I've been catching up on the show, but so far, this was my favourite era of classic Who. Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker were both amazing in the role, and I'm looking forward to watching the rest of their episodes.
Love the chemistry between 3rd and Jo, especially as they get off to an awkward start. Which is why I still personally find Jo's departure the most emotional.
The 70's was Doctor Who firing on all of its cylinders with the occasional stumble. Stories like Spearhead From Space, Inferno, The Daemons, Genesis Of The Daleks, Pyramids Of Mars, Seeds Of Doom and so many others really put this show on the map and were some of the most memorable in the shows history! And Pertwee and Baker were the quintessential and best actors to ever appear in the show to date. The fact that Mr. Baker is now sitting on 90 years of age and still going shows what an amazing man he is and how he was born to play the role of Doctor number 4! That is worth major celebrating in itself!
And To Think That Tom Baker is 90 Years Old and Still Going 😊❤❤ . The Oldest Person Alive that Has Ever Played The Doctor. Let All of Us Celebrate Him.
12:56 - At the end of Planet of the Spiders, we see three long running members of the TARDIS crew - the Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, and the hat stand. The hat stand hasn't yet been stolen from UNIT by the Doctor, but it would serve as a gravitational stability sensor in the TARDIS console rooms for years, until being gifted by Doctor 5 to the people of Frontios.
I forgot how wonderful it was to see the three Doctors together again, it was a wonderful experience in its form on this compilation of episodes!!! Gary Bailey 🌩️⚡🍀💚🦉🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🇦🇮🧳
There was simply nothing… NOTHING! better than 1970s Doctor Who!!! My two favourite Doctors; Three and Four. Add in the Brigadier, Liz, Jo, Benton, Yates, Sarah Jane, Harry, Leela, K9, and the pair of Romanas and you have a decade that's the true Golden Age of Doctor Who! (Golden Age… now where have we heard that that phrase before?!?)
I just second everyone's wonderful sentiment, what a wonderful New Year's gift to all, and to all a good night!!! My two absolute favorite classic doctors, by the way congratulations 🎉 Tom Baker!!! Gary Bailey 🍀💚🦉🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🇦🇮🧳🌩️⚡
My mother is convinced that Tom Baker is wearing a cheap wig he bought in a 2nd hand shop. For years Ive tried to convince her otherwise. "No, Mom. That's his real hair. It's the 70s and he's British. They all looked like that back then"
@Lethgar_Smith funny as Sylvester McCoy HAS to wear a cheap wig to pretend that he was Colin Baker in "Time and Rani" (in the opening regeneration scene). ;)
Sometimes The Doctor regrets working for The Time Lords. The Doctor almost refused working for The White Guardian. I think The Doctor wants to do things on his own terms.
Doctor Who's golden age expired a very long time ago and I think we know it. We are still watching essentially a tribute show. Whether we are in the domestic market of the UK or abroad. And at it's best it is still relevant to its roots.
I see Nyssa as having a one sided crush on five. It's particularly evident in Snakedance, when Nyssa wears a very different style of outfit and tries to get the Doctor to notice her. There's also a fun scene later on where the Doctor helps Nyssa down a small step by holding her by her waist and she has a particular reaction to it. But yeah, I also found 10 and Sarah Jane adorable together. (But not really 4 and Sarah Jane. At the start of Pyramids of Mars, Sarah Jane enters the console room in a way similar to Nyssa, wearing a cute outfit to show off to the Doctor. That scene had a very different vibe, like they were just close friends. The Doctor does notice, but he says it was something Victoria used to wear. Sarah Jane doesn't react to that in any way you might expect if she cared about the Doctor's attention in any romantic way. She's just joking around. Sarah Jane came to show the Doctor her cute outfit. Nyssa was trying to show the Doctor herself.)
I ''d love to see BBC sell the rights to DR WHO to another service provider like NETFLIX or Comcast or Paramount ... etc I feel with the right support DR WHO could go onto the next level branching out to a fantastic theatrical film and spin offs and perhaps a DR WHO theme set in Universal Studios in Florida. The DR WHO franchise have obviously seen BBC develop new seasons including spin offs and movies however it's never had the money or the right support to gain that next big leap into the future and that's something I'd really enjoy seeing some day. When I think of a DR WHO movie I think of Mission Impossible meets Star Trek meets Inception meets The Matrix.
Can't think of a better way to spend the penultimate evening of 2024 than watching Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker give a Doctor Who masterclass.
Tom Baker MBE*
That’s a very sad thing to say. Hopefully you’ll lose your virginity in 2025.
@@SG20three Tom Baker will always be one of the greatest regenerations no one could ever come close to his performance.

@Megadoomer3 they were like Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant/Matt Smith of the 70s.

The definite article you might say.
Love how creating the Daleks bit Davros so hard.
its amazing how he recovered to the point he can walk again!

There was never any reboot.

And the Beatles said they liked jelly babies and the fans threw them at concerts
Well, here we go again!

That makes me happy to know he's still alive.
Love how it opens on one of my favourite 4th Doctor lines😄
Tom Baker is my most entertaining Doctor and Pertwee projects how a TimeLord should be.
I agreed
"3 months delicate work and now look at it, you ham-fisted bun vendor!"
“Duggan! What are you doing for heaven's sake?! That's a Louis Quinze!”
Marvellous.

@@merlin-ju6fu yup, Doctor wasn't happy with working for Time Lords again.
He might be referencing "Three Doctors" and Omega - then again Time Lords repaid him with grantig him dematerialization cog / circuit.
Him and his bloody jelly babies!!!!!
Now this is peak doctor who
The real Doctors and story lines far better than the rubbish one we have at the moment.
They’re all real. None of them are rubbish.
@@DrWhoFanJ Dr Who has been rubbish the past 7 years or so
@ It really hasn’t.
Just seen this so no idea which storey or episode
Too many episodes I haven't seen. Too many episodes I would like to see again!

The 4th Doctor is the best. 3rd is right behind him. Sarah and Jo are the best companions no one can change my mind.

The film version could have paired Peter Cushing With Christopher Lee....who would have been excellent as The Master.
The best O GS of the franchise...... Till David Tenent took over the role
