This pedal (like the amp) sounds SO much better with the gain dialed back when playing rhythm. One of the very few videos I've seen of someone who wasn't using WAY too much gain, and under-representing the amp/pedal. Steve, you nailed this demo. I'd love to hear you demo one of the SLO's.
great demo- Gary actually used a marshall guv"nor pedal -soldano was used for clean(read that in a GM interview) i wish the pedal dad allow gain switch, i would probably roll off the volume knob on guitar for lower gain
I know that many ppl like it but every time I hear it I get the feeling of the "blanket over speaker effect". Could be the low mid frequencies that just doesnt jive with me. I also don't hear as much upper harmonic content as I would like. Hard to say though since it could be a better experience irl.
This through most amps, gets a bit away from that true Soldano tone.. it's about shaping that amp b4 the drive and after gets kicked in. A good Distortion pedal for sure.
The Fender Bassman is pretty much one of the best choice you can do if you want to test properly the true tone of this "SLO in a box"!👍 The SLO 100 clean channel is a very close circuit to the Fender's ones! (I don't speak about the SLO clean channel with the crunch mode engaged of course😉) Very solid demo, good and various tones that show the real potential of this awesome pedal, and even with the obvious compression of youtube audio files you can clearly catch the particular range of harmonics you ear on a real SLO 100, pretty convincing to me...
Curious on a comparison with the SLO model on the helix, plug this in thru the loop, run this pedal and the SLO model in the helix thru the same cab model.
It'll be as noisy as any high gain amp and with that always comes feedback. Also, its highly dependent on pickups and proximity to your amp with screeching. What else is in the set up?
It’s a high gain pedal so what do you expect? I have the BE-OD pedal which I AB’s against this pedal and I much preferred it but noisy as hell too. Perhaps you should think about the MXR EVH Overdrive pedal as it has built in gate, or just getting a stand alone noise gate.

Yes, I would absolutely love see the comparison. Thank you for posting this Steve. Hope all is well with you.
Great demo. Impressive pedal
Thanksforgiving us a new demo.
🤣🤣🤣 thanks for checking it out
GREAT demo! I might need this pedal to. Or if possible get the SLO 100 Head.

Yep. Check out my later video on garys tone! Guvnor into my soldano
Sounds bad ass. I'm going to have to get one.😃
Hi Steve, is that Les Paul Classic and what kind Humbucker do you have in the neck and Bridge? I give you 10 ⭐ Demo and Thumbs up for Video 😊
Thanks so much! It is a '92 classic with throbak pickups 🤘

It's very versatile!
Sure can do a lot!
👏👏👏👏👏

A good Distortion pedal for sure.
the pedal does obtain Still got the Blues and Parisienne walkways tone
Its a glorious thing!

Soldano through a Bassman....................good gawd that sounds good. What cab are you playing through?
Thanks! Its a lethal combo. This is the '63 bassman cab I got in the torpedo store
Your sound in the room comes out of the studio monitor ?
Yes. Or headphones
Can u use it as a preamp with a power amp pedal and a Captor x?
Yes you can. It wasnt its intent, but i have seen people doing this

Now you're talkin!
Do you think a classic Fender is the right amp to showcase a slo pedal?
Considering its made for a clean amp, there is no better choice. A dirty amp would not mesh with a distortion like this
Hey it’s the Instagram guy
You found my stupid stuff! 🤣😅 this channel is all actual guitar content so its a bit different 🫠
Nice flame on that guitar. For a Gibson. 😉
😏😏🤫
Ordered one when first released, was sooooooo noisy kinda microphonic so I sent it back… maybe less noticeable using the captor X…

Definitely puts a magnifying glass on one’s prowess.
Or lack thereof in my case 🤣

Ok finally a vid that isn’t sponsored.
Hope you dig the vid!
Really on the fence with all the new pedals coming out, seems like every day there’s a new one.
@@carlossalazar4508 its overwhelming!!! The Warm audio ones are excellent too
Got one this weekend as a Christmas gift. Oh. My. God!!!!!!! My life long search for tone and dirt is finally over.
Too much gain dialed all the way down. Perhaps less gain w single coils, but seemed too hot, little variation… but a great one trick gain pony.
I do agree! I wish i could get more of the crunch sound available on the real amp. But this does the higher gain channel amazing
Sounds like a pedal
What gave it away?! 😳
