Sitting here in 2020 going into Sunday football wondering if the eagles can beat the bengals. Things change. I found this video and I looked at the date and said this can't be right, this felt like just yesterday. In my neighborhood, there is quite a few eagles fans on our street, after the win, running out on that street to see at least 50 other people doing the same, all embracing each other was a crazy feeling. Later I was blessed with the chance to go to the parade, not really knowing what it meant to people, or my dad, as I was 12. Sitting here watching this video at 15 years old looking back to how I didn't appreciate the chance to go to that parade as much as I should have. Not only did I get to go to the parade, but it was a Thursday night game in the regular season. My dad asked me on tuesday if I wanted to go see the eagles play the panthers in carolina, so we went. We got there about 2 hours early and were sitting in out seats about 15 rows up. 2 men in eagles suits walked up to us and offered us their last 2 field passes. Best football year of my life. Go Birds.
I still get chills watching it happen 43 year old life long Eagles fan sports moments like this change a city and fan base as cheesy as it sounds as Coach Pederson said this is the new norm in Philly
Not cheesy at all, brother. I’m 26, so I’ve lived through the best run (outside of 1947-1960) the Eagles have ever had. I’ve been spoiled, but always felt like something was missing (A Super Bowl win). Before the SB, I told my gf, “The eagles winning will change the city of Philadelphia forever, just like the World Series in ‘08 did.” And it has. The vibe in the city is different, like a giant weight has been lifted off our our shoulders. I imagine it’s how Cubs fans feel in Chicago. Personally, I feel more free and loose, especially when watching the Birds.

Im the only eagles fans in my family, my dad loves the bills and my mom the steelers, and even they felt bad for me when wentz got hurt. I dyed my hair green before the falcons game cuz I swore this was the year. They told me not to cuz Wentz was out but I knew this was the year. I even remember them teasing be at the begining of the Vikings game. But the whole time I knew this was the year. This super bowl was about the only time i ever remember crying it was a great moment.
This was a hell of a roller coaster year. Picking up Jeffery, Blount, Long and Darby in the pre-season. Losing Hicks, Peters, Maragos, and Sproles At week 10, being the bay far the best team in the NFL and having the leading NFL MVP in our QB. Wentz getting injured felt like a punch to the stomach. Foles coming back the next game and lighting up the field. Foles having poor games against the Raiders and the Falcons Then to end the season having Saint Nick play two perfect games of football. The big thing you missed in here was the bounce-off-the-knee catch in the Falcons game. It was then you knew something was special. And maybe the Jake Elliott kick early in the season.

But they had the one thing that kept them going was themselves and the next man up mentality and they did it.

I did not get people who were panicking when Wentz went down, as if they were too busy to watch Eagles football in 2013 & 2014 when Foles went on a 14-4 tear. I really hope the organization finds a way to keep both of them on the roster. I say start Foles and let the kid sit.
