Another important sharing! You can count on my full support to your great channel/Ned👍👏👍
There will always be those who prey upon the weak, elderly, vulnerable, naïve, disabled, feebleminded, etc.
Luckily, there are people (like this fella) who try to inform, stop, etc such from happening.
Thailand, too. Hospital in Pattaya accepts VAFMP and Tricare. VA FMP recently opened up a physical therapy clinic in Pratumnak, a hillside district of South Pattaya.
Older folks are fodder for scams. These people need to be careful.
Good Information Steve, I'll share this with you and your viewers. I am a disabled Veterans but I was going to put in another claim a couple of years ago while here and I couldn't find a list of VSO's for the Philippines. I ended up using someone from Panama who didn't help me at all. They wanted me to use their Doctor in Panama. If anyone has a list of accredited VSO's in the Philippines that would be great info.
It's really sad to see Vets scamming their fellow Vets. It's also prevalent here in the the US. In my experience, documentations, right doctors who can write nexus letters, and right language on your buddy letters, helped me to get where I am now. I was one of the lucky ones who made 0 to 100 % in 2.5 years, however I was on top of it the whole time. By the way, I got most of my increase to secondary claims.
Steve, I am Mike, a retired Navy chaplain. I live in Taguig. I do FREE life coaching for any veteran. I hope I have the chance to meet you in person.
Hey Guys, Time again for the Expat Get Together at "Texas Roadhouse" at EVIA Mall near Alabang/ Bacoor, meeting at 1:30 on June 27, 2024. We need an accurate count for Texas Roadhouse so please message or text me back to let me know if you are coming. We also need to know who will be going in the van from my house, at 12 pm we will leave. The Van count needs to be exact so no cancellations please on Van confirmations !!! The van is limited and first come first served on the van so please book your seat. Cancellations on the van should pay for thier spot if cancelled because it causes others to pay more and leaves seats unused. Thanks, Steve 🙏🏻👍💪
I live in Davao, I'm retired navy, I live alone here for many years now, and I would surely, appreciate, having opportunity to talk with you. Respectfully Roy Jones
@MikeMay I live in Gulignhan in Negros Oriental nice to meet you
Looking forward to meeting you June 27, my wife and me are planning on driving from SBMA.
Thats dope and thank you for your service
Scammers are pure scum. The world is tough enough, but these "people" only hurt us. Know who they are and protect yourself. It's good to know about the VA in the Philippines. I did my research about them and what they can do. Great job Steve!
At home recuperating for 6 weeks due to a hernia repair performed at the Houston VAMC. Yes, there are scammers here in the states too. VSOs are worthless here. In Texas, go with Texas Veterans Commission for filing claims help. They only help you file claim. They dont get you doctors or falsify anything. VA covers me for everything included not service connected issues here. Grand total bill for hernis fix will cost me nothing.
Unfortunately we don’t get that here
@MrSteven5975 Steve. Excellent care at the VA. Surgeons, nurses, room for the night, all professional and superb. Houston VAMC. If I had used private medical, probably out of pocket like 3-4k
YOU ARE ALWAYS TALKING REAL MATTERS, THE BEST AND VERY INFORMATIVE THINGS SHIPMATE!!!
Listen to Steve folks. Scammers prey upon desperation and greed. They try to sell a line of crap that they know "loopholes," or little known secrets, etc. Bottom line, the official process may be slow, frustrating, and confusing. If you worked for my favorite uncle, you have been there and done that.
I'm glad to see you make this video for those who can be persuaded somewhat easily .. but I'm not surprised by these scammers. How many times do you hear of people stealing money from charities / old people / mothers .. they have no morals or conscience and could give a rats ass about it. Thanks again.
Many scam consulting places in the states also. My Dad does health care atleast stateside with the VA and he doesn’t have a service connected disability, but without working he still qualified. I have 2 C&P exams this week and another in w couple weeks. I’m still active guard so still have a few years to document if it doesn’t go well.
There's always someone willing to relieve you of your money - doesn't matter what country you live , Good video stevie boy
Thanks for your videos, keep up the good work.Go Army.
The reason these organizations exist is that VSOs only process paperwork they don't help you understand and don't review CFRs for your claim, they don't look at any secondary issues, they won't ask you what issues you have, they, just, file, paperwork and Atournines want money upfront. That being said I agree RUclips and doing it yourself is the best option.
Steve, thanks for the information.
Great info here. I enjoy your videos, always great advice and reminders on PI. Guys always smile and be friendly and offer nice compliments to people. You will get the best treatment from everyone.
I am now 100% P&T TDUI, but never could get a C&P exam because the raters were playing amateur doctor and denying. The most important part of the process is to get the original denial reviewed. Ask for a phone call. 5 minutes explaining my problem got me C&P exams. I have Myasthenia Gravis, 1 out of 20,000 people get it. It is on the original chronic disease list, next to muscular dystrophy. Also get a copy of the C&P exam. My examiners would not check the "more likely" box because of the way the question was written, but in the rationale stated I had developed it while on active duty. I had 2 such rationales. I finally got it when I pointed this out in a supplemental claim. The claims system has a lot of holes.
I had myasthenia gravis; been in remission for years now.
Awesome video Steve. I think I was in touch with that scammer up there in Angela city because he wanted to charge me six months of the disability pay for him to do my paperwork. Good thing I’m a cheapskate. I didn’t let him do anything for me. I’m working with the VBA here in Vegas and the DAV is pretty much in the same office. Free
@ron......What was his name
Such a Shame! Thank you for this warning! 🙏
Good video..I don't understand how they could have his money signed over to them. The VA wouldn't go for that.
One of the reasons I am not overseas now is because I am waiting for my VA rating to increase through the VA. It is best, in my opinion, to take care of that sort of thing BEFORE making the move overseas. Why someone would even think to do that overseas is beyond me!!! There re also scammers here in the U.S. too. I am going through a VSO here that is legitimate. I wouldn't do it myself but with the assistance with the VSO. I have been getting my tests through the VA or doctors they direct me to and I wasn't charged all. It's sad that guys have to go through that over there but I feel it would have been best for them to take care of business prior to leaving here. I want to leave here BADLY but I have to have things like that in order prior to leaving.
Hey Steve, maybe you should do a live YT and just discuss about filing for VA claims. I'm not an expert but I would love to share my journey with filing. I only met VSO 2 times initially and the rest were all my own.
Most Saturday nights at 9:30pm Manila time we do a live.
I am going through the VFW i also heard you can use the American legion.
The American legion helped me from becoming homeless.
Sorry about that happening, but if you truly want to be helpful. NAME THEM AND SHAME THEM
Agreed
@royfleury9860 Your going to think this is weird but even if they are doing something wrong and Steve calls them out by name, they can still sue him for defamation. He is just being smart and protecting himself.
@@jsully4064 I thought the same thing
Wow kind of weird eh!
He might be talking about " VHV" or Veterans Helping Veterans, across the street from the VFW, here in Angeles City! I started with them and decided to use another service after a person could not get the job done and lied on my application!! Real talk&Nuff Said!! Just putting in my 2 cents. Much love and happy through ( out) year to all, especially to my fellow VETS and those still serving in theatres worldwide and in space currently!! Never understood why some expats couldn’t be nice to each other. Guess you can take the expat out of the U.S. but not the U.S. out of the expat. 😮 y’all be nice out there on the frontier.
Thanks Shipmate for the heads up
Any time!
Never ever trust anyone outside yourself or a VSO to handle anything related to your VA claim. As far as my experience with a certain VSO, you sometimes can't even trust them. My VSO in Maine failed to file my divorce paperwork with the VA and 8 years later I found out they had been paying me for my ex and my former step daughter which when they send you your benefit letter each year they only say your total payment and your rating not who you're getting paid for, so I had no idea. I am am considered 100% P&T.
Runs, also a 100%er here. The way the rules/penalties are you will need to pay back that. You are responsible even though your ex and step daughter got the funds and will probably tell you to pound sand. So the VSO got you your 100% and when you gave them your divorce papers there was somehow a screw up? The VA claims process is online (you have to set up an account) and there is even an app which you can check your status of your VA payment. The VA also sends out a yearly benefit letter that should have listed your Ex and step daughter as dependents. I would call the VA and get your options, maybe a payment plan if you do not have the $10,000 you need to pay back.
@@AceBachelorTom It's all taken care of now but no my VSO didn't submit my paperwork to the VA like is required. He also did not get my 100% I went through the very first Chiropractor the VA ever commissioned to submitted requests for higher percentage rates and to provide care for the VA. I got luck she knew what she was doing. I know that isn't the case for many Vets.
@@AceBachelorTom The yearly letter only tells you what your getting paid not who you are getting paid for. I have been 100% since 2002.
Friends of mine who are in the States tell me that these scams are rampant in the States as well.
Yes they are
Greetings from the jersey shore. You are absolutely right I am 100 percent dav. You would make a good service officer. The american legion can sponsor you the training is free of charge you would be a natural you like to help people. Also you should ever use a lawyer they get a big cut too
The problem is I’m to busy helping Vets get their Visas here.
So many who served honorably trying to scam for disability. That program is for people who earned it. Don't be afraid to see if you deserve compensation but don't throw your integrity out for a couple of bucks. Integrity first!
The majority are legit and have hidden disabilities
Some prominent YT vloggers are poster children for what you describe. Disgusting.
Well if you really are trying to help not saying who they are is absolutely not helping 🤷🏻
If you gotta pay don’t use them. I’m not going to throw a name out. People are sue happy.
That’s risky if Filipino nationals are involved. Best not to publicly name names. This video was well done, given the situation. You’re not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy.😂
@@markreynolds5363 we are not in Kansas anymore "Todo"
🤦♂️
@@patd4u2 that’s what *she* said!
@@markreynolds5363 gotcha, I used to love that movie when I was a kid, came on once a year on TV and you had to be home to make sure you watched it, not like nowadays with video tapes and DVDs when you can watch it whenever you want, not the same.
They have VA there? You can get service there. I am at 90% so I could use the service there. I mean like what kind of service do you get?
Only Service Connections get treated
Folks need to be aware that if they file false claims and down the road, it is caught, and then you will be required to pay that money back plus penalties. It could be considered a criminal act even though a doctor confirmed it through misdiagnoses. It could mean that your benefits are postponed or even canceled until the matter is rectified, and that could get you broke in a short period of time.
Many of these places file claims for false disabilities. Unfortunately
Having your disability status is a scam in itself.
My co-worker had hers changed to full then she tried out for and made a semi-pro football team.
That’s that particular person and not everyone……
There are mental health disorders too
My local DAV recently got me 100% P&T. It didn't cost me a dime.
Where is the local DAV Rep here in Philippines
Jeez, is someone reporting these bums? That’s shameful!
Problem nowadays with the technology that we have especially if you’re in other countries like Philippines where you can print whatever medical documents you want that’s why some veterans are taking advantage of it. Why do you go to other countries to apply disabilities if you deserved it. That’s a red flag to everyone.
If you live here you gotta apply here. And there is a VA to apply. Nothing wrong with applying here.
He spits or speaketh the truth 💯 % on all of these topics. Much appreciated!!
VSO or DAV are good free organizations to help. If a VSO isn’t your fit find a new one and don’t pay anyone to file on your behalf. It’s best to know and locate your ailments to make sure it’s being looked at properly. If something is at zero work on those if they get worse and if no crap you have a service connected ailment and a nexus letter is warranted to connect it find a reputable person to write that but know how it should read and how it connects. Don’t just pay for hopes and dreams gets what’s deserved but do know about your own ailments and how to see if it’s getting worse and look up the percentages based off mild to worse so that you can explain yourself in an exam as well.
I’m using the DAV and they are doing me right. I appreciate them for sure.
Good to know. Enjoyed the information and for the heads up.
I wonder???? There was talk about a guy from the Philippines coming to Okinawa to help them with their claims. He never showed up and many are asking why. It was all by word of mouth. Is it possible this guy is attached to the same firm as you mentioned is what I am asking myself.
Might be the guy. Not sure
The assistance center has made two outreach trips to Pattaya, Thailand since February. Lot of veterans living in Pattaya.
"If you want something done right, do it yourself."
You are a good man Steve.
Much appreciated
Thanks for warning Veterans about the potential scammers in the Philippines. Thank you for your US service in the military also. Happy Fathers day everyone. Good video, Steve...Jim
Thanks
Please start naming names…. People need to be exposed!!!!
I do have a question, are there any US Board Certified Psychiatrist in the Philippines? I can’t find one in the Cebu area. Some claim to be but they are not.
Not sure
DeLasalle University Hospital would have one
@@MrSteven5975 Thanks a bunch … this is helpful 🙏🏽
On a recent trip I was walking* near vfw 2485 in angles city, phillipines saw two new painted building locations veterans helping veterans I am skeptical😊
Don’t use those places. Do it yourself or use a VSO.
I used their services and got my rating increased from 70-100%. All legit. Had a series of exams and evaluations and my CP exams there at Medical City Clark. I highly recommend their service. They are legit and assist veterans living in several countries. The assistance center had about 70% success rate.
Nice ❤

It's ad enough to be scammed, but to be scammed by one of your own ina Foreign country..
Those awnry S.O.B’s….😂
Use a VSO or just do it online yourself. I did my initial claim thru my county veterans service office, after learning what they did, I did everything on my own online. What is important to know what qualifies and at what disability rate and go get documented medical evidence. If you are spending all your time and money on a 10% rating it may not be worth it, for example if you are 90% disabled, a 10% rating will only give you 91% and no increase in pay. If you can't work, try to get TDIU from the VA. Your VA medical records may contain enough evidence for TDIU but the VA doctors won't submit the claim for you, so do it yourself online.
I was given 80% and immediately applied for an ungrade in rating. I got 90% with 100% P&T for TDIU.
Hello again from 🇨🇭
How you doing my friend
Doing ok
How can I reach you?
Steven5975@yahoo.com
Oh you have VSO in the Philippines
Yes
Doesn't really help if you don't give the na.e of the place or person that is scamming veterans.
If they ask for 6 months of your checks amongst other things they are a scammer.
What’s your rating?
I don’t post my rating because it’s just not a good idea here in the Philippines
Yup, lots of jealousy when it comes to rating. Even family and friends have those jealousy issues. 😂
If you are retired military you can also use one of the RAO (Retired Activity Offices) located here. I use the one here in Barrio Barretto and there is also I in Angeles City. You can also join and get access to a FPO/AP mailing address and box.
Intent to file, Diagnosis, nexus, dbq.
Yup. If you have diagnosed in service record, check! 13:05 Then need current diagnosis, check! Get Nexus, DBQ.. check!
This issue is not specific to the Filipines, these sharks are prominent and I’m sure most are based in the US. There are any number of them.
Always use like DAV , and if it sounds too good to be true, then IT IS
What happened to my comment?
RUclips, we haven’t removed any comments today
I get this often. RUclips removes comments when we have the setting on to do it automatically.
But sometimes AI doesn’t understand certain aspects of our language and removes it
@@MrSteven5975 OK, thank you Steven, it wasn't troll or anything, just some information on the VA and how to apply for a disability compensation
Common sense
I am an Air Force Veteran, and you should NEVER pay to have someone help you with your disability paperwork. You should ALWAYS contact a VA Representative, and they will help you free of charge. Before you retire overseas, you should always get that squared away in the States.
Ha! Some of these VSO are clueless or don’t care. Learn to file yourself.
I was not aware of these benefits until I came here to the Philippines. 🇵🇭 🎉❤😮😊
American Legion, VFW, and DVA in Angeles City will help you file claims for free
D.A.V. in the states of which I’m a lifetime member discouraged me at the last minute in submitting my claim. Afterwards, I realized that I’m much older now and should be increased. If you are speaking of the organization I think, they have a Letter of Appreciation from the PRA. Yes, I hate paying, however, I would be stuck at TDIU without them.
Who are you to tell people who they can use to help them get what they deserve ?
My friends and I used that company you're talking shit about and they were fantastic and worth every dollar for the fees.
