My half brother found his other half sister! We all did AncestryDNA test. Sometimes they’re on sale for $70. We are very happy to be reunited. We didn’t even know about her!! It’s amazing to have another sister.
Awesome! I myself am adopted , about 14 years ago, I took the 23&me DNA test, well.. it works!! Unfortunately, my biological parents are passed on, but I have 2 loving parents whom I think the world of. And now, I have 8 brothers and sisters!
My daughter was also 15 years old when she gave birth to my most precious granddaughter. I thank God everyday that she never thought of aborting her nor place her in adoption. Instead, I helped her raise her and they couldn't be closer if they tried. Did they face challenges? Yes, of course! Did my daughter ever stop to think if it was best to place her child in adoption? Yes! But like everything in life worth fighting for, she's grateful and thankful that she toughed it out and they lived life together....the good, the bad and the ugly.
Blessings. Because being adopted strips identity and hurts so many. Not all adoption is bad. But we need to keep family together. If a child must be given up,then laws MUST change and include medical & hereditary info. Thank you for staying by your daughter & grandchild. Privacy rights of one should not strip another human being from their identity.
I think I will never can put my baby for adoption. I understand that she was only 15 but I can't imagine trying to sleep every night without knowing if my child is ok.😢

You get approximately 50% from each parent but there is a range, just like with siblings which is also about 50% dna in common. However one can tell if it's a parent child match or sibling match because in a parent - child dna match the shared dna can only be half-identical where as full siblings will have both half-identical and completely identical dna (meaning the exact same dna from both mother and father at a specific chromosome.)

All these family reunion shows & they eather find there mom or dad, but yet no one cares to find both parents cuz after u find one u could ask about the other cuz after all it take a man & woman to have a baby.
Such a wonderful story, but I bring up a scenario where in similar cases, relatives/loved ones could be looking for one another, doing the DNA testing etc., but could be using different companies for testing and ultimately, searches. It would be a wise move if these companies exchanged information amongst themselves just in case, and I am sure there is, people are looking for one another but using different service providers and missing out on the connection.

I thought you have to have 99% to have a match...
I mean I think it makes sense cause 50% of your DNA is from your mother and the other 50% from your father. So in her case 49.1% matches her mother

Why would they give their services away? People that know they are searching for an adopted relative are free to pay to use all of the services.
