@@srealone788I see both sides of the coin of life in this. I see the beauty and ugliness of this world intertwined. With the cognitive dissonance in this world, it’s understandable to feel like no matter what you do there is this evil force in our subconscious preventing humanity from enlightening ourselves to our full capabilities. Some humans can be parasitic diseases that their only drive is greed and power to control the masses. But there is also beauty in nature, animals & the few humble humans out there that risk it all for the better in humanity. What do you think is the root of all evil?
That's like saying you should just stop brushing your teeth because bacteria will repopulate. You can't get your microplastics ingestion down to 0% but you can GREATLY reduce it by no longer consuming food/beverages stored in plastic. You can also significant reduce the microplastics inside your body by sweating and donating blood/plasma regularly.

I recently switched out plastic tooth brushes for bamboo, and this is a good reminder to avoid straws, as well. I will continue to limit plastic containers and water bottles as much as possible, and get an air purifier since I wonder if it’s in the air we breathe, as was mentioned. If companies stopped selling cheap crap we’d all not have these issue. Who knows how many undiagnosed illnesses are being swept under the rug due to the trauma our bodies are going through trying to process plastic in our bodies.

MOVE TO HEMP EVERYRHING! Porducts that require water proofing can be spray treated. Products that need to be resilient can be spray hardened. No reason why in this time, plastics are still the first choice for most things.
Spray treating for waterproofing opens another whole can of toxic worms....

So PVC tubing/pipe that is used in most new residential plumbing, is #3.
EPA is reviewing a ban, and that's why you see stories like "Vinyl records are making a come back" they are trying to sell off as much PVC before it's considered hazardous waste.
People don’t realize that even if we stopped producing plastic from here on in , microplastic is here to stay for hundreds of years.
But it will get worse and worse the more we use.
Gotta start somewhere
I think plastic-eating bacteria would have evolved long before those 'hundreds of years' and would have decomposed all the plastics. Which isn't exactly a great situation either because plastic is a very useful material due to its inability to rot.

Plastics itself are not toxic, its the chemical added and plasticizers that are toxic. Plastics are polymers. Polymers are monomers that have reacted. Of course PVC is not ideal, but PE, PVA, PEG, are fine.

Plastic bottles isn't where airborne micro plastics are coming from. They're coming from washing and drying polyester and fleece clothing mainly. Buy natural materials like cotton, rayon, bamboo, hemp, etc instead.
Conservative and independent thinker here, I happen to agree. Let’s stop the wasteful overuse of disposable plastics. I would say it needs to be the consumer making the better choice to steer the market, but
A) There are few alternatives to choose
and
B) I’ve got coworkers who because we get free water bottles, take one sip and dump the rest out. Or leave it somewhere and it just gets tossed unused. And even though I’ve tactfully brought it up, they sure as heck ain’t gonna save the bottle to recycle it. (I took the empty ones from them for awhile, but I’ve given up the fight as I don’t believe they’re really even being recycled effectively, or at all.)
No, we need companies and governments to collaborate on new materials and older traditional methods… make it work somehow, this is a solvable problem.
One last thing. Less complaining, more solutions. What’s the best big picture approach and then what’s the process and technology required to get there?
Would be nice if the audio worked
we need to come up with better ideas on how to handle this problem before it over takes us and becomes the biggest problem
