This moment at 9:12 is one of my favorites in the show. Zaheer made one fatal flaw in this scene: he saw the Avatar state as only the point when Korra was at her most vulnerable. But it was also when she was at her strongest. Best of all, her connection to the past Avatars being severed, these abilities are purely her own. The knowledge and skills of the past Avatars was lost, and all that we are seeing is Korra's primal instinct to stay alive and fight Zaheer, and I am all here for it. Also, I'd rather say this on a video where the scene is shown in full, rather than a compilation video, but the comment sections on those videos aren't open there, so...
This is a huge plot hole giving the pure definition of the avatar state given by Roku in TLA. If Korra's past life connections is broken the should not be, by scrict and pure definition no avatar state anymore. There's no explanation unless we start pulling headcannon. Like myself, who thinks korra lost her comunication, as aang burned his with Roku in the comics, but as long as the avatar is alive there's connection through their past lives.
@@h5y878 In fairness, Korra did essentially retcon the Avatar State as being the Avatar channeling the power of the universe through Raava. Not as compelling as solely being the culmination of thousands of lifetimes of wisdom and experience, but it doesn't invalidate that aspect, either. It's all unique bending no combined past avatars taught her to do.
When Aang used it, it felt powerful because he was weaker without it but Korra is already strong without it and when she used it, it was just a boost
its the opposite for me aang's avatar state was making him stronger since he wasnt that strong and raw with fire, water and earth when it comes to korra she is so strong with all the elements and the avatar state is just a booster for her... when she lost her past lives' connection her avatar state was still powerful than any other avatar existed (kyoshi is the 2nd strongest avatar after korra for me)
And Korra has her own physical and bending prowess. She doesn't always need to be saved by her previous life unlike Aang.
korra has used the avatar state on multiple occasions and showed that her avatar state was just as powerful and if not more .. more powerful than aangs. you guys are just blinded by nostalgia and aang fan boys. and then you guys constantly compare everything korra does / have / had to aang. its like y’all want her to live up to him but yet and still y’all never did this with aang. y’all never wanted him to live up to any other avatars or compared him to the past lives.

Season 2 is the best
Agora q me toquei q a Korra domina energia, pq q ela nao tirou a dominação da Kuvira?
The writers destory the avatar
Avatar stage in avatar Korra is so cringy. In avatar Aang avatar state was rare, but too powerful state. In avatar Korra she just get white eyes and little boost. THAT IS IT!
