1. Robot vacuum & a large standalone air purifier. A lot of household dust is plastic. This is a larger part of the problem than is being properly measured, especially with all the vinyl plank flooring, urethaned wood flooring, plastic carpet, & epoxy sealed concrete that's common. Basically if you're not on tile, you can count on plastic being rubbed off of your floor from foot traffic. 2. Avoid liquids in plastic. NEVER heat liquids in plastic or put hot liquids in plastic. Plasticizers transfer to liquids FAR more readily than solids, especially when heated. 3. Limit plastic containers to dry storage, this will eliminate the overwhelming majority of the interaction between food & plastic. Reducing temperature basically eliminates plasticizer transfer, so dry storage in fridge is fine IMO. I also like to put a paper towel down under any dry things I put into plastic storage containers. Barrier between food & plastic, reduces cleanup later, & helps absorb any residual moisture instead of condensing on interior of container. 4. Currently repurposing my plastic containers to non-food storage & replacing all my food storage with glass containers & jars. 5. Threw away any t-shirts & underwear with plastic in the weave. Anything with direct skin contact or near my face, I go all natural materials. 6. Outer layers I've switched to using a wool sweater & a wool peacoat when it's truly cold, as well as an alpaca wool beanie cap, but they are bulky so I keep my nylon-based jackets & shells around for situations I need packable cold weather gear. Weight to warmth ratio is one thing natural materials just can't compete on. They are always going to be heavier. 7. Cotton & linen in the heat. I've removed basically all plastic outside of elastic waistbands from my summer clothes too by upgrading to higher quality cotton shirts, wearing shorts, & using linen for long pants. Where I'm at the summers are brutal with heat & humidity, it's too much for jeans so finding a good linen pant was huge for me. Does take some ironing to keep it looking good, but it actually feels much better & breezier than the blended cotton/plastic pants I was previously using that claimed to be highly breathable. 8. All cotton sheets & wool blankets. No blends. Because your face is so near them it's especially important for these to not contain any plastics.
9: Any plastic containers need to be kept out of the sun as much as possible as UV radiation will decay the plastic and cause microplastics to contaminate whatever the plastic is in contact with.

I was quite surprised that you would get plastics from metal cans. So I did a couple of google searches. Apparently the cans are coated with (usually) epoxy to prevent a metal taste from being acquired by the foods especially in acidic foods. Epoxy and some other variants are the ones leeching the plastic into our foods. California as usual is pushing the envelope on this front and requires labeling. Which means some companies are switching over to non- plastic leeching chemicals.

Big way you left out that they get in, is using metal utensils with plastic dishes. Plastic on plastic is not so bad, but metal scraping will take hunks of plastic with it as you eat. Also reversed osmosis water kind of sucks as it takes too much of the good parts of the water out.
I have implemented most of the things you talked about already. I read that sauna and eating leafy greens is also helpful for helping the body remove plastics. My father recently died from ALS I’m convinced microplastics and chemicals around him manifested the disease. He thought it was all a lie and now he is dead.
I suspect that stainless steel adds ions of heavy metals to water and food. Especially to food containing organic acids (vegetables and fruits). Stainless steel is an alloy with chrome, nickel and other heavy metals. Some small amount of those ions always are dissolved with water and organic acids. Most inert materials are glass or vitreous materials like china. Use them.
Canned goods generally used an epoxi or polyester liner. So did aluminium can beverages. Since canned goods are moving away from BPA they have diversified the kind of plastics used. There are still polyesters and epoxies in cans but also other stuff like acrylic, olefins etc is also used now. The BPA free thermosetting plastics often still use a bisphenol, but a less studied one that we don't (yet?) know is harmful like BPS. The endocrine disruptors that leach from plastics that contain them are generally not water soluble, which doesn't mean watery things are entirely free of BPA but it does mean that coconut milk can be a 100 times worse than baked beans or canned corn. Tea bags can be an enormous source of microplastics. A few are entirely made of PP, others are glued with PP. Both of these are awful and can release billions of nano-plastic particles in hot water. Plastic free tea bags exist, but are rare; the traditional way was to fold the bag and use a metallic staple to keep it relatively shut. Some use other plastics that are biodegradeable, non-GMO organic biopolymer-buzzword-buzzword; usually this means PLA, the stuff you use for 3D printing filament. And it's sort of biodegradeable over a couple of years in an industrial compost but I wouldn't want to eat it. We can (and sometimes do) make PVC from pure, natural biomass and sea salt; but it's still PVC and still has the same problems; this doesn't mean anything.
Almost 2 years ago I had a simple cataract surgery replacement, was told it is inert, and no one is allergic to the Lens. A simple replacement has been a nightmare. My eye is on fire, and it feels like I have a ball of plastic in my eye. I feel it constantly and it hasn't been an improvement. I know others have done well with this surgery, but not as much as the internet would lead you to believe. Just throwing that out there, as I have heard other horrid stories since. Maybe along the line of breast implants. Plastic type material is scary, our body knows what is not naturally ours.
They allergy tested two types on hubby before putting his in to be certain he wouldn't have a reaction after a few really bad patient reaction. It's been close to 13 years now and he's fine. Time to yell at your insurance. 😳
I already installed the RO + UV filtration system in my apartment 2 years back. I used a plumber to install and spent over 1k for it all including installation…. And we also replace the uv bulb and ro filter every year and test the ppm every 3 months. Worth every penny 😅
check if your osmotic filter doesnt leak contaminated water after hours of not using it. Because there is clear and dirty water sitting within filter and it can leak bad stuff into clear water. Use tds meter to do it
Personally, I use a water distiller made entirely of stainless steel, with a stainless steel blade and a porcelain spout, combined with a charcoal filter and a glass container. I believe that distilling water and then revitalizing it using a vortex for several minutes is the safest and most effective way to obtain the purest and most "alive" water in the world. Unlike a reverse osmosis system which is still better than drinking tap water directly there are no plastic residues from materials with a distiller. Plus, water distillers are generally more affordable. It’s true that distilled water contains no minerals, but minerals should come from food (fruits and vegetables) not water.
I've been following your videos and work since nearly the beginning and have been deeply moved by your journey; however I have been aware of micro plastics and chemical toxins for 30 years and your coverage of micro plastics and toxins in this video is a diluted vague addressing of the actuality of the industrial world we are in, that we endorse and support. As you have a big following, I would appreciate if you went far deeper, as deep into this topic as you seem to in your other explorations of health and longevity.
Eat healthy, exercise, take vitamin tabs, eat fermented cabbage such as Sauerkraut & kimchi, take one spoon of extra virgin olive oil and apple cider vinegar, drink kefir yogurt drink & matcha green tea and sleep well.. That's what I've done and just celebrated my 65th birthday lately. 😊😊😊
I hope you also got rid of your artificial grass outside where you do your workout on. Because these things are a huge source of microplastics. Every time you generate traction you're creating microplastics. Also you should get rid of dish sponges etc made of plastic. Every time you wash up you're grating microplastic onto your dishware
Any evidence that the microplastics are causing harm? Or just evidence that they exist and didnt before? We put all kinds of weird unnatural stuff in our bodies that didnt exist before, on purpose, all the time, in huge quantities and think nothing of it. Is this small amount of plastic decaying and producing dangerous molecules/particles? Does it decay at a rate outpacing human lifespans?
Yes, evidence is mounting and for some microplastics like BPA and phtalates it is practucally proven for other types it most likely causes a lot of harm. Watch Rhonda Patrick's 1 hour video on the topic.
I've read that one of the main sources are cosmetics that have things like glitter in them, and it doesn't get in through the skin but through the eyes.
I'd want to try this but I dont know how much this would benefit me right now, at the moment I activly trying to reduce my microplastic exposure. I appreciate your work to make this product Brian.
In South Australia nearly everyone uses Puratap and it has 0.45-micron. It is a complete tap and filtration system that fits on any sink, it costs under $100 dollars per year.
Guys, Bryan... did you check the research on this? The partner (PLASTIC TOX, arrow lab solution) providing this test has some serious study flaws - they can't really prove the method works. It's all out there in their "Discovery and quantification of plastic particle pollution in human blood" paper. Anyone can find it online and see that they struggle to properly detect microplastics in blood.
All thermal printed receipts are huge on BPA and other toxins. They are the worst thing to touch and handle. You can also distill your own water as well and remineralize with celtic salt.
2:06 most stainless steel doesnt meet NSF 61. There are guidelines for this. I dont see the dont die water bottle for sale, but if its not nsf 61 ss then youre drinking heavy metals like chromium. Which isnt nesscarily bad if its the right form+dose but they put regs for stainless steel in nsf 61 for a reason. Also glass has lead in it. Unless youre sourcing youre glassware from a reputable source/brand, it has lead in it. A high end name brand plastic like undied tritan or undied polypropylene that you never put in the dishwasher or use for hot liquids and wash super gently and keep out of direct sunlight and still replace every year or two might be the most reasonable choice for most people.
When considering a filtration system, take into account the cost of *very* frequent filter changes, a filtration system with old filters is worse than no filtration system at all since it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria.
The water filtration tubes and the refrigerator in the video are both made out of plastic. If the water is stored and goes through plastic, I don't see why the final container you drink out of makes that much of a difference.
I usually try to avoid plastics in food and all of that, but I had no idea about the receipts having BPA. And I handle them in a daily basis. So in the end it really is about the little things
I think it depends on the type of plastic. Some, like what is found on Teflon pans (and fast food containers and carpet and waterproof clothing and hundreds of other things) are considered "forever chemicals", because your body can't break them down, and they take literally thousands of years to biodegrade. Look up "PFAS", and watch the movie "Dark Waters". Sorry in advance for what you'll find :/

Dr. Johneon, the classes are too short.
you are so amazing, I love your content so much! This is so important to tell people all this, things really need to chainge
FYI most stainless steel bottles have a plastic lining
I suspect that stainless steel adds ions of heavy metals to water and food. Especially to food containing organic acids (vegetables and fruits). Stainless steel is an alloy with chrome, nickel and other heavy metals. Some small amount of those ions always are dissolved with water and organic acids.
Most inert materials are glass or vitreous materials like china. Use them.
There was a study that I think showed that leaching from stainless steel was down to non-detectable amounts after six or seven uses.
Hey Bryan. Just a heads up, most of our homes are made of plastic as well / piping etc. we ought to find a solution for our water / drinking.
Aren't pipes made of copper?
Thanks for sharing, Bryan!
Cheers from Brazil!
Tea bags release microplastics in your tea.
CLIPPER Tea brand is microplastic free.

Doing gods work, literally and I love it! Another useful video
Vitamin tabs are 100% stored in plastic containers though
You think reaching 65 is an achievement? That's pretty young lol
WOW!! 65 years old? How is such a thing possible???
Congratulations 🥳. And more healthy years to come

I hope you also got rid of your artificial grass outside where you do your workout on. Because these things are a huge source of microplastics. Every time you generate traction you're creating microplastics. Also you should get rid of dish sponges etc made of plastic. Every time you wash up you're grating microplastic onto your dishware
The bones and spine produce electricity that feeds both the heart and the brain
Love this! Keep going, I'm cheering it all on
Any evidence that the microplastics are causing harm? Or just evidence that they exist and didnt before? We put all kinds of weird unnatural stuff in our bodies that didnt exist before, on purpose, all the time, in huge quantities and think nothing of it. Is this small amount of plastic decaying and producing dangerous molecules/particles? Does it decay at a rate outpacing human lifespans?
Valid questions! I would like to know answers of these questions as well!
Bruv.....
No, I think they are amazing bro. In fact, I absolutely want to have huge amounts of microplastics in my balls and brain. Great idea.
It's an unnatural thing clogging up in your brain. How likely is it that is not doing harm?
Yes, evidence is mounting and for some microplastics like BPA and phtalates it is practucally proven for other types it most likely causes a lot of harm. Watch Rhonda Patrick's 1 hour video on the topic.
I've read that one of the main sources are cosmetics that have things like glitter in them, and it doesn't get in through the skin but through the eyes.
Siim Land said there’s something bad about cast iron pans. Forgot what he said, but I’d check that out too.
I'd want to try this but I dont know how much this would benefit me right now, at the moment I activly trying to reduce my microplastic exposure. I appreciate your work to make this product Brian.
For work I have a glass bottle with a silicone sleeve. Most people don’t know they line the inside of canned goods, so rinse contents when possible
Nice job homie! Let's celebrate over some Nitazine mixed with a Monster!
All thermal printed receipts are huge on BPA and other toxins. They are the worst thing to touch and handle. You can also distill your own water as well and remineralize with celtic salt.
In the US, yeah.
Thank you, Professor
When considering a filtration system, take into account the cost of *very* frequent filter changes, a filtration system with old filters is worse than no filtration system at all since it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria.
Just started reading You Are Stronger Than You Think from Cryptic Lore. It dives into how testosterone impacts energy and confidence-really insightful
Awesome information! Im glad im more aware of these things that could cause all kinds of problems for my health. Say no to plastic!
Can you make a video about forever chemicals PFAS? I would like to see a video of you talking about what you do about PFAS in the human body.

Surprised he didn't mention all the plastic we inhale. I recommend a good air purifier anywhere there's dust, e.g. rooms with carpets/rugs.
Great video; thank you for creating a test for people to see and learn how to reduce their exposure to microplastics.
I just ordered mine. Would have been a nice treat if there was a coupon code offer... I'll check back in a few weeks with my results.
Couple of questions. What are the downsides of having microplastics and is there a way to get rid of what you already have? Maybe through sweat?
It turns teenage boys gay
all plastics from all the clothes ripping off and becoming dust we breath and swallow was one of the biggest in a study I read.
So the assumption is that they leave your body over time?
I think it depends on the type of plastic. Some, like what is found on Teflon pans (and fast food containers and carpet and waterproof clothing and hundreds of other things) are considered "forever chemicals", because your body can't break them down, and they take literally thousands of years to biodegrade. Look up "PFAS", and watch the movie "Dark Waters". Sorry in advance for what you'll find :/

Fixed that for you. Love what he's doing, but right now to me it looks like where EVs were 15 years ago, something adopted by enthusiasts who are willing to pay a higher upfront cost, which paves the way for better economies of scale and then wider mass-market adoption

Thankyou Bryan great information. Love from Spain ❤
Traditionally in india people have stored drinking/cooking water in copper pots... it's supposed to be beneficial in many ways.
Though the copper pots need to be cleaned regularly to, prevent the oxidized buildups i guess...
Not sure if that's viable to be marketed in the USA - the FDA might have problems with the effects of copper and whatnot
Also in ancient times, royal families used to store water in silver vesses... even serve food on silver plates... the common people used to serve food on bronze plates, and some of them still do, in india...
But modern-style utensils have become more common
Very nice, it was about time to tackle micro plastics with Mr. Bryan Johnson.

@@Lieutenant-Dan Nothing. Johnson didn't explain what makes microplastics concerning. Little is known about microplastics as whole including if they're harmful and to what extent.

@BryanJohnson Related to the plastic bottles: I think I remember a study where the plastic bottles emit less microplastics than the glass ones which are cleaned with plastic brushes that loose more content than the made up plastic bottle itself. Maybe just a thought worth thinking/to try out.
Recent plastic surgery has healed up nicely. You can see the healing process in the last few videos.
