leggings today. Lol
The 60's.
Great singer and Playboy Centerfold...
