I can watch Casino, Goodfellas, The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, The Wire, etc. many times over. I tried watching this movie a second time and couldn't take 20 minutes of it.
It’s interesting that the story was about Dickie Molisanti, not Tony Soprano. If you watch it knowing it’s about Dickie and not Tony you will appreciate it more. Tony loved his uncle and really looked up to him. He saw him as a father figure more than his own father. It explains Tony’s relationship with Christopher. This film is NOT about Tony. It’s about the Moltasanti’s. Dickie was a Capo in the DiMeo Crime family. He didn’t want Tony to have that life.
Horrible movie. Chase should've did a prequel series with Michael Gandolfini playing his dad and showing us how he grows up robbs Feetch card game show us who made Tony and his life as a soldier. Michael said in an interview that he would love to play his father in a younger version of Tony. Just my opinion
Eh I think that’s what they were going to do next if the film generated enough interest and gave Michael a couple more years for it to be realistic, but nope….
Agree. The show made so many references to cool sounding stories from the past (Feech’s card game, Lou DiMaggio, Dickies time in prison.) and instead we got a “white people are evil” throwaway production
@@tonyreyes3780it wasnt a "white people are evil" movie at all. The film is literally full of mobsters and killers. These people were hypocrites and no good individuals. Tony's parents were pieces of 💩. Dickie Moltisanti was not a saint, etc.
Yeah in a way Tony was a bad father and bad influence to AJ and Carmella was a bad mother at times too. Them kids had it way too good they were always spoiled.
This movie had its moments but there were way too many boring stretches. I became a sopranos fan because I was introduced to it from clips right here on RUclips so I watched the entire series and it's phenomenal but this movie was a letdown.

not good
Awful depiction and lies of racism during the Newark riots by Italians
She looks a lot like Carmela

Interesting how Chris' age was off by like 10 years then.
Yea, Moltisanti means many saints, that was the point
Was his father a made guy or capo?
Well this movie is being told by christopher’s ghost so it makes sense 😂😂
At about 2:23, it’s the best scene on the entire movie, that one and the ending one with Michael Imperioli’s line.

That would of been an amazing show i feel like we got robbed
Shut up bro “ terrible movie” Jesus show a lil respect at least they gave us something
He didn't have the makings of a varsity athlete.
Johnny should've seen about sending Tony off to military school
Vera Farmiga was way too good for this movie.
Years later A.J. does the same thing

my God is the actress who plays Livia a hottie WHEEEEEEEW

wdym by boring stretches. do you consider this boring? do you consider the therapy scenes boring?
Looks horrendous & very corny, the mother isn’t even playing the same character?
Did you watch the movie?
