3:20 It's actually pretty clever how the spinning thruster discs create consistent thrust from all directions while counter-rotating large amounts of mass, thus creating a gyroscopic effect.

The thing at 5:30 is actually like in reality! Pilots can, in case of engine failure, tilt the blades just right so they start rotating due to the air stream that comes from below (cuz the chopper is falling). This can actually save the people in the helicopter by slowing its descent.
Just wanted to mention that.
Yes! The top rotor has enough drag to make the descent decently slow enough if you rotate the blades in the other way (where it starts rotating because of wind)
When you are like 150 metres above the ground you rotate the blades the other way and as long as you have enough rotational force you can slow your descent enough to allow you to not die of death

I think the one with the mini's mod stabilizer was in one of scrapman's community things.
Also that stabilizer is much more *stable* now so that should be fine (I haven't watched yet... expecting this to go wrong any time)
Mini's stabiliser is definitely much better now I think this one was older :P

Hey, that one with the swashplate was mine lmao, thanks! It kept freaking out because when it put it back on the lift it doesn't automatically reset the bearings to zero so if you have them at higher angles it tends to freak out. To fly it just takes slight adjustments, like tapping them, the controls change really fast. I've gotten it somewhat high but keeping it flying where you want to is nearly impossible. And balancing the rotor torque out with the tail before taking off helps a little bit too

For multiplayer Monday you should do helicopter wars, like trying to kill each other in air, some rules could be: no thrusters, no mods, mo glitches, has to have horizontal wings that rotate, and only up to 4 spud guns also the helicopters need to be destructible so maybe the destruction mod.

At 5:49 ScrapMan says that the top is unpowered but yet the blades on the top are technically powered by controllers even if they are only hold the blades at a certain angle.
The heli with only vanilla and wings mod is not really a coaxial, but a help with double the blade surface cause it has two tail blades and two rotors

The blades on the swashplate Heli create to much drag when pitched up or down if you replace the blades with horizontal thrusters on long wooden rods then it should work better

It's not the bearings that are broken, it's simply multiplayer that doesn't work very well/hardly ever.
I tried making a swash plate in scrap mechanic once but I couldnt get it to work
