Great demo. Really nailed what this pedal is capable of. And tip-o-the-hat for clearly showing your settings. Always nice to see how the pro’s dial in their gear.
THE TRUE GUITAR HERO 🤟🤟 Jamie would love to see a lesson on some of your post production you do on those tracks, especially for novice home recorders like myself, thx for existing my friend 🙏
A little fun fact, The pickups in your axis which are the same ones that were in the EVH version of that guitar originally were voiced with the Soldano SLO amp in mind. EVH at that time was using a SLO head. the 5150 had not yet been designed.
Yes the 5150 came later. Next year is my 25th anniversary as a Music Man endorser. I have a video planned that has some incredible info about the guitar development that came from both Dudley who designed the guitar and Sterling Ball. Stay tuned.
Yes.. it was given to me last year. It’s the one that was featured in the adverts. If watch the full demo you’ll see my custom single coil Sport that Dudley built for me to my spec. Let’s of cool features under the hood.
@@SixStringAlliance been following your playing and demos since the lesson video days, Jamie! Never knew you had this channel, just my ignorance. Subbed!!!
Thanks Jamie, another great demo/review… Now I’m torn between the Mini SLO 30W SS head and the SLO pedal… The SLO pedal will probably be more versatile and would sit nicely next my original Rat and Mad Professor 1 pedals. (Guessing the vintage Eventide algorithm you used was the 910/949? …Or maybe the Micropitch?). Thanks again.
Excellent playing as usual Jamie! I used to watch you on musicians channel when I first started playing in 2003/4. There was an album or track you did with Guthrie, it started out with some cleanish sweep picking and the cover had a blue background from what I can remember. Do you recall what the track was?
Omg that was such a long time a go.. my brief stint as a TV personality 🤣🤣 The track in question is Ceremony, there’s a couple of video on RUclips of me playing it, one really old one on this channel. It was first taken from an EP I did with Guthrie and later on an album. I actually found a load of those original CD’s in my storage in the UK when I was back at Xmas. I’m planning on re releasing a lot of those old instrumentals as well as some very old material I’ve found on a four track!!
Lovely demo Jamie! How does this pedal compare to the EVH 5150 OD pedal? I'm gassing so hard right now, but not sure if it's worth it if I already have the EVH pedal. I love the clarity of this pedal though!
It’s a great pedal, although I’ve not done an A/B between them. Put it this way, I have 2 EVH 5150 pedals so that’s my personal preference. The boost and gate on the 5150 I feel make it better value. But the SLO pedal is great, and does its thing.
@@SixStringAlliance I see. But I was referring to when you're demoing the pedal after minute 10 until the end of the video. There is no delay and I think no harmonizer, but some room ambience that is very cool. Was just wondering what that was.
Two pedals overdrive which are amazing. 1 the Soldano overdrive pedal featured here. The other is quite shocking. It’s the behringer tm 300 !!!!! Oh yes shocking isn’t it. 25 pounds!!!!! I know no ones going to believe this, ah well. It’s a copy of a sans amp preamp.
Had a hard time with this pedal. Doesn’t feel and sound as good as Mxr sba. Has lots of gain but the dynamics were hard for me to control, sounded best with gain 4-6.
Glad to see Jamie looking thinner and healthier. He looks great and stellar presentation as always
Thanks Anthony!! Change of life style and got my thyroid in check!!

Thank you!! Yeah that would be a cool video.. I'd have to look t the best way to do it.
Sounds Amazing , and good guitar player too.
Thank you
Awesome demo song in the intro. Thanks
Thanks for watching 🎸🎸
Love the tone! You are an incredible player!
Thanks a lot!
Jamie you never disappoint
Thanks Jeff!!
Excellent video Jamie! I got mine today and I love it. I'm so impressed. And I appreciate real world use in your demos. 🤘🏻
enjoy the pedal.. its great!!
Excellent demo. Period! Full and complete! 😊
Cheers Adam 🎸🎸
Probably the best distortion pedal ive ever heard
Agreed!!
Sounds terrific, like your playing!!! 🔥🔥
Thanks for listening
Fantastic demo dude!
cheers fella
Lol, the SLO pedal going into the mini Recto. This is kind of hilarious; if you know, you get why this is funny.
Just a clean platform to demo a pedal

@@SixStringAlliance That AXIS is a "Double trouble" model isn't it? 👍

Martin Barre knows his way around them 💫 The sound at 22:06
Great review!
Thank you
Definite nod to the OU 812 album with that intro song!! Source of infection
Yeah.. That was my inspiration for the song.. well spotted!!

Cheers Andrew. I think it’s a cos5 effective way of getting the tone. Plus you can use it as a preamp running it with IR’s

Just got mine from Andertons. Holy shit it’s probably the best pedal I’ve ever bought !
It’s awesome isn’t it!!! Enjoy 🎸

Sounds superb, a tad dark but depends obviously on the amp it's heading into and the axe being used etc...I like it though a lot.
Thanks for the comment.l it’s a great pedal
Am I the only one noticing the non copyright version of “Source of Infection” in the beginning? I see what you did there lol
100% correct.. I mention it in the video when I cha5 about the t4ack. I took a similar idea but changed the progression.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!
🎸🎸🎸
Awesome tones man! What is it you're using for ambience? Room reverb, or short panned delays, doubler? Can't put my finger on it but I really like it!
Thanks!! I give a full breakdown on what i did in the video. There’s a section on the demo track. Glad you like the tone.
@@SixStringAlliance oh skipped that part before. Sorry ;) Listening now ...

@@jaeger28 ah gotcha.. yes that just the IK Multimedia Sunset Sound reverb. It’s just a nice room ambience to put the demo tone in a space.
@@SixStringAlliance yay luckily I own that plugin,, too :) What better to use with an Axis and an SLO than the Sunset! Sounds superb!

That’s really interesting.. I’ll look out for that pedal.
10:13 in case you want to hear the pedal, skip the talking
Or go to 0:21 and the hear the demo song, or just follow my conveniently labelled chapters where I tell my audience where the playing is.

The Soldano amp generally is a fought dial, a bit like the Mesa Mark series, but once you find the spot it’s epic!!
Why does almost everybody demo this pedal for metal !!!
If you watch the demo I do lots of tones, including bluesy single coil tones.
Its not SLO sound in pedal.
It’s very close.. we A/B’d it with an SLO 30 and it was very close.
That pedal is more than enough., the best dist pedal so far
