His Tangier home was one of my all time Quintessence favourites - and now Milan! Its a riot of colour yet placid, peaceful and relaxing, the guest bedroom is wholly inviting. You could only feel joyously happy in this apartment, he has banished doubt and depression. It was lovely that you included a shot of his father welcoming him with a kiss, those of us who are not Italian know that in Italy family is everything, even more important than interior design and decoration! Thank you for letting us into another world.
A perfect gift for a loyal serving employee, very lucky to be his family, the estate is beautiful and full of history.Susanna thank you again for bringing this wonderful family to us in their intimate settings.
His house in Tangier is one of my all time favorites, and this house in Milan does not disappoint!! I am such a fan of the multi-layered, inviting look of his houses!!😍❤️
Just a blow away. I’m so in love with this man’s style & look forward to seeing his next iteration in the family home. That went WAY TOO FAST- I wanted time to bond with that kitchen. So phenomenal.
I hope you visit again once he moves. This is my favorite RUclips channel. I’m always checking to see if a new video is available. I rewatched many over and over. You need a Netflix movie of all the quintessence stories. What a beautiful story it would be!
Wow, I love both houses! So much history, culture, and taste. Nicolo‘s color scheme is giving me some ideas for my own new house!! Thanks again to Susanna for a wonderful curated home tour!!
You don't have to be a wealthy European or American blue blood to have an artist, eclectic home as this channel may seem to suggest. In my 750 square foot apartment in Chicago, I painted a 19 foot landscape that wraps around two walls in the living room. In the bedroom the walls are hand burnished gold and the ceiling is a cross between an Arabian nights tapestry and a 1920s supper club. All it takes is some paint and a vision. Scour unique items from flea markets and estate sales and you have the same atmosphere as these even if significantly smaller.
I think it's more for inspiration. But I can't help feeling like this is so far from my reality. Which can be depressing but it can also be a nice escape from daily life. When I lived in Mexico I got to do some basic design experiments, like different bright colors for each room. But there aren't any thrift stores in Mexico so finding neat things was hard. But we made do and got creative sometimes. My husband made me a little desk out of an old wooden gate. And I put plants in glass containers, either from food or bottles. We painted a mural on one of our walls. You can have a similar artistic designed life on the skimpiest of budgets. Back in the US, can't really do all that but now I have thrift stores! And photography!
That sounds glorious! It is truly remarkable what can be done with inspiration, vision, and fearlessness. Time and again, I see that the difference between the pros and the rest of us are usually those things, sometimes even more than budget.
i never cease to be amazed to the attention given to what some may think is the most minute detail but makes the largest impact. the adorable pelican wearing the straw hat, that tiny staircase set up under the beautiful portrait of a woman sitting in a chair of the same colors , matching that very room's sofa! i once worked in a fine furniture store who did lots of custom work and was surrounded by multitudes of fabrics. this channel is always such a wow for me. i always look forward to weekly updates - thank you Susanna and Quintessence!
Oh my, now I have to watch again, and take it your incredible eye for those fun details. This video was a visual treat for my eyes this morning! Thank you!
What a beautiful and amazing home it's so nice that we get to see the homes of such talented interior designers and the Quintessence team do a amazing job at finding these remarkable people l keep saying that Quintessence is the best interior designer channel on RUclips.
That’s pretty crazy that your family has ties to da Vinci and his vineyard is in your backyard. Very cool place and nice that it’s open to everyone. Still, this is very unusual!
Once you move abroad, you are forever split between your origins and the new country and adventures you begin to love so much. I can very much imagine the joy Nicolo is feeling to return home, especially to such an incredible legacy & hometown. As a gypsy myself, I have been contemplating a lot on the role of design in my life and truly, it is the capacity to create and recreate "home" wherever in the world you find yourself as well as to cultivate special & memorable environments for others to enjoy and share.
It is a pleasure to watch your videos. Each one is different, elegant, colorful and cultured, each video is as instructive as finishing another novel. Thank you for myself.
Nicolo’s apartment is like a photo album of his life experiences. And the palazzo of his family is like a dream! Next time I wish we could see more of that.
Ah yes, another delightful video! I never knew that Milan could have its beautiful areas. I loved, just absolutely loved the homes featured in this particular video!!! Very much my style and decor and colors!!! And as always Susannah, you look beautiful and stylish 😊. Thank you for your wonderful work!!! 😊
Absilutely love your channel and can’t wait for new episodes. I would love to see a bit longer episodes though. The content is exceptional! Thank you for this wonderful video💐
OK, somehow I missed the release of this in my notifications!!! First of all, the commercial! Those place cards! Going to the site NOW! Secondly, what a provenance of experience from all the places Niclolo has lived and how much it shows up in his home - there is a purity in that and it rules over trend and definitely sans and kitsch-i-ness! (Kitsch is a term applied to art and design that is perceived as naïve imitation, overly-eccentric, gratuitous, or of banal taste. The avant-garde opposed kitsch as melodramatic and superficial affiliation with the human condition and its natural standards of beauty.) I'd move in with my father and aunties if they owned that property and support the custodial future of such a lovely home too! Kudos!
Another inspiring video! The blue/green and gold go so well together in his apartment. A few days a I was wondering if I could pair them in my home. I am going to try now. Thanks.
I spend a part of the year in Milan. It really seems like there is a maximalist style that is unique to the Milanese. Somehow they seem to nail maximalism without putting too much thought into it. Of course, NCB's place had a large Moroccan influence but my point can be seen in the book he just released on the Milanese home.

Too many beatiful things to admire in such a short time!
I was definitely picking up some Hemingway's Cuba vibes. I am glad he allowed us another fascinating tour.
He perfectly parallels his apartment in his personal style- colorful, joyful, sophisticated and unexpected. -Chef's kiss
Yes, exactly!
Another triumph - utterly delicious...
Thank you!

LOVE his Moroccan home and am thrilled to see his house in Milan!! Gave me goosebumps, spectacular use of color, fabrics, everything!!
His house in Tangier is one of my all time favorites, and this house in Milan does not disappoint!! I am such a fan of the multi-layered, inviting look of his houses!!😍❤️
So glad you loved!!
Oh, my! Not long enough! And the clips were too short and camera panning too fast! I didn’t get my “fix.” More, please.
Sucha a feast for the eyes and the soul. Happy to see that there are people who live like that.
As always, his choice of color is spectacular. I love his tablescapes as well.
Just a blow away. I’m so in love with this man’s style & look forward to seeing his next iteration in the family home. That went WAY TOO FAST- I wanted time to bond with that kitchen. So phenomenal.

@@xiomiminer "Let us dream longer." = Yes
Yes! I get frustrated because I'm always just settling into each video, loving exploring the interiors, and they end. Always lovely but too short.
So chic beautiful Milan
Hermosisima casa Excelente gusto para decorar
Coming back for my dose of lived in beauty, and the Fornasetti desk.
Lovely to see a house where the colours are not co ordinated
It's delightful to see the homes of people with exuberant taste. My people! Edit! Here's hoping that we get a tour of dad's house when he moves! :)
That is his dads house you see! The 2nd part of the video
@@susannasalk7153 Yes, indeed. Thank you for your kind reply.

I agree , it seems video’s are getting shorter…
They went all the way to Milan for a 5:28 video. Don't get it🙄
Great sense of color, design, and sophistication. Would have loved to see a longer and more in-depth tour of these two elegant homes.
The second home is truly lovely! So much texture and architecture! I lived all the mural work too! Great job guys! 🎉
