    Accommodation prices in Ireland are way too high for minimum wage to support it often times

    • @Corrky

      I would say that is a much bigger problem in Dublin than in smaller cities.

  • @missimccarthy8408
    @missimccarthy8408 Год назад +5

    I think the minimum wage is quite high because the cost of living is insanely high. Rent is ridiculously overpriced and the cost of food has gone up. If you can get a good job then life isn't so bad. I would prefer Galway over Dublin. Nicer people and much nicer nature

      I worked for minimum wage when it was 10.10 and I was fine.
      But of course it is different if you want to have a hole house and have a family. For a single person who is just renting a room I was happy enough. Even saved enough money to spend 3 months in Croatia over summer.

    Hi, i'm from Australia, would you say a person like me can come over your country and apply for a job? I sent an email to the Irish embassy in canberra Australia last week, and we have no visa if we are coming for max 90days, and if we want to work we can do an extension and apply on the website (i think) for an agreement and again if i'm not wrong we need to show our finances and have an accomodation, it does sound like a visa to me but it doesn't say visa on the website. If you have any other information or advices please don't be shy 😅😊. Thanks ❤❤❤❤

    How much of the weekly/monthly wage is stolen by the state in taxes? What is the marginal tax rate in Ireland? In "kanada" the marginal tax rate is 38%. I have read that the marginal tax rate in Ireland is 41% How much of that 1909 euro monthly pay packet will the Irish government actually allow you to keep? As well, drinking in pubs is very expensive. Between 6 and 10 euro for one pint. Wages versus taxes and expenses and cost of living are an important comparison. As well what is food price inflation currently? I have read that food price is currently about 10% and even more.
