  • A sampling of life just beyond my studio windows in late 2017 & early 2018. This is in the San Francisco district - the western South of Market - an area that has birthed and is the home to major tech startups, is home to millennials and homeless, the site of new construction and an neighborhood with an active night life.

Nice job! Enjoyable, interesting, engaging, and gives me a whole new view of the city that I love to visit but don't want to live in. Loved your bytes of caught conversations! Like being on a crowded bus listening to bits & pieces of conversations around you . . . and wondering what more was said that wasn't heard . . . and realizing that people are always interesting where ever you find them!

I was born in Berkeley and was sometimes at my grandparents' place in San Francisco from the late 1940's onward. I moved to San Francisco in 1978 - Potrero Hill then Bernal. Since 2005 in Soma. The city fascinates me because it changes every decade or so, and usually the bulk of newcomers are not necessarily liked by the established populations - eg hippies in the 60's.

I am working on a video that will be a sequel to HERE8. It maybe pretty raw as Western Soma has been undergoing a wrenching change in the years since HERE8 was done. It intrigues me that my documentaries that seem to deal with personally difficult material such as HERE8 and HERE4 are the least viewed videos.

Blue is a terrible color for text. I missed a lot, because I was unable to read the text.
