Asami: I can electrocute my enemies, I can drave any type of vehicle, I can repair an airship in the middle of the desert and build a sand sailer from scraps, I can renovate some streets and the infrastructure of a whole city. And the list goes on.

I really like Asami. They don’t just state that she has martial arts and self-defense capabilities, they actually SHOW that she has those skills. Not to mention that she’s smart and inventive. She’s not absolutely flawless in everything she does, but she’s not underplayed on her skills either.
Yet the comics forgot that and made her into a damsel in distress.
@@darthnowlan Right, like when she got taken down by like 3 benders and Korra had to save her. Meanwhile, in the show, we see her take down much more Equalist chi-blockers and the Equalist lieutenant.
@@bastienlafleur5838 Yeah. In the comics, they forgot Asami could take care of herself against benders and nonbenders and didn't need saving.
@@darthnowlan Not really. The closest thing that comes to that was when she was kidnapped by Tokuga's men, but she handled herself quite well on her own.

Which is kinda ironic, considering that the creators originally made her to be an Equalist spy within Team Avatar

-Both of them are non benders of their respective teams.
- They use gadgets as their arsenal in addition to their martial arts in battle.
- Both have the brains of devising plans, strategies and tactics.
Yes, but I'd say Bolin has way more of Sokka's silliness, awkwardness, drama, and tendency to prioritize food and dating.

Asami's like Batman! She doesn't have powers like the others, but she's a strong capable fighter, has gadgets to even the playing field, and she's rich!

When they introduced her, I thought she was just going to be Mako's love interest. I'm glad that she befriended with Avatar team and proved herself to be a valueable member of the group and thanks to her skills in combat, industry and her relationship with Korra.

@@earffquake first of all, Varrick can't bend either (as far as we know). Secondly, Asami didn't create the glove, her father did. Thirdly, Varrick created even greater machines than she did, like the spirit laser, the most powerful weapon in the world, or how he upgraded her father's mecha tanks to a more sleek and maneuverable design. He invented film in the avatar world.

I loved Asami
Asami is voiced by Seychelle Gabriel. The same actress who played Yue in The Last Airbender.
I think Ty lee sounded like jinora when she said she was quitting the circus it’s a random thought from me but that’s cool!

She had important moon duties to take care of.
But her voice is unrecognisable
That’s what I love about Avatar, even though nonbenders might not be seen as capable to engage in combat against benders, they always find a way prove them wrong. Azula had an elite team that included two nonbenders, The Kyoshi warriors became bodyguards for Firelord Zuko, Sokka developed into a formidable tactician and warrior, and Asami was able to best even the brightest benders with her fighting prowess and intelligence. Just because someone doesn’t have special powers, that doesn’t mean they’re useless or incapable of making a difference. The writers don’t undermine, but rather embrace that aspect about them.

The way I always wanted to be just like Asami and also to be her because she is amazing and so beautiful...
That moment when the writers made it look like Asami was going to join her dad made her like 20-30% hotter some how.
Omg...she's so powerful. Brilliant. Awesome. Just imagine if the show had given her more screen time. It's sad they treated her as a prop even when she was a part of the main Team Avatar. But I'm glad they realized her importance later on in the show.
Also the moment she took out the Red Lotus guards! That was spectacular too!
I'm so glad she's getting the recognition she deserves! TOP 3 characters for sure!

yeah as much as I love Asami for herself it's really freaking hard to compete with Zuko Iroh Aang Azula Toph Katara and Sokka, all of whom have basically perfect character arcs

She is kinda like if you Katara and Suki together. Not able to bend but still a major threat. Most of her moves has that water bending grace and her hair game on point. I wish we focused more on her. Also I love her car.

Am I the only person who thought Asami was a villain in LoK? because see's lookin sharp.
Somehow my mind was formatted to villain = sharp looks and eyes but Mannnn. Asami's a different breed.

She stole the Avatar's heart, that is quite a powerful feat by itself
Asami of all that became a member of Team Avatar is an original knowing she is an engineer/fighter. Sokka is more of warrior/strategist/commander but Asami is way smarter and is a strong warrior like Sokka 🍭💖.
Well u gotta take the fact that she comes from a Rich family sokka doesn’t which means she has more opportunities to learn things and she was also older than he was when the shows aired

When I watched this for the first time I was certain Asami's arc was going to parallel Zuko's betrayal/redemption arc. I enjoyed this subversion.
I appreciate how Asami's relationship with her father is sort of the inverse of Zuko/Iroh - their final showdown at the end of the season was intense.
Asami was def the best character in the show outside of Toph who is forever my favorite.

First Asami lost her mother and now she lost her father. Hiroshi died a hero. I can tell that Asami was willing to forgive her father for his misdeeds.
