This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I haven’t been to Düsseldorf too many times, but a safe bet for most German cities is to head towards Rathaus (city hall) and/or altstadt (old city) for the main tourist areas. A main shopping street is nearby (look for stores like H&M or apple to find the main shopping street easily). For cities that have it, a waterfront boardwalk (Düsseldorf has a nice one especially in summer). You’ll find restaurants everywhere. Near the main train station (search HBF) is known for Japanese food which I love in Düsseldorf. Hope this helps and enjoy your trip 😄
Hopefully you have worked out how to use the ELSTER. Aachen has the right to call itself a health spa; that's why they have a spa park. They would also be entitled to the name "Bad Aachen" however they don't use it as they would no longer be on top of the list of German cities. IKEA Frankfurt has to close down from the 29th of March based on Corona. However you can order online and get the items delivered to your address or have them ready for pick-up at the store by appointment (click and collect).
Hmm. I want to say I was able to figure it out but we will see. It was not without frustration 😅 Yes. One of the things we didn’t get to do was go to the major spa here which is unfortunate because we loved the one we went to in Köln years ago. Hope you have a wonderful weekend 😄
Hi, I just would like to ask, is it possible for EU citizens to work in Aachen in all areas if they only speak English and still very basic German? What I was told is that in the Netherlands is possible, but not sure about Germany, even places to close to the border. What is climate there, does it rain a lot, is it difficult to find accommodation, any differences between German and Dutch economy, etc.? Thanks.
I certainly saw jobs at the university in English and it seems like if you work with computers or in a technical field English seems to be enough for many companies. But otherwise it’s not so easy. I think there are more English only jobs in Netherlands or larger German cities. Of course Aachen is on the border so maybe working in Maastricht is possible (30min drive). Much rainier than Canada. Especially right now. But not unbearable (to me at least). Rent in Aachen is very affordable BUT competitive because of the university. I used the website called ImmoScout24 or eBay Kleinanzeigen. I don’t know much about the Dutch economy so I couldn’t really say!! I hope this helps let me know if you have other questions 🙂
I love this video dear Steph. I hope to contact you personally please. I'm Roshen from Sri Lanka. Hoping to do some studies in Germany. I hope your reply as soon as possible. All the love from SRILANKA.
I always used ImmoScout24 (a website with rental listings) but you could also try ebay Kleinanzeigen or Facebook marketplace. It’s not easy in Aachen, sadly!

Thank you for sharing! Such a pretty area. Is there much snow during the winter? Thank you! PS Adorable doggie!
Thank you. Hardly any snow in Aachen. Maybe we had light snow two or three times. Monschau (close by) gets more.
