It’s been 7 months since you posted this and I first listened to it, but sometimes I just have an intense inner need for Bach. It’s like he hits one of my internal reset buttons. But then so does Vierne. lol Thank you for doing so much to restore my soul this afternoon. It’s been a few rough days. You are reliably, as always, a blessing.
"Organ music - the mighty power of sound" - In the world of music, there is hardly anything that can touch the senses as deeply as majestic organ music. The organ, often referred to as the "queen of instruments", has an incomparable power that resonates in its waves of sound. With its imposing pipes, brought to life by skilled organists, the organ creates an atmosphere that transports us to another world. The impressive presence and diverse sound possibilities of the organ make it the ideal choice for the performance of both sacred and secular music. In churches, it lends a sublime aura to liturgical celebrations, while in concert halls and theaters it impresses audiences with its monumental sounds. Organ music requires not only virtuoso skills, but also a deeply emotional interpretation. Its deep basses and high trebles can express a wide range of feelings, from solemn joy to poignant sadness. This musical gem attracts people from all over the world and proves time and time again that it has a timeless and transformative power. In a hectic world where we are often overwhelmed by the tide of everyday life, organ music reminds us that there is an incomparable power in silence and music that touches our souls and transports us to a world of beauty and contemplation. Experience the majestic power of organ music and let yourself be enchanted by its sounds. GvL - SINGER DR. B... - VIENNA - JAN 21 - 2024
I'm so very grateful that I got to hear lots of classical music growing up. Even though I didn't appreciate it at the time. The acoustics are just perfect in a cathedral. This is utterly phenomenal. Everyone listening to this has excellent taste in music. Thank you.
Absolutely amazing. Thank you to all those professional organists who are an inspiration to all of us. The last piece "BWV 478 come sweetest death, come blessed rest and take my hand and gently lead me on", was my first piece I played on the beautiful Chichester Cathedral organ under the guidance of organist Timothy Ravalde. It was also the first time ever in my life that I played a real pipe organ and a cathedral organ at that. Thank you Richard and BIS.
Thank you so much for this music Sunday afternoon gift. Must have been much work to put this together. From Gouda (Sint Janskerk - Moreau organ) Holland 😊.
Video fantastico... Non c'è di meglio che ascoltare la musica per organo di J.S.Bach suonata da organisti magistralmente bravi e geniali.. Grazie molto per questo grande video e queste favolose interpretazioni..
Yes a great selection and played with such brilliance and vigour right from the opening BWV 541. Just surprised not to see the Great Fantasia and Fugue in G Minor included.
HOWEVER! The performances are totally amazing? BUT! It must be said: The camera work!! WOW! The very best of creativity & technology give me chills! Thanks so much for the countless hours you must have spent on this most amazing video! I would love to know how you superimposed the pedal camera over the score. That is an amazing effect. Many thanks from Colorado, U.S.A.🎼🎹🎹🎹
Awesome! Bach sure knew how to squeeze the juice out of an organ. I can only imagine the feeling of being able to control a machine the size of a building with a few small levers and making such incredible music.
People.admired.J.S.Bach's.playing. To which he.replied something like; "Nothing to it. You simply move your fingers and your feet to the right places at the right times and.the.organ plays itself."
Bach could also.squeeze the juice out a violin. You look at his partitas and sonatas for unacompanied violin and you can see that only someone who had an intimate knowledge of the violin could.compose such works.
A bit late to the party but boy what a party!! All our favourite organists in one amazing recital. You truly spoil us! Well done, and thanks to all who participated 🎉🎉❤
I start thinking....how would I think when I try to find a job like a organist.... More stops - better pipeorgan....No would be other things to check up to, but more stops give better chance to make the music like you will have it. And....what about the education in to to be a organist? What are you learning more than just playing? You would learn a lot of all different parts of the organ and even about all different stops.....And yes, I will listen and enjoy this video later.
Loved this video, especially BWV 565 with the dancing monkey and blindfolded performance. I saw that one live during the marathon and am still impressed. Thanks to all the artists and organ staff that made these recordings possible.😃😹😻👏👏
I like this channel a lot! Your organ is splendid, and I generally like your registrations for baroque music! Thanks Richard! It's nice to somehow be connected to other people who like or play the organ :)
Enregistrement magistral, bravo ; SON extraordinaire, répertoire évidemment parmi les meilleurs du monde, et depuis plus de 300 ans. Vibrations élevées, sans aucun doute, merci BIS.
Wow! This was just what I was longing for! Amazing organists, amazing organs and amazing organ music! This is once again proof of the quality of BiS. Thank you Richard and all recitalists!
How did I miss Anna Lapwood performing on the BIS Baby? So reassuring to hear that she still plays repertoire despite a lot of popularist pieces in the Albert.
Richard you rank right up with rest of these spectacular Organist. Thank you so much for putting this together to provide with 3 +hours of listening pleasure and joy!
Thank you for this absolutely fabulous upload - our Bach favorites, all on amazing organs, amazing performers, and superb audio quality. I am thrilled that you opened with Gloucester - such an exciting sound.
Thank you Richard for putting this lovely Bach video for us. It was nice to re-visit the cathedrals and see the guest organists again. I forgot how beautiful the inside of Arundel Cathedral was especially the pipes and stained glass. Beautiful! You tackled The Wedge beautifully on that organ. 🌷
What a treat! Thank you so much for your generosity . It is such a privilege to be able to listen to these beautiful compositions played by such skilful organish on such amazing organs. thank you.
Of all the BWV's ....Today?! Well errr.... your BWV532 was great !! Play, registration, sound, clear bright, wonderfull recording. Tomorrow another favourite!! ❤
Wow! How fabulous is this. I've just found it very late tonight, so have hopefully saved it to enjoy at leisure. Thank you so much Richard and BIS friends.
JS Bach is my favourite composer! I've played a few of these back in my organ days, lol! Tocatta & Fugue in D minor I had memorized, so not surprised you're playing it blindfolded.
This is absolutely amazing.. almost all famous works of Bach all in one video. Thanks Richard for the complete compilation played by different organists ❤️
What an epic undertaking Richard. Thank you very much. Wonderful to be able to relisten in the future. By the way pleased you included my favourite. Blessings.
The whole video is nothing short of fabulous and the performance of the Vivace from the Trio Sonata in G (BWV 530) is perhaps the finest I've ever heard.
@@beautyinsound Yes! It will always be Widor's Toccata from Sym. 5. It stops me in my tracks, flattens me, and calls for a box of tissues every time. I don't understand why it undoes me.❣️
So breathtaking. It's Johann Sebastian. Simple 💓
I can think of no better instrument than the king of all instruments to be used in the worship of the King of all kings!

The blinded organist doing the Toccata and Fugue in D minor is almost super human, Bravo, such majesty and beauty !
Haha the blinded organist is me!
The organist wasn't "blinded." He was _blindfolded._
When you know it so well, you can literally do it blindfolded.
Bellissimo. Complimenti dall'Italia
