YEEEESSSSS! I love when reactors find this video. One thing most people miss is how each song tells the story. "Blown Away" is about a tornado. "Shoes" is about...well shoes. The scarecrow sings about thinking (wanted a brain), tin man's song is about his heart and the lion is about courage. Even the wizard's song was about power and the illusion of it. Great reaction. Much love and keep on keepin on J.
Todrick also collabbed with "the trio" (Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin) on another of his songs called 'Black and White'. It is a really fun song with another great video.
OMG! Such a fun upbeat song! And of course, they all kill it!
You mentioned the love that they have for each other is spot on! At the end, when Kirsty is clicking her heels, Scott looks over at her so adoringly that it melts my heart every time I watch this! I believe this was her first video to take the lead/spotlight and they were all so happy and proud of her for slaying it!

No one ever mentions the atta girl expression and slight nod from Todrick to Kirsty during the Home Mashup. I thought that was really sweet too.

If you really want to hear Kirstie's beautiful, and sassy voice, You absolutely have to hear her, and her whistle notes, in Seasons Of Love. She really let's go, feels the music, and show's even more of her amazing talent. Also love Kirstie and Scott's smiles, when they nail their parts.
Todrick Hall was introduced to the American public on American Idol, where he made it to the semi-finals. Through viral RUclips videos, he’s amassed quite a following. He was recently in a Broadway production of “Waitress”, and then most recently starred as Billy Flynn in the West End production of “Chicago”. He’s an occasional judge and choreographer on “RuPaul’s Drag Race”!

Toddrick is insanely talented. He said that Scott was with him during his American Idol audition (he made it and did pretty well). Anyway, one of my favorite Toddrick videos is called "4 the 90s," a wonderful medley of 90s music.
Yes he is and did. I think he placed 10th the year he was in. But the judges sure missed Scott's talent.
Todrick Hall grew up in Arlington, Texas, a few years ahead of Kirstie and Scott, and knew them from childhood. He is an enormously talented director, writer, choreographer, singer, arranger, producer, and cinematographer. It was he who did this fabulous retelling of the Wizard of Oz stories, with up to date songs and lyrics, and then asked his friends to star in his production. Simply amazing! YOU REALLY NEED TO FOLLOW UP WITH HIS ORIGINAL, "BLACK AND WHITE" WITH THE TRIO CO-STARRING WITH HIM! Pretty please!
Pentatonix did a complete cover of Somewhere over the Rainbow with Kirsty taking lead on their Classics album.

lol after the dozens of times I've seen this video, only JUST NOW did I realize that while Todrick is rapping, they're going "OH WEE OH" as part of the background vocals. *eyerolls at self*
Todrick is super talented... Sings, raps, writes, dances and does choreography, directs, acts... Like everything.
He has a bunch of similar stuff to this (mashups/medleys of pop songs set to the plots of other films), other cool mashups/medleys... He also does fun parodies and his own original material.
He has two cool visual albums that can be watched as movies too. One is kinda his life story mixed with the Wizard of Oz (one song, Black and White featuring 3 of Pentatonix, was featured on the deluxe version, I think), the other is an interesting commentary on race and homosexuality, set in a topsy turvy version of like 50's America with black homosexuals as the majority and the white and heterosexual people being the frowned upon minorities... It's a little on the nose in places, but it's still a great watch with some amazing music and fun comedy as well as the heart-breaking moments later on... They both have a load of cool and talented cameos/features too.
Either way, I totally recommend watching a load more of his stuff.
The most genius music video ever produced! Everyone was absolutely brilliant in their parts...but let's face it, Kirstie was the ABSOLUTE star of this one. This was her first real chance to shine brightly and she knocked it out of the park!! Todrick grew up in the same city (Arlington, Texas) as Mitch, Scott & Kirstie. He was a couple of years older than them and went to a different high school, but they all knew each other from local musical theater.
PTX and Todrick Hall combine for the most inventive and superbly produced mash=up of all time in my opinion. Grammy worthy for sure.
OMG! Todrick Hall. Not only does he sing and have his own live shows that go on tour but ... He is a very sought-after producer in Hollywood. He co-produced with Taylor Swift the "You Need To Calm Down" video and acted in it and produced the MTV stage show for it for Taylor and sat with her at the MTV Awards. He also produced segments of Gwen Stephani's Christmas show a couple of years ago. The guy is dripping with talent and very well known. BTW - He shot the Wizard of Ahhhs with Pentatonix in 1 day.

This is typical Todrick Hall very theatrical, like all of his videos! He is an amazing talent! Pentatonix and SuperFruit have performed in a few of his videos. Black and White / Todrick's parody of Pentatonix Daft Funk video is epic. So talented!
Schnell I believe in my heart of hearts this is what you get when you put people together for years. Scott, Kirsty, and Mitch are who they are because they have sung together since high school. I don't think people really get that. I grew up in an era when teams had the same players for years and they learned one another in a way that only comes with time. You can not teach what Scott, Kirstie and Mitch have as far as listening to one another and really feeling dedicated to the sound of the group. Now you add and in KO and a Bass either Avi, let's not pretend he was amazing and we miss him, or Matt. What you are left with is nothing less than pure magic. Here is what I mean. A magician spends years, YEARS, perfecting a move to give you that 10 seconds of amazement. PTX has done the same. They have spent YEARS of singing together to give you that sound that makes you smile for a few seconds. Enjoy it acknowledge it. For it's beauty shall surpass us all. Wow!! Thank you for doing this. I had not seen this video. So I was reacting to it right along with you. I love how they mashed modern songs to walk through the Wizard of Oz story. This was very unique and so fun to watch. Great reaction video. You are knocking it out of the park Mrs Jordan.
I'm so glad you did this one...I KNEW you would LOVE this. It's fun and it really shines on Kirstie, although they all shined. Their talent is super-human. BTW, I also knew you were going to say (I noticed it was under your breath) 'is that Mitch?" near the beginning...I love when you do that !! Kudos to you re "ButterScott"...he's your current favorite, but I've heard you give love to each one in prior reactions. That's OK, because their are legions of Pentaholics that have their favorites, but the best is they love each other, which can be seen in their videos...especially the off mic, interviews and casual recordings. My favorite is Kirstie, not because she has the best voice (still amazing), but if you were to see the group's beginning, she was probably the most insecure member...yet, she has truly grown the most and is now totally confident of her talent and abilities. LOVE THEM ALL !!
I can't wait until December, so I can start recommending a number of their Xmas songs...there is so many that will blow you away.

One other person that reacted to this came up with the idea of PTX making an updated version of the whole movie....that would be Awesome!....but at the same time think of all the work that would have to be done for such a project!!
Todrick, Kirstin, Mitch, and Scott grew up together. Todrick was a contestant on American Idol. He does great arranging. He also did a video with the trio called Black and White, that's worth reacting to.

First, who knew you could tell the story of Oz in 7 minutes. Also Todrick Hall is awesome also. I think you would like his Black and White (With Kirstin, Mitch and BUTTER Scott) also, for one of his other originals is Wrong Bitch, Bitch (think of the wizard of Oz with DragQueens in NYC. Ok you need to dive into Toddrick Hall. He is a Mashup and Creative Genius. An Unsigned Artist that was on the cover of Rolling Stone this summer. He really is amazing.
Todrick Hall also did a cameo of Pentatonix called "Pentatodrix by Todrick Hall". Superfruit (Scott & Mitch) reacted to it in their "Reaction to Pentatodrix". Both are worth watching.
I think I would choose being able to read minds assuming I am able to control when I am and am not doing so. That way I would be able to communicate with people who don't speak my language. Also, seeing as you enjoy A Capella music, I would like to recommend the group Citizen Queen. They are an all female group age 19-22 put together by Scott from PTX and a few others. They only have 12 songs/music videos out right now, but I know that they have original music in the works/coming soon. I recommend starting with No Tears Left to Cry followed by Evolution of Girl Groups and watch all the way to the end, because they show the names/ who's who.

Todrick is brilliant, funny, and super creative. This was done in 2013. You must check him out. He has collaborated with PTX and Superfruit in other videos. I recommend his tongue in cheek Pentatodrix video, in which he does a hysterical parody of their Daft Punk video.

Look into Todrick, he went to the same high school that the trio did a few years earlier. He was also on American Idol, Broadway and has his own tours. If you have seen Pentatonix Daft Punk Todrick recreated it and u can see it on Superfruit.
He didn't go to the same high school. Just lived in the same town. He went to Bowie high school and the trio attended Martin high both in Arlington Texas. Plus todrick is 5-6 years is older and wouldn't have been in school with them anyway.

Todrick Hall is a genius when it comes to designing videos, songs, etc. He has another song with Scott, Mitch and Kirstin titled "Black and White" that's great. He also does his own parody of their Daft Punk video that is hilarious. There's a Superfruit (Scott & Mitch) video of them watching Todrick's Daft Punk parody that's just as funny.

Such a Fun Video, not to mention their phenomenal voices. I think too often people forget this is all acapella. True vocal awesomeness without Instruments! And Todrick Hall is amazing on his own.
I choose invisibility! But above that I would control time! I could stay up until 3 in the morning, then pause time for 11 hours and wake up at 4 for work with 12 hours of sleep! The only downside is that you are still aging during the time you pause, so I'd be like 65 by time I should be 50😂
The brief "21st Century Schizoid Man" is from King Crimson... probably lost on 99% of the people who will see this video.
Yes, never heard of it. But will look it up, now. Thanks. That 1969 performance led me to stay away from the rest of King Crimson’s videos, just not my taste. Not sure how it fits into Oz, other than the obvious idea that the wizard is a fraud.

Back in the day I listened to Court of the Crimson King. It was... interesting.
But then I found out that Kanye West came out with a song entitled 21st Century Schizoid Man. This is the song Todrick is rapping.

The song they have used is “Power” by Kanye West which includes the lyrics 21st century schizoid man. I doubt they were thinking about King Crimson!

As you say ,, it may be a mash-up ,, but it makes sense. It tells you a 2 hour movie, in 10 minutes or less.

I watched this again (it's so good), but I loved when each time one of the members began to sing (including Todrick) you had a mouth-dropping look...so cute. I may be out of place by saying this, but I think that Kirstie and you are both the two most naturally beautiful women on RUclips !!
This one always takes reactors but surprise! I cant get over how well they picked the songs that retold the story so well! Mitch just shines too! The transition from Scott to Mitch with the “do you” was brilliant! And when Kirstin sings “you’re lying on the cold hard ground” to Avi who is a”lion on the ground” ....just so well played! Kirstin dreamt of being on Broadway (which she has now) so she was indeed spectacular! Is there anything PTX can’t do? Nope. Fantastic arranging & harmonizing as always! If you like Kirstie on Somewhere over the rainbow, pentatonix did a full different version of it years after this on their classics album. Kirstie has the lead again and the arrangement is beautiful. Unfortunately it doesn't have a video so it would have to be audio only. Or another Kirstie lead is their cover of Rather Be or their brand new original song Be My Eyes which she helped to write.

This video was great fun and loved the tribute to King Crimson (21st Century Schizoid Man). I don't want to know what others are thinking either so I chose being invisible. Can't wait to see where your next step on your Angelina Jordan journey takes you. So much ground to cover before her first album on Republic Records is released.

HI Schnell. It seems like Pentatinox cannot do anything that is just so so ? Everything they do, seems to be next level. I watched a reaction video of a reactor who I think is Irish and he listened to apparently his 3rd Pentatinox video and he commented, " Now your just showing off ". And he said that tongue in cheek to be funny as you are stunned at the amount of talent and time that must take come up with some of their creations. He was pretty blown away, as many of us are. A Capella has become sort of its own genera now and groups like Home Free and Pentatinox are sort of the gold standard. Ps. I remembered a comment you made in jest about "Home Free" asking " Where are these guys from". And I laughed just a little because their home is ( or was) Mankato , Minnesota. That is not the mecca of music by any means and to put in Canadian terms it is 793 miles due south of Winnipeg. lol Schnell we love you and thank you for putting up with us. With love from Florida

Did you know Todrick to the same high school as Mitch, Kirstin and Scott? He's a bit older but I think that's astounding that 4 of them are from the same place in Texas. Todrick is a very talented producer and performer. He has been on Broadway as has Kirstin.
Not sure why people think that. Im assuming its just because they came from the same town. Todrick actually attended Bowie high school in Arlington. It somehow keeps spreading but isn't really true.

Probably because they all knew each other and grew up in the same town before fame. Once someone assumed it and said it, many others followed and said it too. Todrick's high school can be found on the internet.
