Friendly update, to anyone watching this in the future. Forrest Fenn's Treasure was found on June 6, 2020 in Wyoming (Sorry Ryan). Due to not wanting the location of the treasure to turn into a tourist trap by Forrest Fenn devotees, Jack Stuef (the finder), has chosen to keep the final location a secret. After meeting with and speaking to Jack, Fenn sadly passed away a few months later on September 7, 2020.
Im glad his treasure was found while he was alive and he lived to see the problem be solved 🥲
That’s wild
that was so close- he almost didn’t make it :(
glad to see he lived and saw it get solved, and can now rest peacefully 🤍
I think it would be cool if they put a marker or something where the treasure was found so that people can still participate in the hunt and try to solve the puzzle
was he laid to rest at the location?
When Ryan said “secondary location” I felt the John Mulaney in my soul jolt

I had no idea how much I missed Unsolved until I went through times without them... How can Unsolved be so addictive? Science, please explain.
Ada K. So not science, but, I have personally missed the banter between them combined with such compelling narrative. Maybe they are somehow making some endorphins get all happy and thus addiction.
"There's other science we don't know about." - Ryan Bergara 2017
Basically when you enjoy something a hormone called oxytocin , dopamine and serotonin which tells our brain HEY THIS IF FUN I LIKE THIS and thus we keep watching it to get hits of dopamine and stuff resulting in addiction.

It's interesting seeing Shane and Ryan search for Fenn's Treasure when it's now been found, last year in 2020 of all the times it could have been! It's so sweet that Fenn got to see the treasure found before he passed and I hope the whole situation goes well for the finder and the legal actions that are happening.
Yg
It's weird that the founder doesn't want to say where he found it. Probably for legal reasons he can't say. Just like Ryan, I want to know where it was found, Because I tried looking for it since 2015. Just like Ryan wondering if he was close, I too want to know if I was close.
@@Only1Noodle Well it was confirmed to be hidden in Wyoming, so if you searched there who knows? You may have been close :P
can you imagine if you had been within a small distance of the treasure and never even known
@@Only1Noodle Jack has stated he doesn't want to disclose the location for fear of it becoming a tourist location and people destroying the area. It meant a LOT to Fenn, so much so that he had written about laying there to pass away when he died.
Jack came to love it as well, often taking naps under nearby pine trees while searching for the treasure. I can 100% understand keeping it a secret to keep it undisturbed.
Unfortunately there are so many people on the internet and IRL who think Jack is lying. They think Fenn went out, moved the box, and was working with Jack so he could "find" it and keep others from doing so. I 1000% believe Jack found it fair and square, and that there wasn't funny business. People are bitter that they couldn't find it. Jack made listening to Fenn his life for a while, and he didn't try to look deeper than what Fenn himself said. Other hunters thought there was more to the poem then there was, and didn't think to just sit and learn all about Fenn.
Jack found it fair and square, because he took the time to put himself in Fenn's shoes. I understand not wanting to share the location to keep it sacred in a way.
On a serious note: You guys help me a lot. I have depression, etc. and for some reason you guys really lift me up. That Bobby Dunbar case brought up so many emotions...sadness because nobody knows what happened to him, anger because the Dunbars may have POTENTIALLY took possession of someone else's child {which really invokes sadness AND anger} and finally happiness due to that wonderful quote at the end. What a creepy story. However, I hope we find out what happened to Bobby one day. He deserves that much. R.I.P Bobby
this case always gets me. its so sad and bizarre.

@@AnneQuiet I watched some closet decluterring videos a while back and thanks to that inspiration I have so much more space now and I even learned the konmari method of folding clothes and my closet and drawers never looked better and manageable.
Here's an idea for Christina's case: Though Jack and Ronald could very well have planned to inherit stuff from one another, Christina could have legitimately been dealing with mental health issues seeing how "close" they were, so she probably felt deeply unloved. Again, this is the 1940s, gay people couldn't really be out at all. Ronald probably did care about Christina by the looks of it and did want to comfort her, but he could've also wanted to intimately be with Jack and was simultaneously a close friend of Christina's. Given this, I feel like Jack could've been the guiltiest out of all of them. Christina felt unloved by her own husband, debated suicide a few times and even wrote notes, so one could wonder that she drugged herself, accidentally started the fire (given there was a strong smell of coal oil in the living room), then ran. She could've intended to give herself monoxide poisoning, yet went out of control, so she just ran out of the cottage and away from everything towards the river. Depending on how much codeine was in her system, she could've maybe fallen unconscious (though I would say it was unlikely she tripped, she could have also been stumbling away since she was only 150 feet away) then drowned. Just some speculation though?
also, I really appreciate how you managed to take such a compassionate view of everyone. maybe it's just how people have always been or it's a new phenomenon, but people seem to have a hard time with stuff like this - they want there to be an evildoer, so one side has to be Right and the other has to be Wrong. but instead, you were just like "it's complicated, and it's possible that it was just a tragedy. no foul play, nothing suspicious, just an unfortunate tragedy for everyone involved"
Didn't Mythbusters prove the Alcatraz escape was plausible? I think it was like 15 years ago and can't remember the details, I just remember Adam being excited when they landed.
Yes
They did! I was surprised they didn't mention it in the episode. If I remember correctly, the boat did start to sink but they managed to get to shore before it completely capsized.
I think they proved they couldn’t make it to the specific landing site. But the boat made it shore just not where you would think.
Plausible, but, when you consider that all those personal item belonging to the escapees being found, I think it's unlikely they survived. They wouldn't leave that stuff behind, especially the contact information. They would only need to leave the boat and life vests to mislead the authorities. Leaving behind contact information doesn't make any sense.
@@pattierotondo1108 but consider- leaving those items behind fooled *you* into thinking that they died /lh

Brian Wells really tried to blame 2 black men for putting the collar on him….. That part will baffle me endlessly. That one statement gives it away that he at least started out as a willing participant because everyone involved was white…… and my dads family is from rural Pennsylvania. It’s 99% white people. So he was lying to cover for the people actually involved because he thought the cops could get the collar off??? But he did it in a racist way??? Cool. Great.
Really good point. I always gloss over that on rewatches, but now that you mentioned it that definitely makes him guilty.

The fact that these parents failed to identify their child right away pretty much answers the question. I mean he was 4, it wasn't like he was 6 months old, the age where a lot of babies look the same. Hell, if my little cousin went missing for 8 months, I could on-the-spot tell you whether the child they found is him or not.
I think they wanted their son back so desperately that they ended up simply taking in a child that looked like their son. It's understandable and it's saddening. Tragic event but we'll never know apparently.

I believe there is strong evidence to suggest the Anglin brothers did in fact survive the escape from Alcatraz and immigrate to Brazil. When I was substitute teaching, I had a boy in my high school class who claims the Anglins are his uncles and said they sent cards & gifts to family members on their birthdays and holidays. He said the History channel documentary is correct. They moved to Brazil and became farmers. The Feds are probably embarrassed the inmates escaped the Rock, which is why they originally claimed they thought no one survived the escape and the swim across the Bay.
Did he ever show you old photos or anything?
Ah yes, because we all know if some high schooler says it’s true it MUST be true...
@@neilnienaber7759 just because somebody is in highschool doesn't immediately mean they're lying either.
brooklyn no, but I didn’t say they were wrong. I’m just saying that we can’t say that their claim is true just because they said it.
Ok. So some more context to this story.
The kids were writing research papers for English class that day. I was going around checking on their progress. That boy's paper was on the Alcatraz prison break. So I got to talking to him and he volunteered the information in saying the Anglins are his uncles & mentioned they have stayed in touch with family.
Also, if you've seen the History channel documentary you'd see the photo that surfaced of the Anglins farming in Brazil and hear the testimony of his family and friend who said he ran into them at a bar in Brazil when he was on vacation.
Also, I can confirm there were Anglins in our local community so they may have been this boy's family.
I have no reason to believe he'd make up the story. He was writing a research paper on it.
It's totally plausible they made it across the bay as the Buzzfeed unsolved story noted. If they had a driver pick them up in the city, they could've made a run for it before the authorities caught track of them.
I don't know why but I literally cracked up for 5 minutes straight when Shane said" Hey let's take a picture wit todays newpaypa". Definitely the best laugh of the year.

Alcatraz is a sick name for a wrestler tho 👌🏼
And it was

It was Louisiana so they didnt cut them open and just throw them out. $1000 says they ate em.

@@austinbridges7928 oh hell yeah they are

It's strange to see metro Shane here and now we have hipster Shane on Watcher.
The Bobby Dunbar/ Bruce Anderson story, mistaken identity aside is still really tragic. Not only because there's still a missing boy, but ultimately both mothers lost their child.
Next episode of Buzzfeed Unsolved: Why Buzzfeed Unsolved Is So Addictive
Because of shane
The case remains.....

I really love the Forrest Fenn episode, however it jars me when they mention buzzfeed cause in my head this show is separate.
Ryan and Shane been carrying this damn company 😂😂😂😂
What's even funnier is the man who found the treasure, Jack Stuef, worked for Buzzfeed at one point in time!
I'm low key obsessed with the season marathons and also everything else they're in🤣
Whenever room was really messy growing up my parents would say "we might find Jimmy Hoffa in there"
My heart *DROPPED* when they thought they found the treasure
Someone found it this month
@@RawWrtochi19 really? Who?
It's also unfortunate some sore losers want to sue the guy who found the treasure as well as Fenn himself. It's no wonder they're keeping him anonymous...

I’ve watched every single marathon about a good 30 times and I use it as background noise to sleep every night. I don’t care how many times I watch them, they’re still the best thing on RUclips 🥺💕

If anyone is interested in the Collar Bomb case I really suggest watching Evil Genius!! It’s my favourite docuseries of all time and has a lot of interviews etc with the participants of the incident
I wanna know if Shane and Ryan ever did that spring cleaning they discussed during the coller bomb episode
i do love that they were just casually making weekend plans in the middle of the episode. besties fr

I'm here 4 years later to applaud your underrated comment. 👏
Puppet History has led me here and, I have to say, you guys are not good for my procrastination, lol! Now, instead of reading articles for grad school, I'm trying to solve the unsolvable. Love this!
