Hah, and Pentatonix just released a new song - cover of _Mad World_ - a few minutes ago. Great timing! I'm surprised you hadn't heard this one yet, though! Wow, clear back in 2013… This was one of the first times a collab came out by two artists that I already followed independently on youtube. Those got a lot more common for me later, but this was kind of a blow-your-mind "I can't believe this is happening!" thing at the time. The things I love most about this video (besides having a Toddy/Pentatonix collab in the first place) are the "I'm a on the cold, hard ground" (which I thought was genius -- even beyond the rest of the appropriate song selections -- and you obviously caught it, too), Toddy's makeup and costume as the Wizard, and the "Home" mashup at the end -- freaking awesome, and just brings tears to my eyes every time. I also recommend watching his _Beauty and the Beat_ - ruclips.net/video/AJzds6fRfjM/видео.html - if you haven't seen it, which is even a bit earlier. I'm *not* suggesting it for a review, mainly because Toddy has since said that he realizes it draws on a bunch of stereotypes and doesn't draw a positive view of black communities… but he's leaving it up anyway to show where he came from and how he and other artists have grown and progressed in both art and awareness. But it's still a really great video if you take it for the comedy and fun that was intended.

I too am a vocal guy, but this is way above my pay grade lol! I heard this when it first came out and have to revisit it from time to time just to keep myself humble! My favorite group by far over the last few years and my admiration seems to grow each time they drop something new for us mortals to devour. Delicious stuff! If they don't make the hair stand up on your arms, "you ain't got no" hair! Oh, did I mention all vocals, no instruments? And by the way, they can do it live!
Todrick actually DID do a full version. It is called Straight Outta Oz. It isn't the same as this, but it is a full production of over an hour long. Kirstin, Scott, & Mitch are in it - the number is called "Black and White". There are some other famous people that duet with Todrick in it, too. It basically takes the Oz story and reworks it into Todrick's semi-auto-biography with some poetic license, obviously. All the songs in it are originals, I believe, but it has been a while since I watched it. I highly recommend it. It is too long to do a full reaction, but you could break it down into each individual number and then give an overall reaction after you complete it. Just an idea. Can we just appreciate how much Kirstin sounds like Idina Menzel as Elphaba? She sounded incredible. The whole group is amazing and has grown so much since then, though.
As soon as you freaked out over Kirstin, I just kept thinkin', "Girl, you are NOT ready for Avi's exquisite low note" and your facial expression proved me correct! Can I just say...? As amazing as the entire mashup is, truthfully, I stay for that low note. For real, it's my ringtone. I replay it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME that I hear the song or watch someone react to the video. And this video was no exception. It deserves the chef's kiss. I can't remember what note that actually is but it never fails to sends chills up and down my spine. Avi has delivered plenty of spine-tingling notes over the years but this note in particular is like being served the tiniest, most delicious and richest chocolate cake in the whole world - and even though its packed with twice the calories as a regular sized chocolate cake, it makes me ravenous for more. I genuinely wish someone would make a bass chamber for anxious folks, already! The world could sure use one to soothe the heart!

Hi Tara! I loved your reaction, it was really fun to see you freaking out the same way I was freaking out when I first saw this music video :D And to reflect on what you said about how it would be amazing if they reimagined the entire Wizard of Oz story... well I have great news: Todrick actually made a whole 'visual album' as he called it, in wich he basically tells his life story through original songs all the while following the storyline and main characteristics of the original Wizard of Oz!! It is truly a masterpiece, with countless hidden messages and easter eggs, performed and delivered masterfully. Wathching that was a defining experience in my life - so I would love for you to see it. If I'm not mistaken it should still be available on youtube - and if possible I suggest you watch the original version, not the delux one... for me the original seemed a tiny bit more close to home.
The song selection was excellent! Plus, I'm on a sugar high from all the ear candy in all of the songs and the way the harmonies weave in and out. I enjoyed it thoroughly!
Todrick has a whole series based on WOO. Watch Low by Todrick Hall ft Rupaul. Also Straight Otta Oz which is long. You seem to know Todrick so you know how insanely talented he is

This is one of my most favorite songs of pentatonix
This would be a Great (extra), before or intermission, for ANY Broadway show!
Kirstens Music Theater major from college really shows in this. Any one of these people would do wonderful on Broadway.
You should watch Todrick's visual albums Forbidden and Straight Outta Oz.
its incredible what they did with this, they never cease to amaze, these people, all of them, really this is what good is, everything they do, wild how perfect, and awesome they are
I agree and would love to see this on Broadway
I love how you know them all and just listen.
Wow I think this is the earliest I’ve ever been for one of your vids, keep up the good work you wonderful lady
I just don’t understand how they are soooo gooood
Hi Tara!
I loved your reaction, it was really fun to see you freaking out the same way I was freaking out when I first saw this music video :D
And to reflect on what you said about how it would be amazing if they reimagined the entire Wizard of Oz story... well I have great news: Todrick actually made a whole 'visual album' as he called it, in wich he basically tells his life story through original songs all the while following the storyline and main characteristics of the original Wizard of Oz!!
Fantastic reaction, as per usual. Absolutely love your enthusiasm and knowledge, in your reactions. From your little unicorn, to Pentatonix. :-)
This song never gets old!!
Everyone has a role and their voices are united equally and each has a presence and an important role to play
The song selection was excellent! Plus, I'm on a sugar high from all the ear candy in all of the songs and the way the harmonies weave in and out. I enjoyed it thoroughly!
I love when you react to pentatonix your reactions to them is literally me
Todrick did do just that. His autobiographical take, "Straight Outta Oz" is just an incredible piece of work.
Todrick has a whole series based on WOO. Watch Low by Todrick Hall ft Rupaul. Also Straight Otta Oz which is long. You seem to know Todrick so you know how insanely talented he is
This is one I hadn't heard yet. Thanks for introducing it to me! I love Pentatonix and this is a great medley.
I had to watch this twice ... once for the music video and then again just to see your reactions! Loved it, you and all the singers! Thank you. I’ll probably watch it a few more times.
Omg yess. I love todricks music
I've waited for this reaction for months, I'm so happy right now
Your reaction was so wonderful yo see. I realize after this amount of time. Comments probably don't matter. But the amount of utter joy was wonderful to see. Thank you I enjoyed it more than I can say.
Thank u! They do matter and you matter ❤️
I thought the same girl! It should be a Broadway show! 👏👏👏
