I know its easier said than done, but honestly SEGA needs to get back in the console market. I would reccomend they focus on the retro scene, from making great 2d platformers to metroidvanias.
Agree . Imagine a Sega console that has carts and CD slots with a online store for modern Sega Games . They definitely could be the innovators of gaming if they made a wild comeback

Sunset Riders is an awesome adaption, but unfortunately, it seems to be on indefinite hold at the moment while TiagoSC focuses on his programming dayjob for awhile. There's also aMaru's Ghouls 'n Ghosts adaption that is aiming to be extraordinarily faithful to the arcade original; aMaru is really pushing the Mega Drive's hardware to accomplish this feat.
Can't help but feel like most of these don't look or feel like genesis games. I thought that would've been the goal? If many of these teams are just gonna make something that looks and plays like an indie steam title, then what was the point?

My TurboGrafx-16 in the early 90s had fewer yearly game releases than the Genesis/MD has in the last couple years & they’re quality games too
NEC wouldn't localize their PC Engine games, and third party devs in Japan wouldn't, either.
"Bio Evil" with this perspective and the very MIDI-esque music gives very strong vibes of an old DOS-Classic, "Veil of Darkness".
