  • Aid in dying, or the practice by which persons at terminal stages of life-limiting diseases may request a prescription meant to hasten death, has just become legal in California. Although aid in dying has been practiced in Oregon for almost twenty years, questions still remain about how to best implement California’s End of Life Option Act. Questions include how to protect vulnerable persons, educate patients and the public about all end-of-life options, monitor the practice, and ensure medical practitioners have necessary resources and training. In this Health Forum, our speakers will discuss these questions and provide recommendations on how to improve the implementation of the End of Life Option Act as well as end-of-life care generally.

Not one patient who seen her face has not been sad and horrified and fearful.... She thinks she is Kali ma. Them and their families have been discouraged and women have been sent home to die... Young women ... Middle aged like 39 year old mothers. This is a very dangerous tool you got in your hospitals folks.. this won't exist in Israel... Not even in her own state of India.
