    Nice ride can you point out how you made the qs8 8s male harness?Never seen male one

    • @InnovationRC
      @InnovationRC  Год назад +1

      For series setup? I run female ends on all my batteries so I made a male to male end connector to link the batteries in series. One end goes in negative the other positive of the other battery so make a series connection between the different setups

    • @ozzracer

      @@InnovationRC I see on this video you made a harness on the esc side or am I wrong?

    • @ozzracer
      @ozzracer Год назад

      Ah my bad sry you made it on the battery side but you didn’t use qs8 plastics on the esc

    • @InnovationRC
      @InnovationRC  Год назад +1

      @@ozzracer no harness. It's just a series wire with two males on it. The qs8 connectors are always on the batteries. I normally run 8mm bullets on batteries. But the series connector I said I made can still be used for qs8 or 8mm bullet connectors (all 8mm).

    Gonna ask a question that I hope is taken in the best way. The guys racing at Rossa tell us the Onyx Lipos are king. On some of the forums with actual data, they tell us that it is the SMC Lipos that are king in evidence-based world. Others on YT tell us that the CNHL batteries are the way to go - an in the same vein, you are now on their team with your version, the Innovation Lipo. Give it to us straight... please.

    • @InnovationRC
      @InnovationRC  Год назад +3

      Alrighty here's what I got. Ford or Chevy? Onyx and SMC are basically the same batteries, they're speedrun packs are always 2p parallel packs in one. (Two smaller batteries in parallel) so they're already running parallel. Compared to single 1p CNHL packs. So it's super close in power to begin with. Of course 2p packs may be slightly superior, but these high cap CNHL batteries have superior cells individually. They're legit 10,000mah cells, not two 5k in parallel. Imagine a true 2p 10,000mah pack? It likely wouldn't even fit in these cars hence why they don't make it. If you want superiority, fight fire with fire. Run 10k mah packs in parallel... Then it'll be an equal match up. Haven't seen many give data on running parallel CNHL to make a 2p setup compared with another (pre made 2p). I ran Colossus at 111 Mph, a 35lb truck with a parallel 8s setup, less than one volt of voltage drop with CNHL... Just run parallel anything and you'll do insane numbers. It all comes down to customer service in my opinion at that point.
      Now longevity: SMC and onyx are very potent but for a very short life span, they even state it on the website which is a clear drawback but a necessary evil to the nature of those batteries.
      CNHL g+ or 90c or IRC edition high cap series batteries will stay at their potency for a much longer time I've noticed. I've had SMC batteries that were insanely good for like 5 passes then puff up. Also had another set of SMC batteries arrive puffy and Danny from customer support telling me that's normal, and they won't replace them (Rolls eyes), (also his loss lol). CNHL just lasts longer imo. If you want 160-170+ Mph you can definitely get that with either brand CNHL, onyx, or smc. But if your fighting for a world record you might as well run a parallel setup with the highest capacity anything. As long as the battery cells can cover the load demand from whatever setup, you'll run it's fine.
      But if I'm breaking a record, you can bet your a$s I'll be running 10k mah in parallel. 600amps of load to 20,000mah is nothing if the cells are of high quality. And that they are. Parallel is king. Just depends how you do it...
      Also, build yourself a huge battery tray utilizing as much space possible. If your doing crazy stuff, space should never be an issue if you make it work. Can fit 4, 4s 10,000mah in Spartan and Vision. They won't have an issue worrying what's the better battery because they can run parallel anything.

      @InnovationRC  Год назад

      Hello! I believe I responded to your previous comment. These batteries are way too big for the new V2 limitless trays. If you intend to do crazy stuff, make your own battery tray. Both Spartan and Vision can run 4, 4s 10,000mah if needed...

    Good explanation on the difference between Onyx, SMC an CNHL!
    But now I'm curious about your opinion on C-ratings in general... I run CNHL9500s 4S 90C, which in my opinion means 90*9.5=810 amps continuous, but I'm stuck at 155s and "just" 416 amps... Gearing up means a too big of a voltage drop below 3 volts per cell. They only had 10 runs. So my conclusion is that they're not 90C. CNHL even says the burst is 180c. I run XLX2/1721 and the CNHL seems like the bottleneck.
    I dont mean to bash CNHL, I love them! But C-ratings in general are a bit of a scam IMO.
    Very interested in your opinion, because there is no one on YT thats appointing this and, you just connected your name to a 1000amp continous lipo :)

    • @diemturner5755
      @diemturner5755 Год назад

      Sucks you never got an answer here but, if you'll allow, I can give you a comprehensive answer. I'm in no way affiliated with Innovation RC nor am I speaking for him or representing him. The following information is the result of my own obsessive research regarding lipos, what's true, what's myth.
      First off, it's safe to ignore the C-rating printed on any lipo. The number is meaningless as no standardized method for determining C-rating has ever been established and, as such, everyone developed their own method that produces the numbers that they want to have on their packs. C-rating became a marketing tool a number of years ago and since they were able to change this attribute (that has no method for verification) arbitrarily as needed.
      The 90C CNHL line is ok but, if you want to know which CNHL lipos are the best performers in terms of IR, voltage sag under load and, as a result, top speeds, look no further than the 70C G+ line. I know they don't look the part, but they not only perform really well (if you factor in the cost they are, without equal). the production quality of that line has been exceptionally consistent over time. The CNHL lipos have all been tested and the G+ 70C are hands down, the best that CNHL has to offer. The 1721 pulls an awful lot of amps and the CNHL is definitely the bottleneck as you've correctly identified.
      Currently the best performing lipos are (in no particular order) SMC-SRD V2 (SRD V3 drop around end of May, AZURE from RedondoBeach RC and ONYX (comp, LiHV and Modified LHB packs have all proven their worth on airfields around the world, including James McCoy's current WR of 214mph.
