My family and I travelled to Mauritius recently on a 12 hour night flight both ways, so we vowed to looking into going Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus) next time. Your review has helped us make up our mind. Thanks a lot.
I flew with this exact flight last week. I like the A380, flown a few times on this airbus. We got a free upgrade from Economy to Business Class. So I really like this flight 😆
@ My wife’s Auntie’s nephew works for BA. Her Auntie asked for flight & seat no. just out of the blue when she visited a few months before we flew out. Didn’t think nothing of it. Then just before take off, flight attendant came over to us, gave us a wash bag & champagne, which we thought was strange. She said i’m gonna look after you, once we’re airborne. People looking over at us, maybe thinking we’re newly weds 😂 Got our stuff and moved us into those single Pods, which was amazing. Still not worth the money. But it meant u could lay flat, have a sleep 💤 We asked the flight attendant how we came across this. She said your nephew asked to upgrade us
We're thinking of taking BA in Premium Economy to Portugal early next year on their 777. Thanks for your review, it is appreciated! Hope you enjoyed your stay in San Francisco, my hometown!
Great video, if I’m on the A380 I sometimes don’t bother with premium economy because if you can get a seat at the side on the upper deck, it’s 2-4-2 in economy as well + you benefit from the storage bins
The SFO-LHR route uses A380-800 planes, and they really are getting a bit old. But the 380-1000, which has been introduced on some routes is much fresher, and the premium economy seats are even more comfortable because they have armrests on the sides that will lift up to let you get to the loo, while the tray tables are in the middle.
Even on the 777-300, premium economy is so bad. I've flown LHR-PHL 6 times this year, and honestly, American Airlines Economy is better than BA Premium Economy (excluding food). If you can get a quite flight too, even better because you can usually get a whole row to yourself. BA really need to up their game!
Considering all the 380s were grounded during Covid and uncertainty about wether they were going to be brought back into service I suppose you can understand the reluctance by BA to spend huge sums of money on refurbishment, but that aside there is no reason why a aircraft should be dirty and this 380 did look pretty grim, but that aside the service looked good food looked reasonable, 2hr delay was not a good start to the trip, but a good review thanks .
Great video . R u still able to watch the screen even if the person in front of you reclines? Does it. Other much the passenger in front reclining? Many thanks
@@devwithzachary thanks very much! Was a bit concerned if I recline and the passenger behind complains or something but at the end of the day we all pay for that service

So glad it could help!

Amazing! Yes a free upgrade to business would certainly help 😅
How do you get free upgrades?

@@devwithzachary Didn’t get it on the way home tho 😫 was packed as it was a night flight home from the States. Always is coming home
@@ForzaMilan-di2zd omg so lucky! Hoping one day to fly business 😂😂🤞
I enjoyed my flight in this class of seat going from PDX - LHR. For return we were in Business, which of course was nice.
Those business class seats are some of the most private especially the window seat ones. You put up the divider and its like your own little room :)

Well worth it on a long hall flight but be sure it is cost-effective on a flight within Europe.
BA don’t fly to Portugal on a 777
Thank you! I got an offer of a special price on LHR-MIA.. but I was not sure. Now I can tell that You sir just saved me £288x2! 😅😅
Glad I could help!

Thank you! Completely agree, upper deck economy really is a better value with the 2-4-2 and window storage bins
Have done a few flight from London to the states this year on the A380 in premium with BA and they have all been great

Politely
There is no such aircraft as an A380-1000
I assume you mean the A350?
Also, BA is about to refurbish the A380 fleet

I love it.
The best aircraft in the wold.
Super confy.
How did you mange the upgrade? Was it done at the airport or prior to via an online offering?
This was a upgrade offered at checkin
Thank you

Service was great and Ive never had bad service from BA. But yeah at the very least they need to up the cleaning...
One reason to choose World Traveller Plus is the chance of upgrade to Club World.
Good point!
Good review carry on the good work
Thank you 😄
Very enjoyable video 👍 thanks
A380 cabin is silent ❤, very important for a long-flight
Great video . R u still able to watch the screen even if the person in front of you reclines? Does it. Other much the passenger in front reclining? Many thanks
You 100% can still watch it yes, still plenty of space even if they recline and you don't!
@@devwithzachary thanks very much! Was a bit concerned if I recline and the passenger behind complains or something but at the end of the day we all pay for that service
Thanks…..good informative video….doing same route in premium next week.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the super and safe travels!
I like the extra baggage allowance.
What seat number did you have after you change it?
Are the armrest movable on the aisle seats in premium economy seats?
don't suppose that was flight BA 107 or BA 108 by any chance?
Unfortunately not, this was BA287 into SF
Why not book the window seat within 7 days for free with your bronze status ?
This was an at checkin upgrade so all window seats where already taken
