The book was released after the completion of the film. They worked with a group of CF patients during the filming process one of which was Claire Wineland, a stunning young lady and her out look on life and just her soul are completely indescribable! she unfortunately passed away in September last year from complications of a double lung transplant and the main female character reminds me so much of the person she was and to me that is so touching. They also had a CF nurse on set with them everyday. It's film so expect it to be dramatised and over exaggerated. I personally can not wait to see the film, it's going to be super bitter sweet

Oh my gosh, i was so heartbroken when Claire passed. I had watched her on youtube for a while and i cried when i heard of her passing. it was really quite sad, as she was such a beautiful person inside and out. I just hope that, wherever she is now depending on everyone's different beliefs, she is doing well and still shining brightly
Amy, I have to do a complete colon cleanse every 4 days. It is awful on my system. I have Severe Gastroperesis and Chronic Idiopathic Constipation. I was diagnosed in July, 2018 and have been on total liquids since then. You are a real inspiration to me.

I know being chronically ill brings so many obstacles, but I just watched you scratch your back and realized you can easily reach all the spots.
Most colon preps like CitroMag, PegLyte, Co-Lyte and Go-Lytely are actually sold over the counter (at least in Canada and the US)
I can understand dreading a procedure, but I am always wanting to get things I am dreading over with so I can move on. I just hate the feeling of not knowing what to expect and want to just get back to normal as quickly as possible. Hopefully when the time comes, it isn't nearly as bad as you were thinking. Here in Holland, I can order the hand sanitizer liquid with my normal catheter or ostomy material. I agree, it’s amazing and smells great! Also, I just ordered the book, it’ll get here on Monday and I hope I’ll enjoy it as much as you!
I have a few stuffed animals at my parents' home where I put insulin pump sites in them back in middle school. It's definitely fun to have stuffed animals with the same medical devices as you.
Amy; my husband had many colonoscopies due to familial polyps and here in Canada we definitely DID purchase the laxative prep at the pharmacy without a prescription. Of course the Dr. told us the name, amount etc of the product he needed to have! Good luck whenever you do go for your scope. ❤️🇨🇦❤️
I just wanna throw it out there for others!! That liquid prep stuff was impossible for me and then I was offered a tablet version called diacol. It was so much freaking easier!! Trust me look it up or ask your doctor. It kills me that people don't know about this and are always forced to take that god awful prep shit

Thanks! Because the prep drink tastes so awful it makes me sick and it makes me so dehydrated that my body can't cope
Where I am we have to take the tablet and wait for it to kick in and then drink the other stuff on top of the tablet. It's so horrible

a little more info, its a prep where you take i think it was 20 tablets the night before and 15 in the morning ( it was last may so I'm a little unsure on specifics) and with it you have to drink ALOT of water like you're given an amount you have to drink as well as keeping up other fluids. The way its set up worked so well. i didn't even finish the next mornings prep and was still fine for my test. The liquid prep was what was standing between me and a diagnosis. So i really hope this can make a difference for someone :)

Hey just a few tips about doing preps when you have motility issues and a J tube (NJ, GJ, or straight J) of some sort. There are a few options to preps. The most common is golytely which is a gallon, so a ton of volume, the other miralax, which is a ton of volume as well so not well suited for people who have issues with volume. There are other options not commonly used called Suprep (used it when I got my ileostomy since I have volume issues). It is literally 2 eight once bottles (475 ml). Versus Golytely which is 128 ounces or the Miralax which is 64 ounces. Suprep is by far the best. Because it is so low volume it is way easier to intake, I would also ask about starting the prep two or three days before the procedure to account for you motility issues. Hopefuly Australia has access to this prep. Just saying all of this to give some things you can ask about to your doctors and see how they feel about it
For a few minutes while I was watching this video I forgot you had EDS. When you went to scratch your side your arm bent in an unusual way and I was like owwww!! But then my brain caught up and I remembered you have EDS and you can bend in ways like that! 😅
When I get mine changed I’m fine. When I had the original surgery I was screaming in pain. Though it’s done as outpatient (I was admitted), usually and I guess some people can walk after. I couldn’t even sit up!
The book came out first in 2018.
New subscriber here, I have Celiac disease and I had to get a scope done for my diagnosis and it was so weird I was 9 years old and I was crying and freaking out before they put my in the operating room. I am very luck I was diagnosed when I was cause I would be skinner then I am now and I am SKINNY

Hey beautiful, you actually can buy the colonoscopy prep at the chemist without a script. Picoprep is more gentle then coloprep etc. But it doesn't change the issue of how to get through it without putting you at greater risk. Also my last colonoscopy, I know they had to do more manual cleanout because the prep hadn't been very effective. *hugs* xoxox

They look like they are from Peters which is an Australian brand so I doubt they would have them in the States.
I had scopes done. Usually you drink a laxative from the store for two days and than you get a script and go to the chemist.

I've done two Colonoscopies now. And your gastroenterologist will tell you what type of prep you need and how much prep you need but they won't write out a script per se. You then walk in to your pharmacy and tell them what prep and how much you need.
The thing I don't like about preparing for a colonoscopy is 1 you get no sleep. You're up and down all night going to the toilet. 2 having to force the prep drink down. I didn't mind the taste but you feel so bloated after a while, you just don't want to drink anything. And 3 toilet paper feels like sandpaper and it doesn't matter how soft the toilet paper is.
But in your experience would be completely different ☮️⚛️
Looked up the release for " five feet apart" movie and in my area of the US it is on March 15. I have seen trailers and commercials for it and it looks really good. I think it will be a very emotional movie. Have a good weekend.

Here you can buy all of your colonoscopy prep stuff just over the counter at your local store that's what I had to do for mine I had an August. I also love seeing your nice warm sunshine ! I live in North Central Minnesota and we have tons of snow and cold it's been a long winter !

I have had scopes done and I have always bought mine over the counter at the pharmacy. Do you have to use a specific one because of your GP.

You can actually buy colonoscopy preps otc--its just miralax, bisacodyl, and magnesium citrate--at least in the US these are all otc(:

@@amyslife4457 interesting! Procedures can definitely different between countries, so there could be something extra they do or dont have available otc.. i work for Walgreens pharmacy in the US so i do see quite a bit of prep sold otc🤗 idk about availability where youre at🤔🤔
Here in the United States we don't need a prescription for Dulcolax and Meralax, which is what we have to buy for our colonoscopy prep.

Was it a surgery or just replacing the g tube button which technically some people do at home because it’s just a short tube vs the jtube (well unless the jtube is put into the surgery moved j.)

It isn’t as scary as you might think and you could even have a valve on it not a bag. Love your videos so much! I had my catheter at your age and it was the best thing I ever did!
I know at least two people that got sepsis from that, but obviously it’s different for everyone and doesn‘t need to happen.
