Not all houses but quite a few architecturally built or just old homes in old areas here in Australia are considered heritage listed buildings and cannot be knocked over or changed dramatically.
I also read another difficulty of converting offices into apartments is plumbing. Those buildings are not plumbed out correctly to supply sinks, toilets, showers, and water to all the areas.
All I can think about is fire safety. I doubt those windows open. Hopefully there’s a sprinkler system, but is it for the whole building? The hole cut in the center may help, but I would not want to escape to the center of a burning building.
For the younger folks: the "diy stained glass" is what the 90s kids called "window colour". After some time, it will not come off without a fight. Different temperatures literally burn the colour on the glass surface, it gets hard and is such a struggle to remove. Back in thr day they sold seperate transparent foil sheets to paint on. These were way better to get off the windows ^^
You are not kidding that after a while, window colour becomes nearly impossible to remove. I am pretty sure there is a dolphin drawing still stuck in the far corner of my bedroom window from 2002-2003ish that is still there at my parents place.

Paige, we are designing a nursery and I would love to hear your input on how to decorate one. I’m finding it difficult because all nursery’s seem to look alike right now.
Really think about how things are going to go after baby is born. You'll be too tired to walk into another room all night. Get a sidecar crib for your own bed. By the time baby starts using the room much she will be around 2 years old at the earliest. Decorate for a child not a baby. Maybe get a bed with a removable railing for later in there so it can transition from toddler bed to kid bed easily.
Yes! This is great advice. I would also add that a general guideline would be to put as little as possible in the room and only get things like furniture and even a lot of shelving as they become necessary for your child. I’ve found it a lot easier this way to fill with what’s age appropriate rather than having to remove and redo a bunch of decisions that were only appropriate for 6 months of my kids life.
I know that putting together a nursery is so fun when you’re expecting a baby, but I agree with the advice already given! You absolutely don’t need one and you only really know what works for you once baby is here and you start getting into a routine. Also needs change so much within the first two years. We moved around all of the furniture multiple times and changed our a lot of things during that time. We only bought used or did DIYs, so it wasn’t a big financial issue, but we could have avoided all of the changes by just sticking with a crib next to our own bed and a changing table in the nursery and then adding in what we need along the way. You really don’t need anything else kn the beginning. Maybe storage, but I would advise that big wardrobes are really impractical for tiny clothes. Dressers are the way to go, but those may be impractical later on. All decorative items turned out to be completely useless and later when toys started to accumulate the additional decor made everything look so cluttered. I would only do wall art if I had to do it again.
You didn’t ask me, but as a mother of two I’ll say: decorate the nursery for mom. The baby will be pretty equally interested in whatever is around her/him. So plan a room that you love being in. It needs to be first and foremost functional (comfortable chair to feed with surfaces for items on both sides, room darkening curtains, changing table with storage for diapering stuff, diaper pail, crib, a monitor in the right position or optimal baby watching). And it can be whatever style you like. By the time she has an opinion it will be unicorns all the way down and it will no longer be a question of decor, but of her personalizing her own space within reason.
Regarding the bin, that one has a foot pedal for hygiene and also potentially has a compactor at the top to shove down waste so that it doesn't have to be serviced as often. This also prevents rubbish blowing onto the street as it tends not to be overstuffed as easily. i was OBSESSED with the pb teen catalog in the 2000’s!! my mom never let me get anything from them because they were expensive but i got all the dupes from target
I grew up with linoleum floors in the kitchen laid out in sheets: completely seamless. People hate ‘em but nothing is easier to keep clean. I think those peel-and-stick tiles are the worst. I can only imagine the amount of gunk that’s going to accumulate in the crevices. My solution: PAINT.
@@aussiegirl62113: And Marco Zamora *is* renting. A homeowner with a new or intact linoleum floor could do the same thing if they are trying to save money or is disinclined for some other reason to tear out their flooring.
Next April 1st you could reveal that you bought a big important piece of furniture that’s basically the epitome of everything you hate in interior design and pretend you love it 😂
Couldn't those people have the house moved? That's criminal. If you put down those removable tiles, how do you clean the floor. I imagine all kinds of grunge gathering along the edges of each tile.
That last video looks a lot like me trying to convince my husband that the expensive piece of furniture we “just had to have” (that I realized was a bad purchase) was still worth the money
My main takeaway from this, as a person who's not on TikTok, is that while I'm really annoyed when people insist on sharing TikToks on Facebook or whatever other platform (RUclips doesn't count, I love a reaction video), I'm actually shocked that there are a bunch of people on TikTok talking about Facebook groups! So odd.
10:13 i despise with a passion when people destroy or "revamp" antique or retro homes, furniture, clothes. Just stop messing with it because some people out there love it and treasure it. If its not your cup of tea then don't buy it with the idea you'll renovate it to look like a modern box.
I think a lot of people who don’t necessarily have a creative eye tend to stick to monochromatic looks because its easy to shop for. I think of the beige trend, everything gray and white, etc. Friends of mine say they have a hard time or get anxiety whether something matches or goes together. Or they can’t visualize it. So they just make everything two colors. 😂❤
the HOLD PBTeen had on my school -- one of our teachers ordered a bunch of the catalogues and gave us a budget to design our dream rooms from there, such a fun assignment. Looking back at all the designs now is so silly; thank goodness styles evolve!
We would get the magazines and I'd drool so hard at them, knowing we couldn't afford anything in it! I had a lovely room, but were in Ikea and vintage territory (where I still am!), not all new stuff from PBTeen.
I feel like you’re supportive of the renter friendly diys because they’re good for the interior design industry/interior design influencers; allowing people to get involved with their interiors on a budget but in actuality you really think sticking vinyl tiles on top of real tiles is fucking heinous because it is. It’s just so unrealistic that someone with authentic taste would tell anyone that peel and stick anything is acceptable 😂
Lone Fox designed Marco Zamora’s entire living room, for likes and views, I’m sure, and Marco immediately changed everything. 😂 I hope these RUclipsrs, who redecorate every five minutes, sell or give their throwaway items to people who really need or want them.

The sliding rack on the ceiling for curtains is very old school IKEA. Green was popular in the 80's and 90's too.... English Racing Green was on every wall. With wild wallpaper like Kevin Mccallister's house. It's aaall back.
The decorated homes (or church I guess) of the 1% make me feel really hollow and irritated-bored, kind of like watching someone play a game with cheat codes but they won't acknowledge it. I get why you included that and you point it out but man their lives are flatworld. When you get to that point, it's all just the same anyways. edit: not the 00s cozy rich people decor. That style was attainable af and looked good in bungalows
TV above the fireplace: this trend really sends me to the moon. I am well aware I’m in a tiny majority, but the mantel to me is a place in the home that represents all you hold dear, worship or value. (In my home, it’s an abstract nature painting.) A shudder ran thru me when ppl first started doing this.
Can you please do a video about fireplace decor? I do NOT believe in putting a tv above a fireplace or even in the living room tbh. I am renovating a beautiful 1920s home and there is a cool brick fireplace but I just don't know what to do with it

I can’t imagine tearing down such a beautiful house, especially one that seems so well built. What a waste of a beautiful design and all those materials that went into it.

I want to know more about that house that was demolished. Something tells me there were significant structural problems or something. That famous Frank Lloyd wright house has massive problems.
I can’t find anything online about why it was demolished, but I just have a feeling there are significant mold and structural issues with that cantilever over that water. Architects aren’t structural and environmental engineers, and sometimes the prettiest buildings just can’t compete with Mother Nature.

I don’t associate Matisse with squiggly lines or pastel colors. And this horrendous design aesthetic is, in my eyes, quite far removed from his work and what it says. I get that in the past five years or more Matisse-esque knock-off “art” and design elements have been all the rage, but they are such a bastardization of the essence of his work as to be a whole other commercialized animal of another genus entirely.

You should should definitely review Rajiv Surendras home! He’s an amazing human. Most people remember him as Kevin G from mean girls. Review Suzy Batiz home (founder of Poo Pouri) She also did a church conversion! It’s pretty awesome to see how she was able to get it cozy being the large church that it is.
Rajiv is very inspiring! talented guy.
I’m not on TikTok so it’s cool to watch these vids with you! Also I have a video suggestion - a souvenir guide! Currently overseas and trying to find things that are cool and not tacky (I still buy tacky lol). And things that fit in a suitcase. Like a souvenir gift guide/roast of the funny ones.
That last video is me trying to sleep on an airplane.
That last lady was great. Watching her twist around to get comfy in that chair some how made me feel better about aging. Because I realized she and I aren’t that different. 🤷♀️ she was funny too! Loved it! Trying to wipe my brain free of that demolished house.
I love all your videos and I found this one especially entertaining and informative -- so much packed into one! I've managed to staty away from tik-tok, and I think I'll keep it that way because I can only imagine how much time I would spend going down so many rabbit holes ...thanks for picking out these gems!
i was OBSESSED with the pb teen catalog in the 2000’s!! my mom never let me get anything from them because they were expensive but i got all the dupes from target
So true, good for renters I guess
@@aussiegirl62113: And Marco Zamora *is* renting. A homeowner with a new or intact linoleum floor could do the same thing if they are trying to save money or is disinclined for some other reason to tear out their flooring.
My Granny’s farmhouse linoleum floors were like 40 years old and spotless, I’m already wishing I had put linoleum instead of tile in our house!
Those silver earrings go really well with your eyes.👍
They really make her eyes pop!
@@meh5069 See I was actually going to say exactly that, and then paused and thought about popping eyes and could go no further. But yes. They do!
Precisely!! 💯
Oh my gosh the PB Teen throwback unlocked something in me! 🤣 I totally poured over those catalogs!!
That last TikTok 😂🤣 I’m dead. 💀 She is amazing.
Love the ‘my chair’ one 😂😍😍
I am going to be haunted by the ghost of that beautiful lake house.
That last video looks a lot like me trying to convince my husband that the expensive piece of furniture we “just had to have” (that I realized was a bad purchase) was still worth the money
girl, I feel this
omg the 'rich friend circa 2005 tuscan kitchen chicago burbs' is killing meeeeeee. north shore baby
That last Tik Tok with grandma in her chair was the most pure and beautiful thing the internet has ever seen.
the chair video with the lady in her pjs made my day!
So odd.
The lady with her chair at the end is hilarious! Good job ending with that one!
Hey Paige, bit random but I really like your rings! Where did you get them from? Love your video’s 🫶
that last one was hilarious! the demolished house was just sad!
The use of squiggly wiggly in such a soft scholarly voice was incredible. Im not seeing Matisse in it, personally, but it’s interesting nonetheless
That last video ……. Perfection.
Thank you, Interwebs.
If I had a place to put my tv in another place besides above the fireplace I would
I can't express how much I loved that last video. PERFECT video to end with :) hehe
the HOLD PBTeen had on my school -- one of our teachers ordered a bunch of the catalogues and gave us a budget to design our dream rooms from there, such a fun assignment.
The lady with her chair is so amusing! I do not have tik tok and I will not get it. Too additictive indeed.
The last tik tok made my day! ❤
This is the only way I enjoy watching TikTok on other peoples channels. Thanks for weeding through for us!!! 😅
Lone Fox designed Marco Zamora’s entire living room, for likes and views, I’m sure, and Marco immediately changed everything. 😂 I hope these RUclipsrs, who redecorate every five minutes, sell or give their throwaway items to people who really need or want them.
i love the rich people sopranos styling ahhhhhh i remember that era
That last tiktok!!!!! Bless!
The last video took me out
funny story-- i recently deleted tik tok because i was at verve with a friend and she was telling me about that creator marco who added the stained glass doorway. when we walked into verve, he was there. we chatted with him, and my friend was like "i'll send you his tiktok" and i was like "well i stood next to him, i'm sure the algorithm with populate his content soon" i got home 30 min later and the first two videos on tik tok where the ones that he had showed us, but i hadnt had my phone out and my friend hadnt sent me his content. he never even said his name outloud. i was so creeped out and deleted it immediately.
I love/hate this story
big fan of both chair-related tiktoks. A+ finds.
The chair lady, lol. That’s me in 15-20 years. 😂
Went to high school with the person reacting at 12:45 and they’ve always had amazing taste.
My bedroom was literally lime green and hot pink. & I had the pink pom pom PB Teen bedspread! I was obsessed! Would even bring it to camp to decorate my bunk bed. It was so obnoxious!
The sliding rack on the ceiling for curtains is very old school IKEA. Green was popular in the 80's and 90's too.... English Racing Green was on every wall. With wild wallpaper like Kevin Mccallister's house. It's aaall back.
Okay that last video needed a shout out. That was hilarious.
The “YASification of Matisse” so real so funny.
I say "Develop and figure out your own interior design style vs. being a sheep to Home Goods, et. al." I hate the idea of decorating in trends! 🤔
Grandma at the end is very flexible
Can you please do a video about fireplace decor? I do NOT believe in putting a tv above a fireplace or even in the living room tbh. I am renovating a beautiful 1920s home and there is a cool brick fireplace but I just don't know what to do with it
Nature is green.
It CAN NOT go out of style.
😁
I agree on those trash bins. The old ones were way nicer.
And of course I highly agree on the amazing architectual house over the water!
Unbelievable..
I miss where you would react to AD house tours and others. I feel like those were the videos I learned from the most.
Omg! That lady at the end!! The perfect reading and resting chair. 🤣🤣🤣. She’s going fishing.
Can you provide more info on the man who designed a house and it was torn down? You didn't provide his channel name or information on him. Super curious about this. Very sad. That house was amazing!
I can’t imagine tearing down such a beautiful house, especially one that seems so well built. What a waste of a beautiful design and all those materials that went into it.
The last video is the most wholesome thing I have ever seen.
That lady and her chayer! I am officially deceased from all the belly laughing.😂😂😂😂
Paige you look really beautiful today. Lovely light in there.
amazing last video, what an adorable funny lady 😆
I agree that that IS the most comfortable position in that chair. I sit in my cousins like that too 😂
There’s a Canadian designer who made over her parents’ house with the Danish pastel, it’s terrible lol
Alexandra Gater?
@@wallywaffles1333 Yes 😂
@@3bimini3 Figures. Everything Alexandra Gater ever does is blush pink and pale green and white. The girl doesn't know other colors exist.
@@jessakent2049 I feel like that is the sign of a bad designer. looks like she designs everything like it was your own house and stays within one "look". Her style is not for me, personally, but I can see it being useful content when you're in your late teens early twenties, just moving out and like DIY things.....
Am I the only one who has to turn the sound up so high during the segment and then getting blasted when the commercials come on? 🥺
I'm dying at the fact that I've already seen almost all of these 😂great video!!
I can relate to the passion this woman has for a new cher.
@@criticaloptimist I was also thinking this.
paige honey not the face smoothing filter 🥴
wait this is such a compliment because I have no filter on lol does that even exist for videos?
@@wasselpa I also thought the same, in your last videos, maybe from one or two months, your face appears with a smoothing filter. Maybe you have it "on" and you didn't realize?
@@wasselpa It's the garage light, I swear! It really smoothens out your features, makes your skin glow and your eyes brighter. In videos shot elsewhere there are more shadows to your face. At least that's my perception. And yes, those filters do exist:)
