Premier League clubs can only register 25 players for the season which can get amended in January. Sure you can rotate players, but that can only go so far. We've seen it over the years where managers sacrifice domestic knock out competitions, and use their youth players. If the top clubs are playing 50-60 matches a season, then you are in essence playing a match every 4 days from August to May, which is 39 weeks.
As for a break for those in England. The first thing I would address would be PL winter break. It should be at the same time as the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Serie A.

It will mean that teams need to use the squad and players will be not burnt out in international tournaments. Even expand the squads if necessary. Also that quote was only referred to the best of the best players. That’s why they referenced to haaland and salah. Look at rashford and co. Martinelli. They have been horrible but they had their breaks

Would love to hear an explanation of player wages/clubs and their off-shore tax free bank accounts - particularly United, who's billionaire owners pay ZERO UK tax and think we should help fund their new stadium. Player welfare argument is rubbish - 50-60 games a season is just over a game a week ffs - less per player if you take in rotation.

Its really simple... If players want less games but continue to demand their disgusting wages then someone else will have to pony up to bridge the gap and who will that be... US... Subscriptions will increase, season tickets will increase! So basically the players want us to pay more for less content, disgraceful behaviour.

Short career! Every career is especially in the construction industry unless you apply yourself and progress to a non physical role. Footballers have a the options ie. Management, coaching, scouting, TV roles etc all else fails investing they're millions

Then why is the PFA not dead against the Nations league, its more pointless football, just to have more football, makes very little difference in the Euros or World Cup and Simon is right, clubs have squads and the point of a squad is to rest players, the clubs that play the most games have the bigger squads or means to have the bigger squads, if players go on strike that would be perfect, they will lose the support of all fans, most of which have to work two or three jobs to make way, instead of players being paid weekly, pay them per appearance and make that 20% of what they get now, then make the win bonus, clean sheet, assist and goal bonuses 80% of the wages they currently get, they wont want a brake or to strike.
