Panel Discussion - "An Update on MACRA—From Volume to Value: Transforming Medical Practice"
The Paul Torrens Health Forum at UCLA - An update on MACRA-From Volume to Value: Transforming Medical Practice
Medical practice is changing, and the basis of payment for medical services is shifting from volume to value. New policy transforms the way physicians are paid and emphasizes "population health," a relatively new approach assessing health outcomes of an entire population. Last year, the Medicare Access & CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) became law. MACRA reforms Medicare payment through greater transparency and new incentives to reward better-value care over higher-volume care. In this Health Forum, our speakers will explore this transformation, discussing policy change an...

Aid in dying, or the practice by which persons at terminal stages of life-limiting diseases may request a prescription meant to hasten death, has just become legal in California. Although aid in dying has been practiced in Oregon for almost twenty years, questions still remain about how to best implement California’s End of Life Option Act. Questions include how to protect vulnerable persons, e...

Can i get the link to that document?
Is cytohubba an alternative plug in for hub gene analysis?
Can we use this for amplicon sequencing type data?
Thanks for the video. Can you please share your Rscript?
Thanks for the useful video. It will be nicer if you can share your whole WGCNA script along with transcriptome and phenotypic data.
This is such an incredible resource - thank you for making this available to the public!
Very insightful lecture. In comparing 2 datasets from the same platform, for example control vrs cancer, do you have to use the same soft thresholding power for the 2 groups or you have to use group specific soft thresholding power based on the picksoftthreshold code?
I always like to keep parameters as close as possible and in most cases I would suggest keeping the power the same for both group. There are occasional exceptions where the data is different enough that using different powers improves the comparison.
@@jeremymiller8193 Thanks so much for the reply!
Thank You for your expertise and your kindness!
Not one patient who seen her face has not been sad and horrified and fearful.... She thinks she is Kali ma. Them and their families have been discouraged and women have been sent home to die... Young women ... Middle aged like 39 year old mothers. This is a very dangerous tool you got in your hospitals folks.. this won't exist in Israel... Not even in her own state of India.
Prohibit this law... Revoke this law... This is against the law!!! Law of Elohim ... No one can decide who dies and who lives... She goes out discouraging family using dignified life dignified death in her sentences with family members as well as the patients to make them feel ashamed and choose 'dignified death as the option' and die
Watch the video how fearful patients are who see her face... She goes discouraging their families.... And push them to accept to die...
Watch her carefully.... No need to read her mind... Just watch her.... This bitch wants people dead...
And she is lying... She only pays attention to get people killed... The rest is all boloney
This witch wants to kill people ... That's all she wants...
It was very helpful. thank you so much for the video.
Thanks a lot for this video !!!
Very informative
super! clear to understand and inspiring to learn more!
I'm to stubborn, to comply, I also read code.
The original posting of this debate is gone, but there is another one. This is an important debate that should be available to the public.
Thanks Dr. Jun!
Perfectly solving my problem! Thanks a lot.
thanks ,very helpful video!!
thanks great video
Nice presentation.
Frustrating sound and video editing!!!!
Guess this might be a good talk, but errm, ähhh ähhm errrerrrerrrrmmm rmmmm ermmmm . Makes you want to write an audio filter that cuts the "eerrrm"s out, probably making the talk shorter by 1/3. Just make silent pauses if you need time to think… there's no need to kill your audience with a barrage of erms… mmkay?
totally agree
it is 1000 times better than IPA.
Hey, I know that guy.
Good and great talk, thank you Prof. Horvath
Audio has significant lag after about 2 hours in. Is there a possible fix?
~26:00 GLM 1 starts, ends around 1:09:00

Horrible audio
+Don No I requested captions. I want to see whether they can create them before I decide.
it only starts at approximately 1 hour 17 minutes
+Nichol Brummer glad they fixed that. Interesting time compression technology used here, but it has a few issues still.
Indicator is not clear. Information is missing while saying this , that etc..
Starts talking about Cytoscape around 28:10. Demo with actual usage info is 34:20.
Will Day 1 get posted again? - it's not loading right now
awesome stuff, interesting talk, but what happened around 59:00?
someone can explain me how to define source and target when we create a table for cytoscape? thanks!
I suppose this is already late, as i am believing you most likely would have found a solution to this. Nonetheless, someone in the future may have this same question, so i am offering to provide an answer. Open your source file (which you intend toi import into Cytoscape) with a text editor (in my case, I use the notepad but you can also use MS Excel). Cytoscape needs to find an identifier in the first row for the data set you want to import so what you need to do is to type in the labels (or if you want titles) for all the columns you have in the file. For instance, if your source file has four columns of data, then at the first row, you have to create four labels, one for each row. Save. Start the Cytoscape application and then go to import network. It is very important at this point that you change Cytoscape's import config to match your data set type. In my case i am using version 3.5.1, so i usually click on "Advanced Options" and then change the delimiter by deselecting "TAB" and selecting "SPACE." (If you use MS-Excel to edit your source file, then TAB delimiter should work just fine). You may as well select other delimiters as need be depending on what delimiter you have used in your source file. Click on OK and Cytoscape will automatically read in the labels of the data set accordingly. I hope this helps.
Would it be possible to write down the questions ( in the description of the video for instance ) asked by the audience during the lecture as one can barely hear them ?
help me out alot thanks
thanks
Seems to me that if the CDC has a patent on Ebola anyone who catches Ebola or there surviving relatives should be able to sue the CDC for millions.
Wow!
Hello Sir, I am trying out WGCNA with publicly available plant gene expression data. What value can I use in my 'trait.csv' ? Will discrete values like case-control suffice ?
