  • Personalized gifts are always popular and in this video I show you how to create ornaments and personalize them all within the Lightburn software. These ornaments take very little material and cut quickly even on a diode laser. Grab your Santa hat and make some for your family and friends!

    Thank you for this video. I have been struggling with lightburn for the last three days trying to find out how to do this even after watching lots of videos and help docs. Now I feel I can adapt my designs following you on this video. Thank you.

      It’s a useful tool when you figure it out. I don’t always design in Lighburn, but when it’s simple like this it’s nice to not jump from program to program. Have a great Christmas!

    Steve, Something went wrong with the screen quality of Lightburn, sort of washed out. Could follow but might need to look into that. Thanks,

      Yeah it was a bit washed out on this video. I’m trying to get my shop computer set up so I can record and show things on the laser easier but I’ll need to work on the screen capture setup so it’s clearer for the next one.

    Thanks for the video, it help me a lot! What kind of wood I can use for the ornaments?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  7 месяцев назад

      I use most any 1/8" thick woods but craft plywood and basswood are easy to work with.

    Great video, not sure if it's just my screen but your drawings could be darker hard to see. Thanks great work.

      I've tried to fix that in later videos. On the computer I was using at the time, the resolution made the drawing lines very faint.

    Hey, haven't bought a laser engraver yet. Which one are you using in this video? Looks great!

      That was the Wainlux L6 laser. There is a link to it in the description of the video if you want to check it out.

    Great video and instruction! I am totally new to Lightburn and the laser but I have followed you step by step and had no issues up until I tried to “select all” and use the “Boolean union function”. This function is light Gray and will not let me select it in Lightburn. Apparently, I have missed something. Please help as I am just trying to learn some basics to get started. Many thanks!

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Год назад

      Make sure you are just selecting two objects. If you select all and there are more objects that are not overlapping it will not know what to do with them. So either just drag a selection box around the two objects to select them or click on one and then hold shift and click on the second one to select the two you want to combine. That should allow the Boolean tool to activate.

    • @BuddyClontz
      @BuddyClontz Год назад

      When I click to select all, it shows the ornament and snowflake with dashed lines…but still won’t let me use the Boolean function. This is driving me nuts…lol. Thanks for your help already!

      @Vintauri  Год назад

      @@BuddyClontz You might have an open vector if it's not letting you use the boolean tool. You can use the close paths tool under the edit menu to try to fix this.

    • @BuddyClontz
      @BuddyClontz Год назад

      Thanks for your help. Unfortunately the close path is also grayed out and not allowing me to use it. I just don’t get this program. I have paid for the full version but it makes me wonder if I got the full version? Who knows? I apologize for asking so much of your time. I think I’m going to delete the software and try to reinstall it. New Laser…New software….lots of headaches….lol

    How do you ship these?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  9 месяцев назад

      Small shipping boxes will protect them with some light paper packing material inside. The 8x4x2 boxes will still let you ship cheaply using USPS ground shipping in the US. amzn.to/3N7GBvi
