I was doing a little presentation with friends on RCA Victor with a group in middle school and needed some background music while working on it. We all fell in love with this piece. It's so good that I still love it today, fourteen years later.
@yohnrob Well, the country was in economic turmoil in the 1890s, and a rich few ruled the country like they do now. The middle class was smaller, and the average person was fairly poor (equal, in a way). And yes, you could build your own home; though If you were wealthy to have a home with more than 3 rooms (or with indoor pluming, or electricity) then you would probably order your home from Sears.
I'm not sure when the mandolin rail was invented, however I know it's been around at least nearly 100 years because the old Nickelodeons and Orchestrions from the 1910's on had them.

Thank you for bothering to post the pianola ragtime tunes. It beats watching the rubbish on TV. Jim
What a great sound-I can just see a silent film happening to this music-or a silent comedian/eccentric dancer
