🎄This collection is now available to purchase in lossless audio via CD or Download from the BIS Store: www.beautyinsound.co.uk/products/advent-and-christmas-hymns! 🎉
Thank you very much for finally making your recordings available to purchase! RUclips audio is, well, not the greatest, and I have been waiting for this for quite some time. Also, I love the registrations on O Come, O Come Emmanuel - so many people play don't think when registering it and it can sound quite 'generic'.
I love Traditional Christmas hymns and am tired of listening to secular "holiday" jingles. Listening to them played on the majestic organ is simply breathtaking!
Lucifer were created perfect in all ways and he were an instrument of God, an organ. Before he fell into sin, because of his pride and became God's adversary, Satan. A new covering archangel of God however will be established and indeed be the instrument of God in His kingdom too
150 Voice Mass Choir;simply and lovely singing this Amazing piece than reminds us of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesuschrist. Season Greetings to you from Costa Rica, Central America, may the blessings of our Lord and Saviour be with you as you sing to His Glory during this Advent Season 2024 and you continue throughout the New Year 2025 with expectation to the New Year but with all of you faith fix in God the Almighty, knowing that He will nor forget you mor forsake you!!!!!
This is absolutely lovely! Calming. As one church musician to another, this is such a hectic and stressful time matched only by Easter/Holy Week. Remember to rest, destress and get plenty of water, sleep and good food. No quick tide-me-over snacks. Stay well and let's go God's Music Team! Merry Christmas to All and a Very Happy and Blessed New Year!!!!
Hi Richard, thanks for the beautiful Avent music. The best was the 4 hands on the organ. And you are also doing the pedals. This was fantastic!! Best regards, maarten buma Pretoria South Africa
These Christmas Carol's i grew up singing in church, and school. These are so glorious, filling my heart with warm. Praying the Lords continous blessings over your life.
Thanks Richard for this program! The hymn “Lo! He comes” really makes the season of Advent alive for me. May your Advent be full of hope and your Christmas full of joy!
im a former choirboy of the Church Of The Redeemer in Toronto Canada and a few times at St.James Cathedral Toronto..of course i have choral organ music in my blood ..thank you for helping to continue this beautiful passion of yours me and others..God Bless you and your family!
Thank you Richard for this. So special to remember all the good memories of Christmas and all the good times. This will be the 2nd Christmas without my Dad. I can still remember all the Christmases that I had with him. We also used to do a Christmas Carol Afternoon before Covid struck but have not done one since. I do miss our Christmas Carol afternoon which we used to have with my Dad conducting everyone and my Mom playing on the organ. 😢 So nice to hear you playing with such warmth and feeling. Thank you again Richard. 🇿🇦🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Very few can make the organ sing like you, Richard! Thank you for sharing this music with us! It's a wonderful way for us organists to kick off the Advent/Christmas season. Wishing you a Blessed and Happy Holiday season!!!
Absolutely wonderful. I love pipe organ music so much and what a great one of the kind, that you got to perform on. I am absolutely fed up with the reprobates on rotation on radio singing about Christmas and Santa, but leaving out my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who brought us all of hope and promise, and also and end of lawlessness, being slaves to sin. God's Grace be upon you and Merry Christmas! God Bless and Shalom!
Your arrangement of the 9th-century modal Advent hymn "Veni, Veni, Emmanuel" is the most glorious that I have heard. I can't get enought of it! The final stanza, in which you pull out increasing numbers of stops while keeping full control of the manuals is impressive. I can see how the music moves you, as in that last stanza you cannot help but let out with a big smile as the organ swells. Your Bach shows the same great love of what you are doing. (From a symphony concertmaster in the USA)
Maestro, thank you for such beautiful Christmas hymns during this turbulent time in our world; just taking our minds and hearts to a place of love and peace is such. A kindness that only a beautiful human being like yourself can do. May God bless you and your loved ones. Much love,💙 Richard USA New York,
You know, you can actually buy old pipe organs for very little or no money at all. Entire websites dedicated to salvage and distribute pipe organs from churches, that either has been closed or has gone down the road of a modern worship team. Those are of course expensive to install and maintain, the key problem with an acoustic pipe organ, but you also today have a huge choice of great pipe organ emulations, as for instance Viscount with Physis technology, that sounds very convincing. Virtually no maintenance cost at all and even their top models cost a whole less than a grand piano. Hauptwerk is the most common platform though, and the advantage with that platform is, that you can continue to share or buy new organ sounds and install it into your organ. Viscount offer one model with 8 speakers and three rows and all for less than 20.000 US Dollars. Danish Danhild however undercut that massively offering and Hauptwerk emulation pipe organ for around 10.000 US Dollars equivalent, and that one is built for great ergonomics too, with for instance fully height adjustable keyboard, so all from the smallest toddler to the tallest man in your congregation can play on it. Danhild has however small or no inbuilt speakers though, so that one in a church setting got to be installed with a PA system. Then again, you can't even buy a baby grand piano for that kind of money. God Bless and Shalom!
The organ there at Blackburn speaks quite clearly, even in that very reverberant acoustical setting. I really enjoy the “silvery” tones it is able to produce. The overall dynamic range and scope of colors are impressive. The sample set for this organ is outstanding. This is a very enjoyable recording!👍
Thank you Richard for playing these Advent carols to motivate our thoughts to the Christmas-time just around the corner! wishing yu Caroline & your two beautiful children a wonderful & Blessed Xmas🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you Richard McVeigh and John Hosking for making this day more glorious than it already is. And, thank you Caroline for occasionally adding your voice to the mix.❤️
Thank you Richard for this collection of Christmas Hymns. I love watching and listening to choirs and organs at Christmas. God bless you. Merry Christmas 🙏🏿
Wonderful to listen to these Beautiful Christmas Hymns ,a lot of Beautiful Churches in Our City of Christchurch are no longer standing after the Christchurch Earthquake ,in 2011/2.🙏🎶🎶✨🌏✨💥💥
You Bring the Full Magnificence of this Organ to Life Richard! Thank You So Much for This Concert of Christmas Hymns and Music! May You and Caroline and Your Family Have a Happy and Healthy Christmas and A Prosperous New Year!
I have been listening to this on loop for the last few days while studying and probably will continue to do so until Christmas. Thank you very much, Richard, for this lovely compilation of not only the well-known carols but also Advent hymns. The organ sound astounding through a pair of headphones: it is loud, ecxiting, and perfect for Christmas... ;) I cannot wait to see what BiS has in store for us for the remainder of the year until Christmas!
Happy Christmas everyone! Apologies for the incorrect subtitles for the hymn 'On Jordan's Bank the Baptist's cry'. Here are the correct words: 1 On Jordan's bank the Baptist's cry announces that the Lord is nigh. Awake and harken, for he brings glad tidings of the King of kings! 2 Then cleansed be every life from sin: make straight the way for God within, and let us all our hearts prepare for Christ to come and enter there. 3 We hail you as our Savior, Lord, our refuge and our great reward. Without your grace we waste away like flowers that wither and decay. 4 Stretch forth your hand, our health restore, and make us rise to fall no more. O let your face upon us shine and fill the world with love divine. 5 All praise to you, eternal Son, whose advent has our freedom won, whom with the Father we adore, and Holy Spirit, evermore.
Wonderful playing, Richard! One other (very common) mistake in the subtitles in "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing": You have it listed as "hail the SON of righteousness"...when it should be "SUN" (which is the word that Charles Wesley used, from Malachi 4:2).
geoffrey griffith in philadelphia usa and former member of all saints anglican church choirs in st peter barbados west indies in the 1960 ties mr richard mcveigh you are the greatest with all these beautiful advennt and glorious christmas hymns all are my favorites over the years it brings back wonderful memories for me amen thanks
Just FYI concerning the High Plains of West Texas: In the latter sense, the High Plains may be said to cover the northernmost Panhandle of Texas, northeastern New Mexico, eastern Colorado, and westernmost Kansas. The High Plains are generally flat grassland, drained eastward by the Platte, Arkansas, and Canadian rivers. Love your music. Peaceful. Joyful. Thank you.
I bought the digital files (because impatience 😆) and is now loaded in my iTunes library and on my iPhone. Played it this morning loud in my airpods. Doesnt get better than this
This is magnificent Richard, thankyou. A question- the reeds sounded as if tuning was needed? Love the " last verst" harmonies. Are they available to purchase? A very blessed Christmas to you all.
Advent this year is relatively shorter compared to recent years. Recent years it began the last weekend in November whereas this year it's not starting till the 4th of December. Only 3 Sundays of Advent and what technically is the 4th Sunday of Advent is overlooked as it falls and ends on Christmas Eve. Doubt there be any mass to mark it as most churches and people are obviously gonna go to midnight mass
Please do explain why it gets annoying? From a visual aspect, or from the way it sounds? How else does an organist play the organ without changing the stops and therefore the dynamics?
WHAT a GLORIOUS start to ADVENT & CHRISTMAS! THANK YOU ALL! I post your programs on my X channel site, & recommend "folks give themselves a beautiful break/respite from politics"! BIS does represent much of the BEST of human endeavor...THANK YOU & blessings, again!

How do I access the audio file I purchased last night? I was expecting a download link in my email?
I love Traditional Christmas hymns and am tired of listening to secular "holiday" jingles. Listening to them played on the majestic organ is simply breathtaking!
I agree, I love traditional Christmas songs so much more!
Nothing else to add .
Simply breath-taking.
I agree 100%
I really believe that the organ will be a major instrument in God’s kingdom.😊😊❤❤😮😮
Lucifer were created perfect in all ways and he were an instrument of God, an organ. Before he fell into sin, because of his pride and became God's adversary, Satan. A new covering archangel of God however will be established and indeed be the instrument of God in His kingdom too
Listening while writing Christmas cards/ messages, makes the task much more pleasurable! ❤
These videos with no speaking are designed for exactly that - perfect for background listening!

Thank you Richard. This is such a wonderful performance, one I will surely enjoy for years and years to come!
Richard is a highly gifted organist. His added ingredients to the original tune is mesmerising and the end swells are magnificent. My 5* to him!
O Come All Ye Faithful with TWO organ masters at the console! WOW. (ordering 2 CDs...)

Listening to timeless Christmas hymns and songs never gets old. My infant daughter is sleeping on my chest as we listen together.
Good afternoon on Thanksgiving weekend 😊

Inspirational playing - and a worshipful experience. Thank you, Richard and Blackburn.
Thank you Richard for this gift we will listen to many times over Advent & Christmas! -Bill & Chris in Sacramento, California USA.
I played the Advent hymns video on my TV yesterday after church. Our church only has a piano, so it was such a blessing!

That buildup on O Come All Ye Faithful was really amazing, and super smooth. The Blackburn cathedral organ crescendos well
Watching and listening from Kampala, Uganda. Wonderful music. Many thanks and keep up the good work.
Two sublime descants in a row
I have been listening to this on loop for the last few days while studying and probably will continue to do so until Christmas. Happy Christmas everyone! Apologies for the incorrect subtitles for the hymn 'On Jordan's Bank the Baptist's cry'. Here are the correct words:
1 On Jordan's bank the Baptist's cry
announces that the Lord is nigh.
Awake and harken, for he brings
glad tidings of the King of kings!
2 Then cleansed be every life from sin:
make straight the way for God within,
and let us all our hearts prepare
for Christ to come and enter there.
3 We hail you as our Savior, Lord,
our refuge and our great reward.
Without your grace we waste away
like flowers that wither and decay.
4 Stretch forth your hand, our health restore,
and make us rise to fall no more.
O let your face upon us shine
and fill the world with love divine.
5 All praise to you, eternal Son,
whose advent has our freedom won,
whom with the Father we adore,
and Holy Spirit, evermore.
Wonderful playing, Richard! One other (very common) mistake in the subtitles in "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing":
You have it listed as "hail the SON of righteousness"...when it should be "SUN" (which is the word that Charles Wesley used, from Malachi 4:2).
Indeed, and Jesus Christ is also interchangeably referred to as both Son and Sun of God in other parts of scripture, for instance in Revelation.
So Beautiful as we Prepare for Christmastide! Thanks so much! Excellent Playing.
Merci 😊vielmools, merci beaucoup , grazie mille , vielen herzlichen Dank 😊 👍🙏🙏🙏

Breathtaking. Thank you.
Ah! THE chord at 27:08!!!!

16:01 Absolutely gorgeous pouring on of more reeds. Wonderful, Richard.
Great playing on an amazing organ! Always love the amazing word painting. Gives me so many new ideas!
Beautiful
It's great performance ❤

Thanks out of Holland. Beautiful!
That version of O Little Town of Bethlehem I am unfamiliar with but I honestly like it better!
The melody of the second hymn is very close to Bach's "Wachet Auf, Ruft Uns Die Stimme." (sorry if spelling is wrong)
Bach's famous organ piece is based on this chorale.
Thank you for the lyrics ❤
i just wanted to say i just commented from Orillia On Canada...enjoy your musicmanship etc,
역시 파이프오르간의 장엄함의 극치 입니다

I don’t know if you take requests, but if you do: Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming is such a beautiful melody on the organ. Happy Christmas time!
One of my favorites! He does play "A Great and Mighty Wonder" on this video, which is the same tune.
@@paulpeterson6565Today I learned! Thank you 🙏
Which organ is Adeste Fidelis recorded at? I don’t recognize that console
You will be rich very fast solie deo gloria
Beautiful but can we have it without the ad interruptions please.
That's up to RUclips, not me I'm afraid.
Yes it is YT decision, I don't like either.
Figures as much
I like his playing, however the messing around with the stops during one single verse gets annoying at times!
Please do explain why it gets annoying? From a visual aspect, or from the way it sounds?
