Thank you so much for the amazing work you do ❤ Your videos are my go-to when I'm struggling to take action in recovery and need a bit of extra motivation and support. You've helped me get through SO many difficult meals since I started my recovery journey almost two years ago. Since then, I've made significant process when it comes to food and eating (I am weight-restored, and have mostly stopped restricting!), but my relationship with my body - and with myself as a whole - is still deeply damaged, so this video really resonated with me. I also greatly appreciate that you always provide practical advice and emphasise the importance of taking action even when it feels really scary. It's something that's been (and continues to be) extremely helpful for me in my recovery. It's largely thanks to you that I'm no longer content to simply make observations and reflections about my disorder and the ways in which it manifests - now I'm actively looking for ways to put those reflections to use and challenge my ED, because I know that's the only way forward!
Thank you so much for sharing as you have here, and I am beyond thrilled to know that my content is supporting you in the actioning of your recovery journey. This is indeed a DOing space and I am thrilled to hear that you resonate with this :) Sending love and big thanks your way! xx
The question to ask yoirself when in doubt is "what does having this body mean for me?" My anwser, THIS body enables me to give blood for the 1st time yesturday, THIS body means I have energy to do the things I love, THIS body means I can be the mum, wife & friend I want to be! THIS body is more important than any smaller body can give me.
Bad thought about body -> realize it's bad -> correct thought to a healthy one (over and over again) = no more bad thought :3
Exactly this: a simple (not always easy... but simple) and incredibly powerful process! :) x
