Do your hair nightly by adding a lil bit of water then moisturizer and then finger detangle and put your hair in twists and pin twists around your head wear a satin bonnet or scraf. This way your hair gets trained to stay moisturized and detangled.
Ps. Your hair is tailbone or longer if you get it flat ironed and that doesn't mean silk press. I'm a newbie who has been natural my entire life but I was a straight natural from age 16. In 2k9 I transitioned to no heat. Look up lindsey Chris her hair iss tailbone natural but so thick. She does all these beautiful styles and she teaches you how to keep hair detangled from wash day til end of month

Congrats on reaching waist-length hair!💜 I'm in the tailbone-length hair crew, and to be honest, if you want to keep the length you may not want to do a lot with it. At any rate, there are a few channels that I watch and maybe they can be helpful if you are not already familiar with them. 1. Mrs. Charity Umar Natural Hair Care 2. Indigenous Strandz 3. Obaa Yaa Jones 4. If She So Pleases 5. Janet Davies 6. Cocoa in 京都 7. GreenBeauty 8. 22nd Century Natural Woman 9. KinkyStyles1980. There's a combo of 4b/4c and waist to thigh-length ladies on the list.

Thank you and that's awesome that you're tailbone length!! Okay, note taken, I'll do my best to not do too much to my hair in order to keep the length. I'm just trying to find hairstyles that I can do that look flattering on my hair that I don't have to do too much to. I'll definitely check out these RUclipsrs as well to try and establish a new routine that works better for me with the new length. Thank you so much, you are a hair life saver!!

I feel your excitement. I’ve been natural for 9 years and I’ll be waist length in a year or less and I probably won’t know how to act 🤣. I would’ve been there years ago but I’ve had so many set backs due to other people and mistakes I made during the first 5 years of being natural. Now I use mostly diy Ayurvedic products and don’t trust anyone with my hair. It’s still recovering from a stylist butchering it 3 years ago and thinning it out but it is longer and thicker now.

I love finding fellow small youtubers with similar content to mine ^_^ I love that you actually did an entire 12 months. I've been doing between 6-9 months and that felt like forever! I loc my hair though, so it's interesting to see someone keeping braids in for 12 months. I didn't even know that was possible without the hair turning to locs. I feel the shock too, I still haven't gotten used to the new length, it's definitely noticeable that it's longer by the time it takes to care for it.

Girl since I got to waist length , in fact since I'm natural , I'm the same way: I don't know what to do with my hair. I'm style challenged and a simple bun would take so much energy and time, cus my hair is thick coarse and kinky . One of the tricks is to definitely start on stretched hair. Braids or twists to stretch. There is a trick to put thick kinky hair into a bun by using two buns. Lmao at your hair pushing the bobby pins....so so true. It boils down to me being boring with my hair. its long and thick and braids get boring after a while. some days its a kinky natural looking wig I wear over some large plaits . I used to do mini plaits which helped grow my hair. I kept them in for 3-4 months at a time, washed and dc them as is. Now finding you btw, new subbie!!
