    British Airways was the only European Airline that stayed true and loyal to the A380 during the pandemic and that’s why I was super happy to get a chance to fly on it. It is an extremely smooth, quiet, and comfortable aircraft and is always to spend time on. (especially for long flights) Overall the flight service was up to par with what’s offered by the competition. The only major complaint I have is that British Airways lost a very high-value and important bag of mine and the support I got from the airline was horrible. The people at the airport couldn’t give me a straight answer to any of my questions and the staff on the phone were outright rude to me. I still don’t have my bag nor do I have any financial compensation even though I have filed a claim for a lost bag. Overall, I just find this to be poor customer service and I hope that British Airways can clean up their act in that respect.

    SUCH a quiet cabin you can hear another passenger cough; you can hear a tray rattling during landing.

    Thanks for a nice trip report. I enjoyed it. Poor showing from BA with regard to the second meal, especially for premium economy. I am sorry about your bike. Losing checked luggage is typical British Airways. I have got some holiday coming up and your experience has helped push BA premium economy down the list of products I would like to try. Thanks!

    I’ve flown BA’s 777 Economy Plus and the A350 Economy Plus and the A350 has more seat room and is quieter
    Haven’t been on the A380 yet due to not flying more than 8 hours one way lately.

    Thanks for this! I'll be in 63A in one month flying SFO - LHR. Do you think there is a way to hang a foot sling from the seat in front since there is no tray table? Do I even need to?

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  Год назад +1

      The WT+ seats are quite roomy but I could imagine flying with your foot in a sling could be a bit cumbersome. I don’t believe there is anywhere you can HANG your sling however, I know there are stools you can buy on Amazon and you can put that kind of in between the seat in-front of you and the side panel of the storage compartment. (This is where I had my Skateboard stored) there is more than enough room there.

    I'm in SJ and am getting ready to head across the pond out of SFO. I've been doing extensive research on flight options and have been running up against all the insanity of crew shortages, delays, cancellations, etc. Did you experience any of that when you flew?

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  Год назад

      No not really. My flight left with only a minor delay and I didn’t really feel that the crew shortage effected my flight but one major thing is that BA lost my bag and the bags of many other people around this time. I believe this issue is resolved but I would still be careful when checking in a bag.

      Unfortunately not. I ended up only getting $1,600 USD from them 4 months after my flight even though I had submitted several documents and receipts, stating that the bike’s value was over $5,000 USD. Definitely not good customer support on BA’s end.

      @@theplanefacts With the worldwide problems with lost luggage, I too would be hesitant to check-in anything of value. My Father when he flew BA years ago while returning from Scotland had BA rip the outside lining of his suitcase, and upon seeing it when it came off the luggage carousel, really gave it to the BA representative on duty at the airport in Toronto. BA paid to repair it but did a lousy job. After that, no one in my family has flown them since.

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  Год назад

      AWFUL!!!! The customer service is unfortunately one of the worst in all the airlines I’ve flown on. I’m pretty sure they are strict on their 23kg policy. I am personally furious with British Airways because they lost an extremely valuable mountain bike of mine and they did an awful job on handling the situation. In the end they only ended up compensating 25% of the bag THEY lost 4 months after my flight.

      @@theplanefacts Have you been on American Airlines. I think they are the worst. I flew with them from Miami to Beijing in 2018 and I was sleeping and they did not even manage to wake me up during meal service. They were vex because I was sleeping and they ripped my duffel bag. The recline on AA 787 is another story. No one should be forced to sleep on their tray table since there is very little recline.

      Pizza will be back what joy. Glorified cheese on toast. Thanks for that update. I would sooner stick to the sandwich. Better still if BA supplied proper hot food in the first place. I stopped flying with BA years ago when I flew LHR to BKK nonstop. And they ran out of food and gave me a dried-up pasta dish that was so hard it was inedible. As usual it was take it or go without. RIP BA.
