Lyrics:
Is this a lasting treasure
Or just a moment's pleasure?
Can I believe the magic in your sighs?
Will you still love me tomorrow?
Tonight with words unspoken
You said that I'm the only one
But will my heart be broken
When the night (When the night)
Meets the morning sun?

Many have tried, but no one sings this song better than Carol.
Brian Ferry gives it a good go
Yes, I agree.
@@janath9118 👍
Amy winehouse better tone ..strong and sharp
Lykke Li my Swedish princess nailed it
It was when I was 19 years old that I came across this song. I fell in love with Carole as soon as I listened to it. Now I am 72 years old. Time flies so quickly. I still love you, Carole.
Carole King was my mom’s all time favorite singer. Her Tapestry album is just so amazing and when I listen to it, it’s like I know my mom is watching over me from heaven.
Love it and it was the first cd I ever bought
❤️
✝️😔
🙏
All she needed was a piano, a microphone, her voice, and her gift for songwriting. The components for musical magic.
She didn't write this 😡
@@sarahiacolucci9893 She absolutely did, in tandem with her then-husband Gerry Goffin.
@@sarahiacolucci9893 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_You_Love_Me_Tomorrow#Background
@@sarahiacolucci9893 You're dead wrong. Carole wrote the music and her then-husband, Gerry Goffin, wrote the lyrics.
Agreed hut she didn't write this
Tapestry is one of the best albums ever.
Ever.
sure
It's one of the few albums I had on vinyl, 8-track, cassette, CD and iTunes! The best.
Not one duff track on the LP!
One of the best albums EVER!🎶🎵🎼
Carole was 28 or 29 in this video. At the peak of her career and stunningly beautiful ❤ !
Yes, indeed!!
No song has ever done better capturing the vulnerability of teenage girls entering adulthood. What a beautiful song.
And power they don't know they possess
Natural beauty in her looks, voice and talent as a musician and song writer. She’s one of a kind.
Yes, I agree. She really is a one of a kind!
Concert was over FIFTY YEARS ago, and her music is still touching the souls of many.
Good performsnces never die! And this one was awesome!
SO TRUE...SO TRUE !!!!👍👍🍒🍒
@@ralfxx3 glad it was recorded saved and on utube
Time has absolutely no boundaries when it comes to music, especially Brilliant music 😉
Music was so better in those days.
Nothing beats the late 60s and early 70s music.
And 50's too
No widespread abortion yet, get it?
Ehem...the 80s.
Definitely not.
@@markrianneraymundo2075 yes.
I grew up listening to Carole King's album Tapestry. There's no one better than Carole King!
Dave Mason did it just as well eventhough Gerry Goffin wrote it. ruclips.net/video/P-uTiJ5q8kc/видео.html Dave Mason singing this masterpiece.
Agreed!
A time when people focused on the magic of pure talent, not looks or special effects. The beauty of musical instruments and special voices, not technology. This is always going to be the best version.
not an iPad in sight
I agree with everything you wrote
There is real true magic and extraordinary power of a voice that sometimes never, ever leaves you. 💘❤
To be found in the music, is like a journey of those special memories that take me back in time. A love lost is sometimes a greater love found.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💞🫵🏻👑💞❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Gingerhale, I totally agree. However, I must point out that Carole King is a true beauty inwardly and outwardly. And of course, her musical genius speaks for itself.
This is how you write and perform a song that will last forever.
It's absolutely priceless❣sending 💞 from 🍁
Too many do not even know she’s the one wrote this beautiful song
No just you.
AMEN!!
I'm one of the many many who know this song is CK's original song.
This performance is exactly why I love to watch singer songwriters perform the songs they've written. I can feel her emotional connection to the lyrics and music through my smartphone screen & speaker. She genuinely connects with the song because she's the one who wrote it. It's a beautiful thing to witness.
Carole King has been playing the piano since age 4, and it shows. I love her piano playing in this performance! It's so pretty!
I completely agree with your view regarding Ms. Carole King.
Few have done justice to this great song.... fewer still have owned it. Carole owned it.
Bryan Ferry does a nice version.
spot on man
Carol doesn't just own this song, she is this song - she even co-wrote it!
@@alexleclerc1 No way! This song was first recorded in 1961. Carole King was probably 9 or 10 years old then. At the time of this performance (1971) she was no more than 20 years old. Do the math.
My wife passed away almost a year ago and she loved this song - Let me just say that my wife had impeccable taste - Carol is one of a kind! We are all fortunate to have lived in her time
Sorry about ur loss. Glad u had great life with ur lovely wife
So sorry for the loss of your Wife.. carol king had helped me through so much!!❤

When I heard her song, it reminded me of my teenage days. I gave her song "You've got a friend" to my husband when I fell in love with him in 1971 sending him a "LOVE SIGNAL" .....we were 17 years old and surprisingly he also like Carol KIng song. Well done ME.
Now both of us have 7 grand childrens.

Blessed.
How cute!! ❤

Thought I had my sweetheart in 71 as well....college life drove us apart! To this day I wonder where it might have taken us!
It's amazing how her voice and a piano can make a perfect combination.
She doesn't need anything more!

No piercing's.
"Tonight, you're mine completely"
That is the best opening line in music. It's so loving and tender.
is it true that she wrote this at 14?
Everyone look good in the evning, in the morning the truth show as a catapult to your pour breast. And you look like a smoggel on vacation..
Her husband wrote the lyrics
Over fifty years later, this performance holds up just as well as the day it was recorded. And it always will.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's only temporary. You'll see each other again and this absence will only strengthen your love.
Her piano playing is so unique. I have listened some piano covers and no one are close to hers. There is something raw on it that I cannot explain.
This clip, shows the impact of her piano. playing. The range of tension of each note makes it lively.....
.... not mechanical

Keith Green played similarly! Such a natural talent as well!

I absolutely love this! Carole King is straight up Legendary -- A beautiful human Treasure.
If it were possible to go back in time this is one of those moments that I would like to be. There are few singers with that brightness and simplicity today. Long live Carole King!
I’d go with you my friend!
Let's all go together🙂 but for the meantime all we can do is wonder🙂👍
I was 17 when this album was released. It was on a warm, summer day. I can still remember listening to it for the first time and this song was and still is my favorite. They were easier times and the music was magical. I am grateful to still have those memories of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Carol King and all the others to follow.
@@Chloe-th2lg thanks for sharing that. It’s a beautiful picture in my head I can see it. I know the feeling. I was just telling my kids how we would all fun for that Rotary phone when it rang! We always answered in those days. There was love and or fun waiting for us on the other end. Listening to our favorite songs during dedication hour and waiting on a crush to call back.

What a privilege to have had the pleasure of growing up with the talent of Carol King.
I totally agree with you. I'm 61 and still love listening to her beautiful music.
Totally agree I’m 66 .what a great song
We grew up during a time of unforgettable music! Where have the great singers all gone??
You had to be there. In the era of these amazing songs and artists. This song…. Many young girls sang and were asking the question.
Carole wrote so many top-class songs.
Well I believe here husband at the time, actually wrote the words to this song. As well as many other Geoffin , king songs.
Brilliant tom
One of the finest pop love songs ever. What a talented lady.

You obviously don’t listen to too many other female vocalists.

Great songwriter! Have you heard Amy Winehouse sing this?
@@realaussiemale567 I do
I love her but, she is not
What a talented and pretty lady. One of the best song writers ever.
I agree 100% you have great taste
It was interesting how she downplayed her beauty on album covers, etc. and let the music do the talking for her. I continue to be amazed 50 years down the road just how gorgeous she was in her chart heyday; the music was so good I scarcely noticed.
@@actionsub I like that artists like her, Billy Joel, and James Taylor could just walk on stage, and command it from the piano/guitar without the need for flashy costumes to keep the audience engaged
This is to me and always will be the most beautiful love song I have ever heard or was ever written
Of all the great songs Goffin and King wrote, this is my favourite.
Gerry a lyrical genius
Seriously this is unbeatable
Tapestry is one of those once in a life-time albums that we were so lucky to have been able to listen to. I miss the singer/songwriter era so much.
I used to sing this song to my daughter when she was a 2 year old. She just turned 39 in September 2021 and the tears still flow with joy. Beautiful song.👏👏👏😢

No auto tune no gimmicks just talent that's what Carol King brings to the table...and yes it stands the test of time still sounding great in 2021 i was a young kid when my sister brought the album tapestry home and i learned many of the songs on the piano and guitar by ear and still play them 50 years later and still love them and so do my Nephews and Nieces ..L.A Rob
Un piano y una voz
Y una tonelada de talento
Carole King is a very special treasure, a genuine musical genius.
as is neil sedaka . but he receives no where near the amount of awards love and respect and honuors that have been upon her . that's just plain wrong and despicable beyond words . From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it .
Agreed.. One of a kind for sure.
A unique voice that still shakes the listeners. A poet , composer and performer. Hard to equal.
You can hear her heart and soul in her music
I never realized I was such a sucker for beautiful singer-songwriters, but now I’m thinking there’s a pretty direct connection between Carole King in 1971 and Norah Jones in 2002. *sigh*
Love is the greatest of all treasures and a gift beyond words. I was a foolish man when I lost the only true love of my life and my precious girl, who now in these many years is a beautiful mother and wife. For decades I searched for love once more in so many others. My hope that someone who may be lost, ponders these words, from a fool. Imagine your next breathe to your last without them. I wish you and yours peace and all good things. Thank you Carol King.
❤💙❤

I’m quite surprised how clear the video is even it’s 50 years old now
But the TV on that era couldn't give us clear video like this

I love her naturalness. No professional hair style, no professional makeup. Just a girl and her piano singing a song.
Carole King written so many great songs and she's quite pretty

Her Tapestry album is 1 of the all time great albums. Also, the amount of great songs herself and Gerry Goffin wrote for other artists is incredible. A legend.
What a gorgeous package... Talent, appearance, emotion... Carries the whole illusion... Hard to believe she's 82...
Possibly my favorite Carole King song.
Such a lovely innocent song. Written in a time when men respected women and women respected men.
Thank you for the upload .. :)
LOL. If you think men treated or respected women better in 1971 than they do today you're delusional. The landscape and opportunities for women outside the home has changed beyond all recognition since the early 70s, and they've had to fight for it every step of the way.
Maybe yes, maybe no. It wasn't all RESPECT
Absolute genius, I love this song.
And me you have great taste x x x
@@Rose06091 I also love the Shirelles version!!
The vibe of the song and especially that opening reminds me of Songbird by Fleetwood Mac. I bet Christine McVie was inspired by this beautiful lady. Both are amazing.
I must have been living in a cave. Beautiful ❤️
Beautiful indeed I’ve been married for 32years I was 24 and she was 20. She got cancer in 2020 I was totally lost without her. She took a major hit the treatment was horrible for her. I could do nothing to change any thing so I felt helpless.. I miss her everyday. Mothers are the glue that holds everyone together.. seeing this makes me miss her even more I come to this page all the time just to have that nostalgia
These songs of the 60's-70's is where all my memories live. 11-12 YO.
She has been writing songs for other artists even when she was a teenager. Like taylor and the shirelles. Before she began singing her own songs
a million covers on youtube and not one comes even close ! now that is talent !
