I wish I could enjoy using them. I just feel stressed 😫 I have Aspergers & learning disabilities & my brain is JUST BLANK. Which way round do the 2nd bits go-AFTER Pointy bits? & what if you’ve got 4 different bits in your box??
I find it easier to match up the Snaps if I use the Awl through both Top & Bottom Fabrics at the same time rather than try to line up one with the other once you have fitted it...
Thanks for helping me make the decision to get the Snap set. Your tutorial was great! Easy to follow and a good explanation on how to fix the snap if you get it on incorrectly. Bravo!!
Thank you for this video! I just used Kam snaps today for 2 fabric snap purses. Your instructions were clear & easy to understand. Thank you!! * Inspired by one of the comments here, when lining up the snap holes, I put a piece of solid cardboard inside the purse & the awl only pierces the flap & the front of the purse, but doesn't go through the back.
Thank you so much for this video. I have never used kam snaps and I am going to use them on a convertible mitten set. You have given great instructions.
Thanks! I'm glad our video was helpful. We made some fabric trays with Kam Snaps in the corners. needlepointers.com/main/youtubecontent.aspx?RUclipsPageID=175. I also use them on kitchen towels and they work great!

Hi....I am not a needlepointer but I truly appreciated this video showing me how to use the KAM Snaps.....you made it so easy to follow and I truly appreciate it. I gave your video a thumbs up and I'm sure I will be back to watch again if I forget how to do this. Thank you you so much :) Hugs.....Janie (even though I do not do needlepoint, I do have a craft channel if you ever want to stop by and check it out. I will check out your channel more later in case you have other helpful things)
Hi Janie, thank you for your interest in our video and I'm glad it helped you. We have many types of crafts, not just needlepoint. You have a nice channel! We subscribed to your channel also.
Make sure you are pushing down evenly when you use the pliers. If the little pin squishes to one side or the other, it will make it hard to open/close.
I have the same issues. I will never purchase these again, I brought them a while ago and I’ve had the same issue everytime I’ve tried to use them. Then when I do have this issue they’re impossible to get off
I make many poppies both red &purple to raise money for the Royal British Legion Nov 11th every year The snaps are great to use for the black centres, & also give a better finished look to the poppies
I just got mine and had to use your useful video to work out how to use it as the instructions are very strange! They suggest cutting the point off one of the buttons in order to make it snap together. When I did this is worked but not without this.
Wow, that is strange that it says to cut the point off. I have never heard that. Glad you got it to work! Subscribe to our channel for lots of other videos!
Thanks for your video. QUESTION: I have grip issues with my hands; Would you please measure the widest part of the plier-tool handles? Do the Kam snapps come with any other type of setting tool?
The widest part is 3/4" wide. I see on their web site they have a mounting base for the pliers. Maybe that would work for you. Take a look at this page: kamsnaps.com/collections/kam-snap-fastener-press-machine-dies. It's near the end of the list.
I have 2 questions. I have a tool that looks like pliers but has round ends that look like a snap would fit in each side. Will this work? Will these work on kitchen towel corners? Thanks.
Thanks for your question! The Kam snap pliers have a rounded side to hold the snap top. The other side is a flat circle which pushes the pin point on the rounded snap top down. It sounds like you have another type of pliers. I use Kam snaps on kitchen towels in this video/photo tutorial www.needlepointers.com/main/youtubecontent.aspx?youtubepageid=364.

Hi, Kris or Chris - This was a very clear and informative tutorial. Your instructions were easy to follow. I don't yet have these snaps and pliars - though they are in my Amazon cart - but I wanted to know, if you have time to answer, if these will work on reinforced paper and/or card stock? Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm now going to subscribe and watch other of your videos. Thanks much. Diane
Diane, I have never used the Kam snaps on paper. They may work though if the paper is thicker. I would suggest that you ask the company and see what they say. Their site is: kamsnaps.com/. Let me know what you find out because I'm interested to know!
This happens to me sometimes. I think if you don't press it evenly sometimes this happens. I can sometimes use a pointed object to push the point more to the center and then press it again. Or remove the snap and try again.
You can find links to buy the snaps and the case here: www.needlepointers.com/main/youtubecontent.aspx?RUclipsPageID=20. Please be sure to subscribe to our channel because we post new videos regularly. Also, follow us on Facebook and/or Twitter for more content and videos.
The T5 snaps I have would probably not work on sweaters. The point part wouldn't be long enough since sweaters are thick. They may have a snap that would work. Check out their site and this page which has the different sized snaps they have: kamsnaps.com/collections/kam-snaps-size-14-22-24
Okay, so what is suppose to happen to the point on each cap? I have 3 packages of these snaps and I have yet to get one to work! The points stay sticking up, thus not allowing the male/female pieces to snap together!
+Connie Martin Hi Connie! When you put the pieces together and compress with the tool the point squishes down into a dot which holds the pieces together. Hope this helps!
Hi Beth! Sorry your having trouble with Kam Snaps. I assume you have the special pliers? I guess my main suggestion is to hold the pliers straight when you are squeezing. The way the snaps work, the little pin gets smushed (technical term. LOL) down and it should cover the hole that it is put through completely. If when you are squishing it, the pin goes off to one side or another, it may not hold properly. Kam Snaps has their own tutorials and tips here which may also help you: kamsnaps.com/pages/tutorials. If you still have problems, I would suggest trying to contact them for more help.

Hi. I am not sure what you mean by "bits"? If you mean the black piece that you put the kam snap pliers mine may have come with two sizes. But, I use the one which is the correct size for the snaps I have purchased.
Allie, so sorry your snaps keep coming off. I have that problem sometimes too. Sometimes you can re-insert the snap and press it again. Please see this page by the manufacturer with some other tips: kamsnaps.com/pages/troubleshoot#falling.

made a mistake and used both male in both sides how do I get one apart so I can replace one female?
it's fine,I tried mine and I got it.please does this plastic snap last more than the metal one
Paul, thanks for the question. I do not know as I have never compared.
I did it correctly but the point on one side is stopping them form snapping together. Is there any fix for that?
This happens to me sometimes. I think if you don't press it evenly sometimes this happens. I can sometimes use a pointed object to push the point more to the center and then press it again. Or remove the snap and try again.
Can i use these snaps for something other than baby clothes?

Take a look inside the female snap, if the point has squished to one side or another it can keep it from being able to snap.
SO HELPFUL THANK YOU
