We have a folk festival in our town over the duration of a long weekend. They get 5 or 6 massive marquee's to shade from sun or rain! Wonderful idea Lorraine's and can confirm it works!
We have wet winters, most of all of our town shops have verandah's..
We have bike lanes here. If cars drive into them, they get a fine. It saves lives!
😂 Ireland is the new Switzerland, as far as banking goes! Trains are cheaper than buses here.
We get 20days annual leave, 4 weeks including weekends! Totals 28day. 2 paid bereavement/compassion days per year. 10 paid sick days. Sounds similar.
I think our bank holidays may be called public holidays or long weekends perhaps.

Underground Malls would be a great start. The granite pegmatite of Ireland makes for naturally super-strong cave and caverns. The lighting could be introduced through enhanced solar mirrors like in the expensive homes which have skylights made of them. The natural wind of Ireland just needs to be harnessed and directed. There are nearly zero earthquakes in Ireland. Water is far more controllable than people realize, so long as pressure is dealt with reasonably. In 1982 I went to San Sebastian Spain and saw the existence of an aquarium made of the sea. You simply walked underground and the Spanish have built a massive window into the sea of pure beauty. Anything imagined can be done.

I´m rather concerned lately. It´s SO easy to forget. Forget WHY I had to go to Ireland to find a man worth marrying. Lately, I´ve turned around and said, ¨you know, I´ve been sitting here learning Spanish for 3 years solid. I need to get out and make some friends!¨. And, inconveniently, I forgot why I had to import a man from Ireland! Because there weren´t any Americans worthy of marriage! So, now what? Magically, there are going to be men worth being friends with? Hell no! They hate each other, too so, it´s not like I´m not part of the club. The secret is, there is no club! Now, I need to focus: Find male friends in Ireland. Find male friends in Spain. I´m in my 50s so, looking too young is nuts. Still, mature, centered, determined 30s, 40s, 50s..perfect!
